great mod just started using it makes the game so much more enjoyable also not sure if someone has already asked this but is there a way with the mod that there could be an option that locks in the position so you dont always have to hold right click to look around
Is there a way to set up a closer third person camera? If I'm zoomed out while this mod is installed I can angle the camera forward quite a bit, but as soon as I zoom in closer to the character it starts pushing the camera to a top down view and I can't adjust it back down unless I zoom out.
I also don't see a way to raise the position of the camera a bit so the camera is centered on the character rather than their feet when zoomed in.
Also, every time I press left or right CTRL it resets the Camera Distance value under the F1 menu, is that intentional? Makes adjusting the zoom a bit annoying.
Good point on the camera adjust when zooming. I just uploaded a new mod version (0.0.5) that adds an option that defaults to true and removes that pitch adjustment.
As for the zoom resetting, that seems like you might have an invalid or duplicate control path set for your "Hotkey - Camera Zoom Reset" that is causing it to fire at the wrong times and reset the distance. No idea. I can't seem to duplicate.
I haven't messed with any of the keybinds in that menu, tried clicking the reset buttons just in case, no luck there.
Thanks for adding the ability to disable pitch correction, now if only we could push the camera higher so I could play with this camera angle: https://i.imgur.com/vhQtGQb.jpeg
Also what does the "Testing 0.0.1" part of this mod do?
Good catch on the "Testing v0.0.1" thing. Turns out my "testing" mod I use for debugging stuff somehow got embedded in the zip for this mod. That easily could have been breaking the keybinds for this mod. Dunno, Anyway, it's gone now.
I also just uploaded a new version (0.0.6) that adds hotkeys and settings to change the camera's "look" direction, enabling you to change the angle of the camera view away from looking directly at the player avatar's feet. Let me know if you see issues.
TY so much for this mod. I had the same problem with VRising. It somehow makes me feel physically sick when playing at that angle and not being able to see the horizon. Went to steam and saw that the Dev posted that they can't change viewing angle because it would break game mechanics. You are a life saver. Even with clipping it makes the game 1000% better.
Agreed, I'm glad you're enjoying it. Generally these games lock the camera angle because (as you can see when you zoom out far or angle up) the world is much smaller than it seems, and the detail on the sky and such is not as good as the terrain. What the devs don't generally realize is that most folks would rather have the reduced detail than a frustrating camera. -- dd
Yes, look in the file BepInEx/config/available_control_paths.txt. There will be a list of keyboard keys followed by mouse then the key paths for your controller. Use those as the hotkeys. You can leave the existing ones and just separate with a comma if you want to retain the mouse scroll option. Note that you will also need to set the "Modifier" key to something on your controller or set it to blank to have the keys activate without requiring the modifier key. -- dd

Is there any way to map the zoom in/out to controller?

water now fogs up when you zoom out far enough.
