This makes the game a bit more enjoyable for me, only mistake is the common AK-47 mix up. The weapon in game is based off the AKM, which was already far more common by the time this game was set it. It can be identified by the angled barrel shroud.
The grip actually did not change from the AK-47 until the 74 model when it switched to polymer. The AK-47 had several different types of receivers, mostly milled and welded. For the AKM they switched to stamped sheet metal and rivets. The rivets can be seen in game too.
Dude he meant that the game has a weird fusion between the two kind of with some parts from each model of gun put on it is cool you know all this but you need to calm down you are being extremely annoying
Does this tool not work with Mafia III? I've been all over looking for .xbin files and can't find any. I'm a totally newbie at this kind of stuff, so it's no surprise I can't find them nor have I figured out how to get the below tool to work.
I've also noticed that the Mafia III cars aren't as close to their real "inspirations" as they were in Mafia II. At least for the Muscle cars I looked at. Mostly they were missing or had completely different front ends from the iconic grills of the Dodge Charger or the Chevrolet Camaro.
While changing the names wouldn't be particularly difficult, I'm not too fussed about it, particularly since it would require texture changes in order to update the logos not only on the cars themselves but also when you enter the car.
Someone made a Real Car Name Mod for Mafia II and did only the text change. I'm guessing because changing the logos would be way too much work. Plus, though Mafia II was consistent in keeping their fictional brand names consistent with all the cars, i.e. Smith = Ford, Shubert = Chevrolet, Potomac = Pontiac, etc., Mafia III has not been as consistent as you will find the Mafia III Makes actually include completely different real makes, i.e the Berkley Altamont is the Chevrolet Bel Air while the Berkley Country Sedan is the Ford Country Squire. So, I would skip trying to do any logo changes on the car textures. The text only fix is the simplest fix. Only, if it was simple someone would have done it already. I have a list of the real car names from another website, but I have no idea how to find the Mafia III item to edit, how to edit it and how to make it a downloadable mod. Oh well. But thank you for this mod, I really appreciate the work that went into it.
Just want to say that this is a great mod which is very helpful with maintaining immersion and thanks you for all the hard work. BTW there's also a very tiny mistake that the Mac-10 aka MK1020 still has its old name in the store's description.

I'm playing the definitive edition.
