yeah I also tried it with the GOG version, no luck it´s a shame GOG version is DRM free, no Denuvo, modders should update their mods to work on the better version.
I'm having trouble with this thing too. I've used the infinite car health cheat (through Cheat Engine) previously with no issue at all. I've read through the posts here and have attempted the instructions that have been offered, which all make sense, but nada. No go. Cheat engine beeps, but past that there's no change. I'd love to get this thing working! I'm using the most current version on Steam. EDIT: I now have it working. I didn't have the box checked in CE to activate it, because I'm dumb evidently! Works great now!
For those struggling, download the latest version of cheat engine and install it. (cheat engine allows you to load LUA scripts that alter gameplay)
Once installed download the file here which is a .ct file (.cheattable) - once down you will need to do the following steps
Load max max the game, it must be running to apply the script.
Tab out of the game and load cheat engine - in the top left hand corner youll see a PC icon with a magnifiying glass - you use this to select the process / program you will be executing a script for. - select Mad Max.
Then next to that icon is an open folder icon - click that and then select the .CT file from this page (FOV Changer)
Once done you will see a pop up saying you use F1 to activate in game and the + or - keys on the numberbad to the left of the keyboard.
Then just load up the game - hit F1 and you will see the camera move then change it using the + or -.
If you have an annoying beep sound just mute cheat engine in the windows mixer.
Hey, can anyone confirm this is working with the current version of the game?
I've used CE before for other titles with success, however, with this one, it doesn't seem to work. - Newest version of CE, directed it to the mad max exe process. - Made sure antivirus/win10 isn't detecting any false positives with cheat engine or the .CT file (or that ct file saved as an exe as described here) - I've tried saving the .ct file as an exe with 64 bit as described in the description here, tried to run it (as admin)/ with CE but no luck (Im running windows 10 64bit) - I hear the little beeps when hitting F1 and NUM PAD + -, but nothing is affected in game. - under the 2 "active" checkboxes for this CE file, the bottom checkbox for "FOV Value (Numpad +/-)" is able to be checked/unchecked, but "Enable FOV (F1)" is not able to be checked/x-marked - I've used similar CE .ct files for other games to modify FOV which have worked just fine
Can you say some more about how you got this working? The file I've downloaded has an error in the script. It's called the the executable MadMax.exe when it's actually called AVAMain.exe (for the version I'm running). When I changed this to the correct name then the data didn't match up. Are you running latest version of Mad Max and Cheat Engine? Did you need to change anything in the script?
Figured out the issue here. If you bought Mad Max on EA's Origin, it's a different version to the retail boxed and Steam versions (which are both the same I think).
This means the Mad Max executable is different. It's got a different name (Origin's version is called AVAMain.exe, the retail and Steam versions are called MadMax.exe) and it's also different internally, so the addresses that the cheat works on are different. This is what causes the script to error out. It can't find the executable and even if you change the name in the script the memory structure is different so the cheat can't find where to change.
Interesting aside (to me anyway). It seems the accepted scene release of Mad Max is the Origin version as it doesn't have Denuvo in it. There was another release by Conspiracy that was the Steam release and so the cheat will work, but it's not a common release. It was also released about a year before the Plaza one, so I don't know if there's anything missing from it. If this doesn't make sense to you, you don't need to know about it anyway :)
tl;dr: This cheat only works on Steam and retail releases, not the EA Origin release. If you have the Origin version the only way you'll get it to work (currently) is to buy it on steam or DVD box
downloaded it .. wtf is cheat engine? .. googled it, downloaded and installed it, skipped tutorial ... wtf now?! ... opened .ct file with cheat engine, tried to save as .exe .. "are you sure you want a useless trainer?" .. i guess?! ... "error, something with an icon" ... right ... launched the .exe, launched the game, mashed all the buttons, nothing happened ... well, whatever, thanks for nothing
