A note for anyone wishing to use any of my Kaidan casual mods with this one. They are all updated to be compatible now and will work without issue I matched the skintone by eye, so it's not 100% exact on some of the outfits, but it was close enough for me to feel comfortable releasing everything. Enjoy!

Does anyone know if this works with Project Variety? I like PV's hair for Kaidan, but every time I try to install the textures via ME3Explorer, his face is still vanilla (though the rest of his body is dark skinned). Thanks in advance for the help <3

Having a weird issue. Just started the Citadel DLC. When Kaidan shows up to help Shepard in the car lot, this mod works and his face is fine. Then, after extraction, we go back to the apartment and suddenly Kaidan is his pale self again in the scene immediately after. The one where the gun is examined and the rest of the crew shows up. I have tried reinstalling the mod and using TexMod to run the .tpf but neither works. He is still his pasty, no tanned self in that scene. Yet, he is fine in the earlier scenes and later scenes, and when just standing around in the apartment. Anyone else having this problem or have a thought on how to fix it?

Could it be that that scene is one of the ones that is pre-recorded?  In this franchise, some of the cut scenes we watch are rendered by the game AS they play whereas others were pre-recorded as video files.  Maybe this scene is one of those?

I really love this, but am confused on what to install to get fuzzy Kaidan. I don't want the new outfit - so do I just include the body texture?

      i just discovered this! create a new zip file (because theres too much to select from in the folder here) with the hmm_armm file and drag and drop after youve installed a lot and it'll install itself! :}

Hi, can you tell me what that zip is supposed to contain? Let's say I am only interested in E/V version, what files should I pick up to be able to install with ALOT installer? Thank you in advance!

@YekaHun Just download the files you want and put them all in one zip file, then drag that zip file onto the ALOT installer. I took Voodoo-Bearded-Grey-Hair.tpf AND the entire folder of HopSkipandaRump's Fuzzy Kaidan body, combined them in one .7z folder (which I named "ME1 Kaidan files"), and it seems to have installed okay!

So I tried doing what @Sunegami suggested and it didn't work for me. Kaidan had a bunch of black triangles all over his face. :\ So now I'm trying to do it the "old fashioned" way via ME3Explorer and every time I try to load it (specifically Ellise-Black-Hair.tpf), it's telling me the files are invalid.

Tried again and it's working this time! I think maybe I was missing some files the first time or something. Thanks for the tip about installing this with ALOT!

HopSkipandaRomp's body mod is now in 4K, could you update this mod with the larger texture? Or at least upload your PSD file that you used for tinting?

so i refuse to play this game without this mod and i have no issues installing this but ive changed how i installed it, i was using ALOT but ive had crashing issues so now im using Mass Effect Modder and the face installs just fine but its not recognizing the .dds files so now i have a brown face with a whtie body :( and now i guess i have to create a .mem file, and i have to know where exactly it installs? and i tried searching for kaiden (le sigh) and that didnt work. i have no idea where to look under?

oh right duh search for the file name

Can you possibly assist in a more detailed walkthrough on how to do this via ME3 Mod Manager? I'm confused. I've only used ALOT for both ME1 and ME2 modding, with np. Never used Mod Manager before but I'll need to use it for another ME3 mod (Same Gender Romance). With this kaidan mod, I'm assuming I extract the DDS or TPF files corresponding to the kaiden look I want (ellise or voodoo, etc) and put them into a new zipped folder to install them via Mod Manager. Do I need to turn them into a .mem first? And which is better: dds or TPF? What's throwing me is the amount of files within the mod itself, as I don't use ME3 Explorer or Texmod. The TPF folder contains fewer files, but where is the underwear body? Is it included within one of the TPF files or do I need to download the extra dds file for that body? The DDS folder is more detailed as far as files go, so I can tell better which corresponds to what, but again I stumble on which format is better to use. I believe Mod Manager extracts TPF files anyway, right, before installing them, right?

Also, can I pack all the dds files into a new zipped folder and just install them via ALOT? I've read that doing that might mess with other game files, but is that the case with this particular mod or are these files specific to Kaiden?

Sorry and much thanks. I've not modded ME3, obviously.

its not mod manager its mass effect modder, (https://github.com/MassEffectModder) a tiny little program that works with all of the mass effect games, it reminds me of tex mods? or something in me3explorer. you can explore and preview once you scan the files

ive had better luck converting to .mem files, which is fairly easy to do within mass effect modder. ive restarted a new game using only .mem files and so far no lockups with the same mods ive been using (minus alot bc it interferes with another mod i use)

i just dont use me3explorer anymore at ALL bc ive had my game turn pixelated too many times, and that rarely happens anymore. i just have this one (its not any mod makers fault its just the game)

heres a few screenshots of the program

      https://imgur.com/DWZ9rse

download the files, unpack them anywhere and click on the game you want, and you just click on texture manager, and theres a big list of the textures, and once thats up theres an extra menu for mods where you can create mods, load mods and such

      https://imgur.com/Gl2ZJKU

      https://imgur.com/kWcU1b1

you convert the .mod or .tpf files, load the mods, and it'll preview. then you can right click apply and verify, and its installed!

for some reason i have the hardest time with kaidan mod, i always have to go in and manually replace his .dds file and replace his chest file otherwise he has a brown head and face with a white chest in the hospital scene, but since you included that i file i can repair it. so when i install me3 i do all the big mods first and textures last, using the mod manager. so far so good!

Yay, Kaidan is his beautiful brown self again! <3

Does this mod work with beard mods?

It does not, sadly. If you have one in mind, I can contact that author about making a compatible version. I keep telling myself that some day I'll make a beardy version, but if I'm honest, I'm way too lazy.

just wanted to ask, it's not an issue as i think it's normal.

when he is naked, the neck seam it appears using this retexture of the face is expected i suppose?

I have an issue with that as well. His face and neck are the correct dusky color, but his chest and arms are the vanilla pale, like he's gotten a really bad farmer tan.
Oddly enough, His arms show the correct dusky tone when he's got the rolled up sleeves of the combat fatigue uniform on.

i'm having the same issue as well-- the seam at his neck is really visible, and his whole torso is still pasty vanilla pale. i'd be absolutely thrilled if anyone can give me a fix for this

I'm having the same problem. I even came back here looking to see if there was a file I missed, so I'm also looking for an answer/fix!

ETA: I seem to have gotten it to work by using the .dds from the "Underwear Body" file and converting it to a .mem via the MassEffectModder and applying it that way (since I have no idea how to use the texplorer). Kaidan is his beautiful dusky self again!

The mod was working beautifully and perfectly until the other day, when I installed an update to the ME3 deluxe edition. :( Now no matter how many times I try re-installing any of the skin textures, Kaidan's his pale self. I've tried some of the other suggestions on here like regenerating thumbnails, but even though he shows up dark in Texplorer, he's still pale in the game. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

EDIT: Got it sorted! I used the DLC patcher and that fixed it immediately. Thank you for the great mod!!
