    Installation

    • Download and then go inside the "Install In Game Folder" folder.
    • While inside the "Install In Game Folder" folder, highlight everything by pressing CTRL + A.
    • Drag all highlighted files to your Mafia DE game folder, replacing all files.
    • Done.

    - All mod files here are in their latest versions up until September 24, 2024.
    - I will update the Bonus Tips For Story Mode.txt file sometime later when I have more free time.

    - All Italian text was carefully translated by using and cross-referencing translations from three (3) different websites:
        - https://context.reverso.net/translation/ for both phrase-by-phrase and word-by-word translation + multiple examples of its  usage in various sentences with various context
        - https://www.deepl.com/en/translator also for phrase-by-phrase translation and to help give a different context
        - https://www.wordreference.com/ for accurate word-per-word translation with hundreds of different definitions & different uses per word.

    - All subtitles that are in Italian are now translated to English;
        - All Italian dialogue + added the Italian dialogue Salvatore spoke of when he tells you to take the car but was not included in the subtitles in "Visiting Rich People" 
        - All other story chapters such as Luigi's small conversation with a guy in "Molotov Party", the old woman's rather interesting dialogue in Bertorelli's Bakery in "Ordinary Routine", Pepe's Restaurant cutscene with added mini-descriptions of all Italian & Sicilian dishes  mentioned in "Bon Appetit", opening cutscene of "Sarah" that adds the Italian words Luigi spoke of but was not included in the subtitles (cattivo ragazzi = wicked men), etc.

    - Translation work was done so that it doesn't sound and / or feel flat and generic the moment when characters speak their respective language. A lot were edited and revised to perfectly fit into various factors such as context, characterization, and responses that are most fitting for the situation that reflects the character very well. The game's style of writing was kept as the main basis for the edits so none of the translated dialogue feels out of character.



    •  ScriptHook Revamped + Free Ride Deluxe Small Unofficial Update 1.2 (September 22, 2024) by LavaSplasher
    - Compatible with ScriptHook, ScriptHook Revamped, Free Ride Deluxe, and all ScriptHook mods made by Kamzik.

    - [ScriptHook update] Teleport menu expanded, with a new "Teleport2" in the ScriptHook menu since all locations can't fit in 1 single Teleport menu & sub-menu. It now includes all locations in the game, including cutscene-exclusive locations & Free Ride mission locations. No need to find a phone / phonebooth to teleport to an exact location you want. Just use the Teleport option in ScriptHook.

    - [ScriptHook update] Bodyguard Spawner heavily upgraded & expanded. A total of 68 different unkillable NPC bodyguards all wielding Golden Tommy Guns can now be spawned from the Bodyguard Spawner menu. No need to activate "Bodyguard Godmode" since they are unkillable by default, which includes being invulnerable to melee attacks (the original .lua script doesn't prevent them from dying due to melee attacks from enemies). Also, there's no need to use the search bar to type the names of these NPCs since they will immediately appear upon opening Bodyguard Spawner menu. The list of characters that can be spawned includes all known members & associates of both the Salieri Crime Family & Morello Crime Family. The list is arranged according to who are closest / who are the most powerful allies of Tommy, with the most influential ones appearing at the top of the list in descending order.

    - [ScriptHook update] In "Weapon" menu, 
           - Selecting "Give Best 6-Weapon Set" will now give you the six (6) best weapons in the game (Crowbar, Gold Pistol, Magnum Revolver, Golden Tommy Gun, Golden Shotgun, and Sniper Rifle)+ 2 grenades & 2 molotovs + refills health immediately.
           - Selecting "Refill Health / Ammo / Throwables" will refill everything as mentioned.

           -  selecting "Reset Damage" for both Local Vehicle & Vehicle In Sight will automatically not only repair all vehicle damage but also repair all engine damage, refill fuel to full tank, completely clean out all rust and dirt, and refill player's health & all weapon ammo + throwables (grenades & molotovs) to full capacity.
           -  re-organized the sub-menu list so that "Reset Damage" appears at the top of the list for quicker & easier selection. Also corrected some typo errors (from ammount to amount & fuel / dirt / rust can actually be set from 0-200).

