WARNING: THIS MOD IS FOR NG+ ONLY WITH ALL CHARACTERS RECRUITED!

-

FROM HIGHBORNE:

General Rules:

  • Each character other than Hunter has 10 cards (4 Commons, 3 Rares, 2 Epics, 1 Legendary), try to include as many different cards as possible

  • Do not include Legendary cards, those still need to be earned via challenges and balance/story.

  • Aim to have 3 Attacks per deck

  • Aim to have no more than 2 Heroics per deck

  • Only include 1 Epic per deck (Hunter breaks this rule)

  • Try to make the decks feel cohesive/usable combos

-

Hunter
  • Mixed Deck: The theme specific decks for Hunter all have a slight increase in power due to including Rares and Epics. This deck aims to be more in line with starting deck power but with variety. The main thrust of this deck is to have all 3 card types represented with “balance” between Light and Dark.  The only non-common card is Bands of Fire simply as an opposite to Whip. The rest are meant to give Hunter a balanced style of play with damage, support, tank and a trade off to play around (Wild Strike vulnerability).

  • Dark Deck: Hunter has 10 Dark cards (3 of which are Epics) and is a more offense oriented deck. The only card excluded is Mindbreaker as it is largely a potential trap or detriment when used as well a high heroism cost. This deck is risky as there is no self-healing or defensive abilities with 2 self-damaging ones.

  • Light Deck: Hunter has 10 Light Cards (3 of which are Epics) and is a more support style deck. The only card excluded is Call to Arms. This is because the deck already has 3 skills, it is Epic.

  • Power Deck: Hunter has 10 Power cards and is the more tanky style of deck. The cards excluded are Deadly Ground and Patience, with Heal substituted in. The reason for this seemingly arbitrary inclusion is that Power Hunter likely needs some self-sustain and Deadly Ground is very weak un-upgraded, and Patience is similarly both a giant nuke and high cost and an Epic card.

Blade
  • The only card not included is Daywalker as it is similar to Strike, an Epic, and I wanted to include the combo of consuming Bleeds with Reaper as it is his core gameplay.  He has 4 attacks, but since he has no defensive abilities this is a fair tradeoff.

Captain America
  • The only card not included is Brooklyn Handshake as the main thrust of Cap is tanking, so The Best Defense is taken as the Epic choice. It allows playing with Shield Bash, Dig In/Counter as his tanking style.

Captain Marvel
  • The only card not included is Rain of Blows as it is counter intuitive to her Binary gameplay due to dumping her block. With the other cards it allows her to play tank or dps and ensures she only has 2 heroics and 1 Epic in the starting deck.

Deadpool
  • The only card not included is Overpowered as a character cannot have 5 attacks, it is Epic, and does very little compared with Death from Above regarding how En Fuego works with it.

Doctor Strange
  • There are 2 cards excluded, Astral Meditation and Vapors of Valtorr, and he keeps 2 copies of Winds of Watoomb. The reason behind this is, Astral Meditation is completely useless in the starting deck as you have no items, and Vapors of Valtorr is both an Epic card and, frankly, horribly overpowered.  This deck breaks rule 4 (Aim to have 2 Heroics) intentionally.

Ghost Rider
  • There are 2 cards excluded, Hellmouth and Hell’s Fury, otherwise he would only have 2 Attacks. Hell’s Fury was chosen instead of Immolate as he is Heroic heavy and it is Epic. Hellmouth seems like a strange choice to exclude, but un-upgraded it does very little for Ghost Rider early game.

Hulk
  • The only card not included is Mighty Blow, primarily because it is a Heroic, Epic, and feels similar to Rampage.

Iron Man
  • There are 2 cards excluded, Precision and Air Superiority, and he keeps 2 copies of Quick Blast to maintain 3 Attacks. The reason to exclude Precision is that it is somewhat difficult to use early game without having a deck setup for it, and Air Superiority is excluded because it is Epic and very strong if not playing on the Ultimate difficulties. This deck breaks Rule 4 (Aim for 2 Heroics) by having a single Heroic.

Magik
  • There are 2 cards excluded, both Epics. Reinforcements and Limbo’s Grasp, are two cards that are complete opposites. Reinforcements is a high cost Heroic that is, frankly, terrible un-upgraded (and just in general), while Limbo’s Grasp is build defining and one the strongest cards she has. This breaks the rule of having 1 Epic card, but Magik is very strong regardless.

Morbius
  • The only card not included is Mist Form, primarily because conceal is amazingly powerful and it is Epic. Feeding Frenzy also enables his combo (similar to Blade), though means that he has 3 heroics. Luckily his other two are low cost.

Nico
  • The only card not included is Double Up, first off it is Epic, second she has 3 skills already, third, it is quite a niche card. Overall, Nico’s deck is really strong.

Scarlet Witch
  • The only card not included is Chaos Reigns because it is a 3rd Heroic, Epic, and Chaos Field plays with her positioning expectations.

Spider-Man
  • The only card not included is Webslinger as it is almost counter to his deck mechanics insofar that many of his cards do not deal damage. Doing this breaks the rule of only 2 Heroics.

Storm
  • The only card not included is Call the Lightning as it is Epic, a 3rd Heroic, and she already has enough damage being thrown about.

Venom
  • The only card not included is Spike Burst as it is a 4th Heroic, 2nd Epic.

Wolverine
  • The only card not included is Lethal Pounce as it is a 2nd Epic, would be a 4th Attack, and Rapid Healing gives a little bit of tanking ability that he sorely lacks.

DETAILS:

  • This mod should ONLY be used for an NG+ save that's made with the mod installed. That's because I had to mess around with a lot of files to make it possible for each hero to have 7+ cards each, and it may negatively affect your game if you keep it installed longer than necessary.

  • When you install this mod, start your NG+, check the decks, and then make a save. After that, close the game and REMOVE the mod. This should be fine to do because your decks have already been saved. Doing this also hopefully reverts all the crazy changes I had to do to make these decks possible.

  • Cards are base cards, none are upgraded/modded.

SEPARATE DOWNLOAD:

  • Skip Upgrade Card Objective: Prevents the risk of getting stuck in the game by removing the upgrade card objective at the yard. Interact with the sword and exit the screen (without needing to do anything). After that, the game should prompt you to talk to Captain Marvel.

-

COMPATIBILITY:

*Since this mod should be removed immediately after starting an NG+ and making a save, then either of these mods can be used after that.

-

INSTALLATION:

Extract pakchunk999-BelinnStarterDecksHighborneHeroes_P.zip and the Highborne Hunter Starter Deck of your choice and put the .pak files in Steam\steamapps\common\Marvel's Midnight Suns\MidnightSuns\Content\Paks

To uninstall, delete the .pak files from the same folder.

Reminder: don't forget to also install the Skip Upgrade Card Objective file.
