To those that are waiting for this mod to be transferred into Legendary Edition, no don't need to worry! :D I am working on it right now! I don't know when it will be finished since I am figuring out the new modding tools that have been released this weekend. But I will do what I can to make it happen :) Stay tuned and have a pleasant day!
I would love to know as well, or if you'd consider converting it for LE? I love this armor, but the stats make it tough for me to keep using on higher difficulties.
ok i take back everything i said about the editing sounding simple lol, i cant figure out what specific lines im supposed to edit and what im to properly copy and paste, man i seriously want to get this to work but i cant so any help would be VERY welcome
nvrmind i finally figured it out and its ready 4 upload, BUT id rather it get uploaded onto this page due to it could possibly be considered stealing cuz your mod was the basis for it plus i dont want to take all the credit hehe
Sry for late response. But all races that wear Onyx armor are affected by that change, not only humans. So you don't have to worry about Tali :)
However, I don't plan to do that with other armor brands like Phoenix for Ashley, Agent for Garrus, etc because they are in a better state than Onyx imo. When you drop their armor to level 10 they are in a much better state than Onyx ever was. Especially when I played on higher difficulties, Shepard was the one that was downed the most during the fights.
better late than never right XD, honestly i didnt realize any of that till u told me haha, i just wondering cuz i thought everyones armor could be totally OP and knowing its possible to edit the stats made me want that. how did you edit the file used to change the stats anyway?
First, you need to have ME3 explorer, then find Engine.u through Package Explorer. After that, I open Office Excel. Towards the bottom of the file find something like 2DA_Equipment_X , inside which there is the table Items_ItemEffectLevels. It's was a long process because the columns are not exactly the same with all armor brands. And you have to replace names from GamePropertyLabel and ItemLabel from Colossus to Onyx. When you're done, just pass that through Package Explorer into the Engine.u
i cant c a way to change GamePropertyLabel and ItemLabel, then again im not a very experienced mod maker but i do c 167654,142436,143389,143390 on both the Colossus and Onyx GP_Item_Desc & GP_Manf_Armor_Name(L,M,H) lines is that what im looking for?
I thought you were doing this only for yourself, but for public release you should probably look into making this a DLC mod (modifying basegame files like Engine.u works and is faster, but it's not good for compatibility... e.g. won't work with ME1 Controller for example). Create a DLC mod starter pack in ME3Tweaks mod manager, and look at how I modify some lines in 2DA tables in my ME1 mods for example.
how do you read this file? I only installed mods using Me3Tweaks mod manager and non of the mods in the library list this file in the 'list files this mod installs' window yet it's modified both according to 'manage target' and the file modification date when I went to install this (which clued me in and I haven't overwritten)
I've always wondered why we haven't seen mods like this and just figured it's because this game is so hard to mod. So, yeah great idea! Good on you for tackling this type of mod, and good on all the folks who worked on the modding tools to make this happen!
