This is by far the best mod for ME1, thanks so much for this!!! This mod singlehandedly allowed me to enjoy this game after I almost quit 4 hrs into my first playthrough. I was going crazy from frustration due to how long running around took and how I kept selecting conversation items by mistake while skipping thru dialog.

You can modify downloaded BIOInput.ini with some text editor (for example Notepad++ ), but first uncheck "Read-only" (right click on file and click Properties ) and then edit and when you finish check "Read-only". By the way, in notepad++ and other similar apps you can click Ctrl+F and write what you want find to easy find key what you want change. After that check if new key is not used for anything else (Ctrl+F and write your new key name ) and if it is then change to something else.
For this game unfortunately it will overwrite changes (ME2 and ME3 are better as there is possibility of making DLC mods what only modify in the fly certain entries in files ). In that case only way of having changes from both mods is adding changes from one mod to file of another mod. I added optional file - it is instruction how you can add changes from my mod to your file. It is quite easy if mods not modify the same entries. But if mod what you are using edits the same entries then you must manually merge these or decide to not add certain entries from my mod or replace entries of another mod (or you can change stuff in entries of one of mods - for example if both mods change entries for the same keyboard keys so other solution than merging entries is changing keyboard key for that and if you using key what already is used for something else then you must change also that for some key what isn't used so not conflict with other entry ).
Can this be installed at any moment, or does it follow the general rule for this game, install content stuff before textures to not break anything? Cuz s#*! this is an essential. Played this game for the first time these last days and altough it was enjoyable, going around with this vanilla speed is so f*#@ing boring
Yes, you can install it at any moment not matter how your game is modded. Mods with configuration files are one of few exceptions what can be installed at any point. So it not matter if you installed already texture mods or not.