    - [Free Ride Mode only] In Phone Services > Call Vincenzo (Weapons) from the phone / phonebooth, all missing weapons are now included (mostly the golden variants of some firearms)

    - [Free Ride Mode only] In Phone Services > Call A Friend from the phone / phonebooth
        -  all spawnable NPCs are now also invulnerable to melee attacks from enemies. The original .lua script from Free Ride Deluxe didn't allow this and they would still die from a few melee hits from enemies.
        -  changed all weapons of all NPC Bodyguards (all except the Special Characters since they're unarmed and they have a Civillian AI spawnprofile that prevents them from using weapons) to the Golden Tommy Gun. After testing them wielding all other weapons in various combat situations with both cops & Morello's goons, I found that the Golden Tommy Gun is the most effective in all medium-long range combat and also  in performing drive-by while inside your vehicles.

    -  Sarah now has a sub-menu of "Tell Sarah what to wear..." that allows you to choose what specific character model of her you want to spawn. 

    - [ISSUE/S] - Spawning Sarah & Biff's Chinese Girl as NPC bodyguards via the  "Bodyguard Spawner" does a T-Pose when doing driveby while inside your vehicle.  Unfortunately, even after spending 2 hours through trial-and-error to fix this issue (even copying the exact .lua code that fixes this issue in spawning NPCs via the phonebooth from Free Ride Deluxe's "Friends.lua"), nothing worked and the issue  remained no matter what. Anyone is welcome to fix it for me.

      Updated it just now with some fixes and improvements
      - Translated some more Italian subtitle text I missed.
      - Selecting "Reset Damage" in Vehicle menu will now also refill your ammo & throwable items.
      - In Weapon menu; 
          - Selecting "Give max ammo" will now give you a full weapon set of the best weapons in the game + refill your throwables.
          - Selecting either "Give grenades" or "Give molotovs" will now refill both + all weapon ammo as well.

      - Added "New gunshot sounds" and "Improved the shooting and combat feel" to the customized Gameplay Overhaul mod.
      - Added more NPC bodyguards for the Bodyguard Spawner + replaced some with better models

      Hey, I really appreciate the work. I love everything included in the pack except for Tommy The Car Enthusiast and the whistling and ammo discarding remover that come with it. Is there any way I can get rid of those? I assume I have to delete certain things with the toolkit.

      I honestly have no idea what files were touched for Whistling mod + Discard Ammo on Hard & Classic. I can help you remove only SOME stuff from Tommy - The Car Enthusiast but I highly doubt that would bring a satisfactory result to what you want. Thing is, I got the help of mostly noobmodder12 in merging + updating these mods over the years since like 2022 up to the present time. I only added my own small but original features here and there since I do know my way around some of the files.

      Your best chance is to ask noobmodder12 to do this for you. A word of warning though; it may take from a few days to 3-6 months in order for him to respond and / or grant your mod request. The way he goes online and whether or not he chooses to respond to you is quiet erratic and unpredictable so you can only hope that he responds to you somehow. I only get lucky in my timing whenever I want a mod request from him.

      Why is it that in the weapon wheel guns (at least the pocket revolver and semi automatic, as of now) aren't shown properly (empty icons)? Baseball bat worked fine though.

      Also, I get some weird, random enemy voicelines like in Salieri's bar during storymode or while driving. Some of which are:
      "Kill him!"
      "He's here somewhere."
      "Going somewhere?"

      - I have no issue on the weapon wheel icons on my end.

      - If you read the features of Gameplay Overhaul, you'll realize that those voicelines come from enemy patrols walking on the streets, especially if you pass by near them while riding around inside a car. Sometimes, ally Salieri gangsters will react to enemies located near the bar, hence the voicelines from your allies. Both allies and enemies can detect each other at a certain wide radius so that's what triggers those voicelines.

      - Lastly, stay tuned since I'm working on a huge final update to the modpack. I'll release it sometime during December 2024 :)

      - I think I fixed it by simply... Installing the entire pack lol. But it's also the fact that the whole weapon carry increasement kinda breaks the weapon wheel and weapon switching (at least on gamepad, as for the latter). Makes it especially hard during car chases to actually fire ONE gun, it tends to switch and fire one bullet, then switches to the next.

      - Ahhh, got it. That explains it. Explains the green markers during missions too randomly appearing in the city.

      - Sounds awesome. I really like this modpack. Really hope we get  a mod that  adds back the original's OST too, maybe even some of the original's mission structures but that might take a while, sadly.

      Also, do you know if any mod edits the Speed limit? It kinda changes a lot and is set to pretty high values, unlike vanilla? The race also seemed a bit easier than before (kinda luckily, even, lol) and generally handling seems a bit easier?

