Programs Required:
Mass Effect 3 & Origin
Texmod (http://social.bioware.com/project/2015/#files)
Downloading Texmod:
Be sure to download or copy Texmod into the same file that contains your “MassEffect3.exe” file.
Windows 7 Example:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect 3\Binaries\Win32\MassEffect3.exe
Windows XP Example:
C:\Program Files\Origin Games\Mass Effect 3\Binaries\Win32\MassEffect3.exe
Starting Texmod with Origin:
For Texmod to work properly it must be started first and ME3 run from within the program itself. To do this the “MassEffect3.exe” and “Texmod.exe” files must be temporarily renamed; this can either be done manually or by using a batch file. The manual method is listed below:
Renaming the *.exe files manually…
1. Open the file that contains “MassEffect3.exe” and “Texmod.exe” files.
2. Rename “MassEffect3.exe” to “MassEffect3a.exe”.
3. Rename “Texmod.exe” to “MassEffect3.exe”. This will temporarily “spoof” Origin into opening Texmod instead of Mass Effect 3.
4. Open Origin.
5. Click the ME3 icon. (If everything is correct, Texmod will open.)
6. Go back to the file that contains the “MassEffect3.exe” and “Texmod.exe” files.
7. Rename “MassEffect3.exe” to “Texmod.exe”.
8. Rename “MassEffect3a.exe” to “MassEffect3.exe.
9. Now go the Texmod dialogue box and click the folder under “Target Application”.
10. Browse or select “MassEffect3.exe” from the drop down box.
11. Click the file icon under “Select Packages” and select the .tpf files you would like to load with your game.
12. Once you’re ready click “Run” to start Mass Effect 3.
