Version 3 is here! With it comes a whole new look with some cool new features, such as detail normals (detail down to individual stitches), new gloss maps, giving the suit it’s intended velvety look and some heavy emphasis on the 3D look of everything, from lenses to logos, this suit’s looking better than ever!
WEBBING: The webbing is slightly too bright in dark environments and could probably do with toning down |Looking into| LOGO: The logo on the chest is too dark and will need brightening |Planned for V4|
also in this version comes the original textures as their own optional download, please check the permissions tab in the description for your rights when using the textures, but hopefully these will help out people interested in making their own suit mods.
please keep your comments coming, and let me know if there’s anything else you want to see done with this mod. Can’t promise anything, but any suggestion is valid
Q: Can you replace “___________” instead of Future foundation? A: No, this would require me to either do all the work again over a worse base mesh, or to reconfigure a full outfit and reassign it a new mesh/textures. For right now this seems impossible.
Q: Can you make the lenses/webbing/logo’s pop out? A: unfortunately, not yet. I’ve pretty much pushed the 3D effect as far as I can without any 3D modelling. Until mesh import is possible, this is probably the best we can achieve.
Q: How do I install/uninstall? A: This mod uses the same install process as all others, download the SMPCTool required and activate this mod in the mod manager. To uninstall just deactivate the mod in the manager
This mod was released a week after the game came out, Suit slots were only possible after a few months. I'll probably create a new suit slot version when I get round to V4, but in the meantime every single texture I used to make the mod is available for download in the optional downloads section on the file page. You're more than welcome (and capable) to compile a new suit slot on your own while you wait for my official update.
Wheres the model? I loaded the .smpcmod file into my mod manager and downloaded it and when i played ingame it was just the textures, is there a model smpcmod? where do i download it
IKR?! P good for just a handful o' textures amiright?! But in seriousness there's a custom model planned for V4 whenever I get around to finishing that up. Also got plans to learn the .suit format for that too.
Hey man, Just wanted to say that was a great read about how you did what with different textures! I myself know nothing about it but it was just cool to read tbh. Goodluck with your modding career.
Thanks! I tried to make it as clear as I could, though I'm aware it does go on a bit haha. Hopefully it can be useful if you ever wanted to make your own mods in future!
I see what you did there… haha! I’ll have to see how I’m feeling after V4 of the suit. I’ve been working on updating the Black Cat mod at the moment, which is giving me a good chance to try out different methods of using the model tool without worrying too much about it’s limitations. However it’s also a lot of work designing outfits when I’m not really a 3D artist by trade, so either it’ll give me a new love for 3D design or it’ll burn me out n’ I’ll just have to find out (V4 won’t be affected by that tho).
A lotus suit would definitely be cool to see in game, I'm still waiting for that tasm 2 v4 tho haha can't wait, you put a lot of care and effort into your work and it shows! thanks for the mods you are amazing.
Your prayers have been answered by LDS3D, you can grab the suit here: Lotus Suit?
I found out it was in dev shortly after my previous post, but didn't want to spoil anything until it was out. It's a super detailed design, so I'd definitely recommend checking it out!
Future Foundation I think. Either I missed it in their rambling TED Talk of a description or they failed to mention that super basic fact that literally everyone who downloads this mod would want/need to know.
Hahaha, fair point. It is mentioned in the first 5 lines, though I’ve only just noticed it’s smaller than it’s supposed to be, so I’ll fix up that formatting when I get the chance
.model’s can be opened using the the mesh importer tool, I’d link it if I weren’t on mobile, but you should be able to find it with a few searches online
Nice video, b! If I can, I’d definitely recommend checking out the ‘No-HUD’ Reshade mod, since you run the game with Reshade already, it’d be a great addition. It hides all the unwanted UI parts during recording (like point launch icons and notifications like focus bars being filled)