      Lastly, the game seems to get stuck when I try to quit it. It displays the cabbie Tommy loading screen and nothing happens.

      - The modpack already includes a nice merge of both the old radio OST from the original Mafia (2002) and the remake's radio OST. It's the "Original Radio Tracks" mod by TenLucas & Kamzik123, which is literally mentioned in the list of mods. Do try to take the time to read the list of mods included + searching what each mod does before mentioning more stuff you wish to include. Chances are, it may or may not be there already. And no, modding the mission structure of Story Mode missions will most likely never happen at this point.

      - Shooting inside a vehicle while using a controller is easy; just hold the fire button to fire your weapon. Tapping it once will switch your weapon to your other handgun. Better get used to it (haha see what I did there lol). Also, the purpose of carrying more weapons is to help make the game feel more fun and free-spirited and less restrictive, not to mention that the original Mafia TCOLH (2002) version allowed you to carry multiple weapons as well. Being able to carry 2 handguns allows you to perform driveby shooting inside vehicles for much longer, making it more viable in practical use for general gameplay rather than stopping yourself from doing it due to handgun ammo being very limited. Also the reason why I edited some of the scripts in ScriptHook trainer so that you can refill your ammo as well when you select "Repair vehicle" in ScriptHook while inside a vehicle. I basically thought of everything to make things more convenient and fun for the player while also staying true to the game's immersive realism.

      - I don't know what files noobmodder12 edited to increase the speed limit values before getting the cops attention for speeding. I beated Story Mode in Classic difficulty multiple times using this modpack to test out everything and to be honest, the vanilla speed limit values are actually really annoying since you get caught for speeding often at the worst times during Story Mode and going slightly above 40 is also still really slow, especially while driving around the main highways and roads within the city. 60 being the speed limit is just right and is more practical and realistic. Also, I got his help in merging many mods in the modpack that uses the same files. Don't waste your time asking even the creator of Mafia Toolkit (Greavesy) and others like Kamzik both here in NexusMods and in the Mafia Toolkit Discord server since they wouldn't know either, just like how I tried doing just that many times before when I was customizing Gameplay Overhaul mod by removing a few stuff and merging it with other mods that uses the same files. Your best bet and only option is to ask noobmodder12 himself, who goes online and offline randomly and stays offline for weeks and months unpredictably. You need to catch him online completely by chance to have a chance of him making the edit for you.

      - "Reduced rubberbanding" is what causes the race to be much easier and beatable on 1st try, even during Classic difficulty. Again, it's a nice change since people shouldn't spend too much time on a casual race, especially for replaying Story Mode. It's balanced since while it made the race easier, the AI opponents aren't too slow either as they can instantly catch up to you within 5-7 seconds if you spin out of control or go to a complete stop even just for a little bit. You still need to drive really well until the very last lap to win the race.

      - As far as I remember, the loading screen issue while quitting the game from Main Menu is an issue that's also present in the vanilla game. I remember that happening to me often even way back then before I even got into modding Mafia DE. No way to fix this so far, even if you tried searching for fixes in PCGameWiki. Just press Alt + F4 whenever it happens to close the game completely.

      - Yep, I did read the list of mods but I misunderstood and thought that I could simply pick and choose, basically, if I know which files belong to what mods / changes. And yeah, I had a feeling story mission overhauls will most likely not happen ever. Such a shame that the remake didn't  deliver on the "Definitive" part of it.

      - Ahh, got it, I probably tapped because I only wanted to shoot one or two shots. As for the rest, I actually like the change that I can carry more guns with me but it does seem to be the cause of missing icons in the weapon wheel at times. :/ What would I have to do, if I wanted to remove the change? Just in case I decide to do so

      - Yeah, the config file (game_constants.xml) seems to be unchanged in regards of the speed limit. Weird. But it's nothing too bad, just curious if I can revert it on my own.

      - Ahhh, rubberbanding it is then. Got it. Yeah, I had to do the race 10 times before finally winning - kinda felt rewarding  but a second time would have been too much lol

      - Damn, so no fix for that. I only got the issue after installing Scripthook and everything, that's what's weird about it. Hopefully I can get rid of it.

