This looks amazing! I tried to install this with texmod but when I tried to run the game the game crashes right after I click the save I wanted. I'm not sure what's the issue and I really want to install this ):
Hello, thank you for this wonderfull mod! Can i use this texture in my custom femshep? I tried to change parameters in gibbed editor but it didnt work.
I'm trying to install this mod, but I'm having some difficulties.
The tpf doesn't work, neither in newer or older versions of ME3Explorer. Trying to extract the texture and manually replace it doesn't work too, gives a mipmap error (says that it requires 12, but only has 11). Tried resaving the texture with gimp to see if created the mipmaps, but it doesn't work... Any help would be appreciated.
Note that the toolset indicates it has MIPs, that's not the problem. When it says that it requires 12 MIPs but it only has 11, it means what you already have a 2048 (= 12 MIPs) retexture/upscale installed for Default femshep's facial texture, mine is only 1024 so it has 11 MIPs. I know it's modded because the original asset is only 512 in size and has only 10 MIPs accordingly.
The problem lies with your gamestate and the toolset's apparent inability to copy over what you've already modded in there. I'd swear the Toolset automatically handles downscales on modded files (it must, otherwise my project comment section would be overflowing with similar questions, and it's not). If you're not using TPF Tools, it might be a restriction of Texplorer, it's generally not used to bypass TPf Tools in this manner as it's not as robust. When TPF Tools doesn't work, it's for good reason. Alternately there might be something wrong with the texture you already have installed. Corruption perhaps.
Try taking my texture into GIMP and upscale it to 2048 (= 12 MIPs), then save with MIPS and try a manual replace again. If that works, it would save you from having to vanilla affected PCCs.
If it doesn't work, my advice would be to vanilla the affected PCCs and try again, which are:
Also, when you say "The tpf doesn't work, neither in newer or older versions of ME3Explorer." this tells me nothing. Is it not finding a tree match? Did you scan on an unmodded game? If not, that'd be the reason. Note that if you don't have a vanilla tree, you'll likely run into this issue again in the future, and you're best off vanillaing your gamefiles and use a fresh setup to start modding.
To vanilla, either copy in a backup that you are SURE is unmodded, or manually delete all modified PCC's from your game directory (including DLC) and hit update/repair in Origin.
No worries, sorry about the 20 million edits, I tend to feel posts need additions ad infinitum as long as people haven't seen/responded to them yet lol
Hey Ottemis can you please develop a texture face mod for default Shepard to make him look like his Mass effect 2 counterpart in Mass effect 3? because I found default sheps face from Mass effect 2 more preferable.
WONDERFUL WORK! really love 'em my fave is the Lenneth, but is it supposed to have those black pointy lines at the inside corner of the eyes? you can see them in your 3rd pic, tho on my shep the lines look longer and more noticeable. they aren't bad looking and they do give the eye makeup a certain goth Egyptian quality. i just wasn't sure if the lines were purposeful
I don't know if this is an issue or not but after I installed the texture default femshep has the new texture, however she has no eyebrows lol. I installed it using ME3xplorer and didn't run into any errors. Anyways if it is normal I'll just have to avoid default femshep. Good texture by the way.
Yes, that's normal. I replace default jane's textures with ones compatible with a CC made Shepard so I don't interfere with the textures used on NPC's or with ELE's character overhaul mod. If you want the default Jane morph to use with this texture, I suggest you use this headmorph on a custom Shep.
It will allow you to pick any eyebrows or hair you want as well, through gibbed edits. This is something you can't do using the preset default Jane in the CC. Gibbed resource codes Gibbed hair codes
This will replace Default Femshep's textures so it's not one of the three textures you can pick when you make a custom Shepard, the overhaul pack covers those and they're used on NPC's. You can switch to the default Jane textures with gibbed savegame editor =)
Hi. I'm confused by the instructions. I'm a noob at this and they are very concise for my tastes. I downloaded your file and loaded it with Texmod, right above the Texture Overhaul, but when I go in game, i don't see much of a difference with the vanilla textures. In fact I'm not even sure I see a difference at all, so I don't think it's working... : P When I hit download it said it required Texmod, ME3Explorer and Gibbed Save Editor. I made sure I had all of these, but i don't know what I have to use them for in this case. On a side note, I toyed around with values and stuff in Gibbed, like with the eyebrow color and opacity and when i went in the game they were as thick and black as before. Anything I'm doing wrong or is there a chance I just can't make out the differences? Help? Thank you!!
If you want to use Texmod for temporary replacement use the TPF with Texmod. If you want to permanently replace the textures ingame you can use the TPF for use with ME3Explorer's TPF Tools. Gibbed is to change the savegame values, so that one you need regardless of what you pick. If you are loading the overhaul pack and this tpf through Texmod and you're not seeing any changes it's possible your Texmod just isn't being launched correctly or isn't working at all. Try running a very obvious texmod to see if that is the case.
Thanks a lot for the quick reply. I managed to make it work, as well as the texture overhaul mod. I still can't for the life of me figure out how to install your freckles mod, though. I'm that much of a noob. A shame because it looks great I'll look around for more tutorials on how to do all this.

Upscaling to 2048 did the trick, thank you very much for the help, and the quick reply.
