I couldn't get it to work, didn't think to copy base mvci folder in case something went wrong, so that's another lord knows how many hours of downloading MVCI thanks to Steam's slow speeds. May try again later this week.
You took the WORSE marvel vs capcom game and you turned it into one of the best ones in the series, AMAZINGGGgg!!!. It is like a comic book that came to life.
Are there any plans to optimize the mod for ppl with lower end PCs. I myself have a GTX 1050ti and an I5-7400 cpu and while some maps play OK, there are others that make the game play so slow that it makes the mod unplayable. I really enjoy this mod but I wish it ran good on my pc. And please don't tell me to get a better rig as that just doesn't seem really fair.
Get a better rig? Bro I'm sure even Max would agree the discrepancy in performance for the Onslaught map vs a regular map is unreasonable. It's obviously a kink that will be ironed out in a future patch. It's also not at all like complaining about playing a PS5 game on the PS3, not sure why you'd even suggest that. That would be completely braindead. This is like if your game has performance drop bugs and you play on the native console, completely reasonable to point out. The discrepancy in the performance of a normal map vs the Onslaught map is borderline stupid for some rigs. 100% sure they will fix this at some point.
Its a mod. There are no specs for mods, generally speaking, for very good reason. They aren't a dev team that can test all kinds of setups to make it work the best across the board; they worked with what they have, which in Max's case, is a very good rig.
This mod is very demanding; so yes, its *exactly* like complaining that you can't run a PS5 game (Marvel) on a PS3 (his inferior rig). I agree, it IS completely braindead!
If they can make it run better, great! But a GTX 1050, bro, are you serious? You're just saying words to say words. It will never run well on that, especially with an i5. It has 4 gigs of VRAM. That is *nothing*.
I get wanting to defend the guy, but he's wrong, and so are you by extension. He's going to need a better rig to run a graphically intensive mod.
The Onslaught map has a bug that was mentioned in the bug section. "I've also found that the Onslaught Reborn stage makes the game run super slow. Plays fine when a reality stone is popped but slows down to be really slow once the meter drains" Hopefully it will be fixed soon because it is a beautiful stage.
@SuperJag86 It runs in the 40s and 50s on my deck with & Beyond installed, while seemingly not maxing my Deck out hardware wise. Base MVCI ran 60fps for me.
If you got to try it on your Deck since you made your post, do you share this experience?
Hi I have a problem I installed it on my steamdeck and yes it works, but I can't activate the new cross fenzy mode we all the characters fight two against two simultaneously, you have to assign the f1 key to the console and yes I did it but when I press, nothing happens the mode does not activate
There's a mechanics only change somewhere. Though I dont know why you'd want that, the art in this game was so ugly it single-handedly lost it an audience.
Is the comic book styling baked into outfits themselves and not engine-wide changes? What I'm looking for is a way to keep the visuals but also keep, say, Chun's DLC outfit the way it was but have it use the new styling instead. As the mod currently is, the everything else that's great comes with changes to outfits themselves that I don't want, like Morrigan DLC colors 2-4 being nothing like the original, and some of those non-universal changes are worse than the original, imo.
I don't think anything can be done from the dev side, but to anyone who was going to use the Xbox PC version of this game for the mod it is an absolute pain in the ass to even attempt to set up the mod. The folder that the Xbox downloads MVCI to is locked down and a nightmare to get into. Also getting into it could also cause other issues on your PC.
A massive improvement in essentially every way over the vanilla game. Visually exactly what the characters should've looked like from the beginning, and very consistently nice looking across the board, aside from stuff that's obviously not finished yet. One exception I might pick on though would be Dormammu and to a lesser extent, Ghost Rider. If possible, it would nice to see the black outline removed or toned down just around their heads, as right now it makes the outline of their skull stand out very harshly from the fire effect around them, and kind of hurts the character design as a whole. This is worse looking on Dormammu, imo. Technically, idk if this is possible with the way the outline shader is implemented, but it would be a big improvement for those two characters.
Does anyone know the character IDs? Some of the replacement songs aren't "it" for me. Like Gamora's (which was one of the good ones, imo) being changed for She-Hulk's.
I believe all you have to do is find Gamora's theme in the mods folder and delete it. The path is MVCI --> Content --> Paks --> ~mods. You should see Gamora's theme in there.

I will do it but will take me some time to get to it.