      Just tested both your Mafia III mod pack and this one and I must admit that you're insane for putting these merges together and somewhat keeping the features between this mod pack and the Mafia III mod pack the same such as keeping the NPC grenade call out in Mafia III because the Mafia 1 Gameplay Overhaul does not remove the callout plus keeping the police radio enabled between the two packs. Doing God's work putting these together and keeping it all balanced.

      I must ask due to how picky I am about lore friendliness, the real life weapon names being an eyesore due to length, and disliking the PS4 buttons . If I removed the stringtable_en.sds and the GUI .sds files from both mod packs, would I only be removing the real weapon names (both MDE and MDIII), real vehicle names (MDE), real vehicle logos (MDE), and the PS4 layout? Thanks again for making these packs and going through hell to merge them.

      yea this pack is awesome because it has most of my mods already but this mod i wish it had some optional options.
      it seems easy enough to take out what i don't want though hopefully.

      i don't know much of modding but the issue with the females is that they don't have the weapon and shooting animations so they mess up sometimes.
      to the other person about the the ammo files, that probably likely is in tables file based on what i know from mafia 2.

    @noobmodder12 what file did you modify to remove the blood overlay on npcs when shot, but it remains when you melee them? Is there a way to keep the blood overlay and multiple gunshot wounds too?

    good afternoon, I installed this mod pack Customized Gameplay Overhaul + Merged Mods, and it produces 9 fps. What is the problem, can anyone please help? A REGULAR GAME ON MAXIMUM GRAPHICS SETTINGS WITHOUT MODS is 60 FPS and EVERYTHING WORKS PERFECT.

    Can someone help me and tell what file do i edit to change ammunition related settings? Like carrying capacity for different weapons, how much you collect from enemies, from ammo box etc. Also wondering how to edit weapons stats like accuracy, firerate etc

      I was planning on modified this mod to my preferences but you've save me a lot of time !
      Just need to redo the Browning HP and find how to get a better camera in ADS (I would like a "over the shoulder" cam style like in the recent RE games) if someone can help me with that it would be awesome :)

      @Seikyrim - You might need to ask another modder to do that since noobmodder12 isn't as active anymore. I honestly got lucky that I managed to get his / her help on this. Just saying. 

      Go ask the modders that somehow modified the camera in-game, whether its the vehicle camera or the camera on foot. I think zalteredbeastz (modder of Project realism - Lost Heaven - https://www.nexusmods.com/mafiadefinitiveedition/mods/5 ) did the better ADS camera thing that you want in his / her mod. He / She might give you a good idea on what file you should modify. I dunno about the Browning HP since only noobmodder12 has managed to do that.

      @Seikyrim - Hey again. I was digging through the game files the other day and I think the files that involve the ADS camera are inside the tables.sds file. Go and unpack the tables.sds file via Mafia Toolkit and check it out for yourself.

      As for the Browning HP, go ask noobmodder12 to do it for you since he / she has just updated this Gameplay Overhaul mod (though it doesn't mention anywhere what the new changes / updates are for some reason.).

      Thank you for the compilation. I just removed the gui mods because I am using an Xbox controller. Seems to work very well, I also went ahead and added the 4k story and side characters mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/mafiadefinitiveedition/mods/135) on top of this as well and all is tip top.

      @Cruush - Glad to hear it, but I hope you didn't just delete the "shared_gui.sds", "pregame_gui.sds", & "ingame_gui.sds" from the mod files since those files contain some of the features from other mods like the Better Reticles and the UI display for the car brand logos for the cars from Tommy - The Car Enthusiast mod. I hope you actually used the Mafia Toolkit and opened up the "ingame_gui.sds" file (which is the only file changed by the Playstation Icons mod) and replace only the files that involve the Playstation Icons mod with the default vanilla version (since the game uses the Xbox UI controls by default when you use a controller).

      If you did the latter, then all of the mods will work fine for you. I can guarantee you that. If you did the former, download the mod compilation again and use Mafia Toolkit to open up the "ingame_gui.sds" file and find the file/s in it that changes the icons to Playstation UI and replace them with the vanilla one. You have to get a copy of the vanilla and unmodded "ingame_gui.sds" file and get the vanilla files from there in order to replace those same files inside the modded "ingame_gui.sds" file.

      I started using KB&M once again once I got to more of the shooting missions. So I just now replaced all the files.

      Appreciate that information either way though. Great to know more about modding Mafia

      This is totally amazing. Thanks to all. I think I just went with the vanilla mod with the special music mod too.

      I want to be able to turn the mission text off with full HUD if possible.
