Permissions and credits

Adaptive Bandits Difficulty

The mod will make your bandit raids no longer be capped at a specific number (usually 4 bandits).

The size and frequency of bandit raids now increase according to your total wealth (regional wealth + treasury) and your total units.

Important!!
When loading a savegame, it is recommended to load the savegame one more time after the first load for mods to work properly.

For those who want to customize the mod's configuration and understand the logic behind it, you can read more in Mod Details section for the specific % chances and custom configuration.

Installation (PC-STEAM)

  • This mod requires the installation of RE-UE4SS, follow the instructions on the github page:
    Quick installation guide:
    - Download the latest release: UE4SS_v3.0.1.zip
    - Extract it to your ManorLords installation path -> ManorLords\Binaries\Win64\
    (For steam it's usually steamapps\common\Manor Lords\ManorLords\Binaries\Win64\)
  • Unzip the archive into your ManorLords installation path -> ManorLords\Binaries\Win64\Mods\ (This folder should be there from the installation of RE-UE4SS)
  • You should now have a folder called adaptiveBanditsMod in ManorLords\Binaries\Win64\Mods\
  • Run the game.

Installation (PC-GAMEPASS)

I'll be happy to credit anyone who can provide UE4SS installation guide for gamepass installers.

Mod Details

Each year, there's a check whether to spawn a raid or not. You can read below how it's calculated below.
Raiders will spawn at a random location each time. Each raid has: 60% chance to spawn a single giant force, 30% chance to split the force into 2 and spawn in 2 different locations and 10% chance to split into 3 forces.

The mod uses a configuration file called config.lua , this file will keep track of a single savegame progress. If you want to start a new savegame, you will need to revert back to original config.lua values (Can just redownload the mod files and replace).

Now for details regarding the mod configurations:

  • By the default, there is a base value of 0 for spawning bandits, defined by the parameter: chanceToSpawnRaiders_baseValue
However, the chance exponentially grows as you accumlate more total wealth (regional wealth + treasury). The max chance to spawn is 40% per year.
Meaning, at the start the chance is rather low, and for example, as your reach total wealth of around 3000, the chances start reaching 20%
  • You can increase the chances to spawn raiders by change the chanceToSpawnRaiders_baseValue value from default 0 to any number you want (100 being 100%)
  • Each raid has a 5% chance to spawn bandit reinforcements, defined by: banditReinforcements_chance
  • There's a grace period of first 450 days of the game before raids can be begin, defined by: minDaysTotalToRaid
  • By lowering the value of banditSpawnerDivisor you can increase the amount of bandits to spawn, increasing the value will decrease the amount of bandits that will spawn. I found that the value 30 seems to be in a good spot.
  • minDaysSinceLastRaid and minDaysUntilNextRaid are used to avoid having combined raids with the vanilla bandit raids, changing these values to 0 will allow those to happen.

As you play the game with the mod, the config file will update on a yearly basis in order to keep track of your current savegame. Switching to a completely different savegame will probably break the mod from spawning. So it is recommended to reset the config.lua values to their default values if you wish to start a new game.

Compatibility

  • So far seems to work in an old savegames and beta patch. Still recommended to start a new game for this.
  • Not aware of any other mod compatibility issues, probably supports the experimental version as well (untested).
  • Mod only supports a single savegame, running a multiple save games is not supported. Reset the config.lua to original value to start a new game.
  • Supports beta branch 0.7.965

Known Issues

  • Game may crash if you reload too many times or save scum too many times.

Uninstall

  • Delete ManorLords\Binaries\Win64\Mods\adaptiveBanditsMod\ folder
