This mod for Tears of the Kingdom is aimed at eliminating the Background Music that plays at Stables, Dungeons, Towns, Overworld, Caves, etc. That way all that is left is the ambiance of the world of Hyrule and the amazing sound effects that usually get drowned out by the really loud Background Music.

Hi there! This is my very first mod for Tears of the Kingdom where I aimed to eliminate the Background Music that plays at Stables, Dungeons, Towns, etc. That way all that is left is the ambiance of the world of Hyrule and the amazing sound effects that usually get drowned out by the really loud Background Music.
This is heavily inspired by the idea that Lylah did for Botw on WiiU (her mod is here: https://gamebanana.com/mods/download/49558#FileInfo_437816) so I thought I would try my hand at doing something similar for TotK!
This was a pain to do as there are no community tools that can edit the byml files so I had to manually research and alter the hexadecimal code of the decompressed file and then recompress it and see the result. Finally got it to a version that can be tested by the community! Please let me know of any issues with this mod and I will continue to look at eliminating some of the other fanfare sounds that happen as well in some situations, but this already makes a HUGE difference in the immersion. I hope you enjoy!
Installation:
Extract the byml.zs file into your atmosphere mod loader for Ryujinx (or Yuzu if that is what you use) so that it can replace the game file with the modified one.
I have included different versions for different updates of TotK. For example: If you are running Tears of the Kingdom on version 1.1.1 then you will use the .zip that says ver_111 and put that extracted file in your mod directory. Please make sure you know what version of TotK you are running so you use the correct mod file
Ryujinx Installation:
Your Direcotry needs to look like this:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Ryujinx\sdcard\atmosphere\contents\0100f2c0115b6000\romfs\Sound\Bgm\
Make sure you put the byml.zs file inside that ending "Bgm" folder listed in the sentence above. This will replace the game's file with this new one.
Yuzu Installation:
Your Directory needs to look like this:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\yuzu\load\0100f2c0115b6000\SilenceOfTheKingdom\romfs\Sound\Bgm\
Make sure you put the byml.zs file inside that ending "Bgm" folder listed in the sentence above. This will replace the game's file with this new one.
