Thank you so much for this. I've always hated how red everything looks, like we're playing certain Doom levels or something. Now it finally looks like a garden world.
Wow this looks really great, the blue sky totally makes the planet feel like it has more depth! I think the same monotone reddness felt like I was on some kind desert planet rather than a verdent paradise. Its a small change but it looks really awesome, so thanks for making it and sharing!
I'm honestly surprised that anyone besides me ever noticed that lol. It's like, I get why BioWare did it - they wanted to make Eden Prime seem like this surreal hellscape. But even multiple fires going off all over the place wouldn't cause the sky to look like it's literally on fire from all sides. Even at dawn and dusk, at least one side of the sky would be darker than the other.
I'm a fan of the red sky, but I think I'm even more of a fan of the way the blue sky and the red earth contrast against each other. From what I've seen of LE it looks a bit too bright, but this is just perfect.
I honestly think the LE's approach seems more realistic. We know Eden Prime is a paradise, but the red sky seems to promote the opposite. Replacing that with thick smoke clogging the map and dust particles better achieves the idea of "paradise under siege" than the original did.
