I'm trying to fix the bug where umbrellas appear completely white. I discovered that the file responsible is located pc\sds\tables\ingame.sds and it contains a table called tables\human_pedestrian_colors.tbl which contains the color data for umbrellas, handbags, and other items. In fact, if you look closely, even the bags carried by female NPCs are all white, so it seems like this table isn't being loaded correctly. Does anyone know where this table is called from or how it's supposed to be handled? Maybe there's a missing reference or something preventing it from loading properly. Thanks a lot in advance!
Thankyou so much for this mod, I really appreciate all the effort put into this. I'll report any bugs I encounter as I tend to roam around the map a lot.
Sorry if this comes off as demanding, but could you please remove the added original gun sound effects from the fixes-only version of the mod? Also, regarding your comment about the umbrellas, I encountered a similar bug where Vito's eyes and eyebrows turned completely white. This happened during the scene where Vito first meets Marty and hears him yelling from the street outside his apartment. After quitting to the main menu and reloading by pressing Continue, they went back to normal. Not sure if this helps, but I thought I’d mention it.
I pretty much agree about the gun sounds, since I believe there are some people who prefers the DE's gun SFX. This is something I should've asked for quite a while now, but never got around to it. Maybe keep it as a seperate add-on?
I found out that the Classic Weapons Sound Mod replaces the sound_default.sds file inside the sound_default folder and the weapons.sds file inside the weapons folder. So, I figure if I don’t copy and replace those files, I should be fine. Also, I noticed that the girl in the bathtub looks a bit strange without clothes because the outfit textures are designed in a way that makes her look odd when “nude.” The file responsible for replacing the model is called m13_bitch2.sds, so I decided not to copy it. Just thought I’d share this information—do with it what you will.
Thanks very much with this mod! I've been looking for a mod like this for quite a while now! Before I download, I want to know if this mod fixes some of the following:
Hats passing through Vito's head in some cutscenes + his head looking squashed, particularly noticeable with outfits with hats
Silent newspaper criers (they do talk in The Betrayal of Jimmy, strangely enough. Not sure about the other DLCs since I haven't played them yet)
No facial animations for Vito in some cutscenes when wearing the Mafia 1 and 3 outfit
Only one subtitle showing up at a time on screen, most noticeable during the Italian dialogue in the prologue when Don Calo arrives Not actually a bug, my mistake
I've seen some of these bugs I listed fixed in a video here, but no link for the fixes were provided. Plus, there are probably some other bugs that aren't fixed yet, this video should help you find some bugs you might've missed out on.
Thanks for your interest in the mod! Here’s a response to each point:
1. Hats passing through Vito’s head + head looking squashed with the Mafia 1 outfit, Fixed.
2. Silent newspaper criers: I have fixed this issue, but the fix will be included in the next update.
3. No facial animations for Vito with the Mafia 1 and 3 outfits: I don’t have these outfits in the game, so I haven’t been able to fix the issue. However, it definitely won’t have the hat clipping bug.
4. Only one subtitle showing at a time on screen: I haven’t changed anything here because it’s not a bug. To modify this, I would need to alter how the subtitles are generated.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
Oh, my bad. Seems like the subtitles aren't actually broken; they're the same on bothtwo versions, and two subtitles actually show up at once properly last time I played. I thought I was told the subtitles were bugged in the DE. Also, maybe you can try using this mod if you for some reason have a hard time obtaining the Mafia 1 and 3 outfits.
As for the physics, I had already discovered what they mentioned here. In fact, part of the fix has already been applied in this version of the mod, and it will be fully implemented in the next update. I found out that all of Vito’s files were causing issues.
Oh, wanted to mention something: in case you're trying to find the files for the Mafia 1 and 3 outfits, they should be named vitm1 and vitm3 respectively.
Hi! I just finished playing the Mafia: Definitive Edition with gyro aiming, and it worked great. I was excited to jump into Mafia II: Definitive Edition, but I quickly realized the gyro doesn't work the same way. When I set the gyro to act as a mouse using Steam Input, it only works in the menus, but not during actual aiming in the game, even with the left trigger set to enable it. The only workaround I found is to map the gyro to a stick, but that severely limits sensitivity and doesn't feel good for aiming.Do you know why this happens? Is there something in the game engine or input system that blocks proper gyro support? Thanks for the compilation!
Not sure what I am doing wrong. I installed the enhanced version (even though the file name states it's mafia 3) on a clean install, and deleted all my saves. Joe's adventures wont load and CTD. So I completely reinstalled the game and installed the lite version with the same results. What do I do? Edit: I have found city_crash.sds is the culprit. Installing everything but this file allows Joe's adventure to load up.
Hi! The file is indeed for Mafia 2: Definitive Edition, the Mafia 3 name was just a typo during the upload. Sorry for the confusion. As for the Joe's Adventures crash, I will investigate the issue and provide a fix as soon as possible. Thanks for reporting it!
Hi! I’ve found the cause of the Joe’s Adventures crash and I’m working on a permanent fix for the next update. In the meantime, you can use these original files to restore the DLC and get it working again. Download the fix here
Hello, I had same problem as OP, your fix helped, but now i have CTD at the end of supermarket mission before cutscene - Moment Of CTD, im using GOG Version with enhanced version Lite, Mission Timers Removed - Fix (restore original 3rd-person car view) and DLC Unlocker....
EDIT: I reinstalled game without your mod and joe adventures worked properly.
This video showcases a lot of Mafia 2 Definitive Edition bugs and glitches that are not yet addressed by this mod. Some of the bugs are common and some of them are caused solely because of Tommy Angelo's and Lincoln Clay's outfits for Vito.
cant get the mod to work. well im only basing it off there is no snow on the menu. followed all the installion process extract to the file delete the data and save folders and start up.
I thought I’d share a useful tip: If you change the files after validating them, you’ll most likely end up breaking your saves. If that happens, here’s what you can do:
Download a saved game from the internet.
Delete all data in the Mafia 2 Definitive Edition folder located in Documents.
Open the game (you don’t need to start a new story), then close it. This will create a new Data folder and a Saves folder.
Paste the downloaded save files inside the folder with many numbers located within the Saves folder, replacing any necessary files.
After doing this, you can select a chapter to play without having to start a new game from Chapter 1.

I forgot to mention, apparently the Definitive Edition is missing lots of PhysX effects which can be fixed by using the PhysX effect files from the original game. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind implementing this fix alongside the cloth physics effect fix using the method from GuyFawkesGaming.
I’ll try to fix the Mafia 1 and Mafia 3 outfits.
