I already had an similar mod to this with all vehicles spawning anytime but there were lots of busses and trucks spawning unrealisticly like the SWAT truck or the betting bus. Thanks to this mod it became better. I've also wanted to be able to change the years in free ride for a long time. Like when I change the year back to 1930, only cars from 1930 or earlier will spawn. Maybe you could also try doing that.
I love this mod it's great and it really helps free ride feel more realistic. The only thing I noticed is that the Shubert Six Police doesn't spawn at all. Also is there a way to increase the the traffic density? Lost heaven has a fair amount of traffic. I just feel like if it had a bit more it would make the city feel more alive.
I couldn't find a way to get both poilce cars to spawn in regular traffic, seems the game only allows for one or the other. Guess Lost Heaven PD upgraded all their cars.
I'm not aware of any way to increase density at the moment.
I actually noticed this as well, and I found a kind-of fix for the Shubert Six! If you go into sds_retail and go under the cars folder, you can switch out the names and get both police cars to spawn together. For example, I switched the names of the police bike with the Shubert Luxe, so now when I get a three star wanted level they will spawn in addition to the Shuberts. I also replaced the Shubert Luxe Detective with the Bulworth Sentry, which I think is pretty cool. You can experiment around with it, but that's just my fix. Also I do wish there was a little more density in traffic, but I'll live with it, I love this mod's variety!
It's a great mod! But can you please make the car spawn more realistic? For example, More luxury cars will be spawned on Central Island. By the way, I found a bug that Morello's car will be crazily spawned on Central Island(Parked), please fix it if you can.
I know it's late but that's exactly what this mod addresses - https://www.nexusmods.com/mafiadefinitiveedition/mods/90?tab=description
^That mod fixes the traffic variety to what it's supposed to be based from real life vehicle year productions and as to what areas vehicles should spawn more often and areas where they should spawn either less or none at all. It helps give justice to the realism-based design of Mafia DE :)
As a person who used Sparky66's latest November 12, 2020 version of the realistic traffic variety for a couple of months, I observed quite a number of glaring issues in his traffic variety:
(1) Aggressively placed all vehicles in the game in traffic by making almost all of them appear in traffic all at once in all eras (1930, 1932, 1933, 1935, and 1938) and in almost all areas of the map for the sake of variety in traffic. This completely defeats the purpose of the "realism" aspect in the realistic traffic variety. You can often see luxurious cars and sports cars parked by the sidewalk in the poor and industrial areas of the map like Holbrook and Works Quarter, which are vehicles that aren't supposed to be in those areas most of the time.
(2) Some vehicles (particularly the Hank A Truck, Parry Bus, and some of the luxurious cars) either super rarely appear or never appear at all. I remember having to drive around Lost Heaven for 10-15 minutes straight in real life time in order to find at least one Parry Bus in traffic in Free Ride Mode. It also felt like it took me forever to find a Celeste Mark 5 and an Eckhart Crusader in traffic even if I was already driving around Downtown and Central Island. Despite the economic depression at that time, you can bet that there were still many rich people who drive around fancy cars. Public transportation (specifically riding buses) was a popular thing due to the economic depression that took place during the Prohibition Era setting of the game so to barely see any buses around just looked wrong. Many people at that time who were financially-challenged preferred riding the bus than the taxi because the fare was cheaper.
(3) The Culver Airmaster & Bolt V8 being everywhere issue was still not resolved and regulated in Sparky66's mod. The Culver Airmaster should not be a common vehicle to be seen everywhere because its real life counterpart (1934 Chrysler Airflow) is actually a luxurious vehicle, and it looks the part too.
(4) Added a DLC-exclusive vehicle in traffic; the Black Cats Motorcycle. DLC vehicles in this game should only be made exclusively available and unique to the player. Otherwise, it loses its unique value altogether as a DLC vehicle.
If you want a truly realistic traffic variety, you're far better off using the mod nptr and I made. It took Sparky66's settings and fixed all the glaring issues I mentioned and offers much more.
