SPOILER ALERT, KEYS AND SCHEME INFO, don't read this or it will spoil the game!!

PART ONE first half hour

Your crew were captured and have been imprisoned behind 7 gates for years, usually within 2 or 3 cages, your weapons are gone, your strength and skills are gone!

One day your crew awaken to find the cages open, the 7 gates are all open and only 1 Crowern Guard remains, what has happened?

There is no immediate way of knowing but as your crew step forward past the 7 gates, 1 of the 7 gates slams down behind you! This is 1 of 7 chances to eliminate as many threats to your crew as possible. As you move forward you see the Crowerns' foes, imprisoned within forcefields, you can unlock the forcefields - releasing the foes and fight them!

Fight them? In the current state of the crew? No weapons and no skills? As you explore your immediate surrounds you find a sunken arena, there are two secret buttons on walls opposite one another. One button opens the bottom of a huge water pool. Lure the foes into the water pool here, see how long they last in 30' of water! But take care! Your crew have two exits open while in the pool, 1. the way you entered and 2. a hidden teleporter in the diagonally opposite corner, but that only works during your 7 chances. When the 7th gate slams down, the teleporters shuts off. It is immediately replaced by a different visible teleporter higher up, that takes your crew to the beach !

When the 7th gate shuts down, many of the Crowerns foes are then automatically released, meaning that you then have many enemies to fight at once! So during your "7 chances" take out as many as possible. There are levers around the outside of the perimeter pavement - these levers release one foe at a time, you can then fight them or lure them to the water pool. If they survive the water, allow them to follow you through the teleporter, you arrive in a small room but there is a side channel there where the foe can be lured to, you can trap them in it!

After the 7th gate slams down, you can never go back to your dreadful jail again, that part of the dungeon is closed. So make the best of the 7 chances period. Or if you feel that the game is moving too slowly, simply slam all 7 gates down and head for the Top Level Beach Teleporter!

After you head to the beach in the higher up teleporter, minor weapons and skills begin accruing to your team. As usual, have a good look around and SAVE THE GAME every half hour!

KEYS ON CROWWERNS MOUNTAIN

Brasss Keys

1 find the first Brass key in the first CAGE
2 Crowern Forest from the green beach stairs, just by the entry stairs
3 Beach Surface, Eastern Shore, in Beach Cage


Gold Keys
1. Western Shore of Beach Surface


Cube Keys
1. Crowern Bogs, 1 is in a treasure chest
2. Crowern Bogs, 1 is in some trees
3 Crowern Bogs, 1 is on the Commander himself


QUICK PLAY

A Start the game, grab 1 key from 1 cage, grab food from 1 cage, jump in the water, turn RIGHT move to furthest corner, SAVE THE GAME!

B Pick up Pit Gauntlets and 2 torches - 1 each for front fighters

C Release the spider in front of you by using the lever - SUGGESTION consider pulling all other levers around the perimeter or just a couple more

D go the nearest CORNER wall, jump down into the dry Arena under the Forcefields

E find the secret buttons, opposite one another half way along, press them

F Lure the spider and other enemies into the water, SAVE THE GAME!

G let them follow you back to your Jail, use the trap room to kill them if they do

H repeat this loop, go back to A viz jump in the water again, turn RIGHT move to furthest corner again etc

I keep doing this until all the enemies in the forcefields have been released OR until you just want to move on to the next phase

J Close all 7 gates of your jail * CAUTION * the exit from the underwater arena back to your jail is now turned off, SAVE THE GAME!

K Now a new teleporter lights up ABOVE the underwater one that took you back to your jail

L jump onto the new teleporter from above

M you land in Beach Surface, grab the key from the Cage in the water, grab the mixing bowl near there (nearby wall)

N ascend Green Stairs, turn left, grab next key from tree

O return to Beach Surface, use Brass Key to enter locked Wooden Door

P diagonally opposite is the gold Key, retrieve it

Q emerge from Beach Surface to Crowwern Prison and stay on the ledge (unless attacked by Medusa etc) turn right, grab final wall torch, enter secret room

[don't worry if you can't stay on the ledge to do that, you will get another chance later]

R head to Mummy Lair in the dry Arena under the Forcefields, use the Brass Keys and Gold Key in this area to find the "Blue Stones" and "Food Stash" underwater - SAVE THE GAME

S NOTE The underwater statue with outstretched arms, this puzzle feature releases the nearby portcullis when a Rapier sword is placed into the statue's arms!

T Enter the Castle Barracks but be ready, there are 10 Skeleton Warriors - your team can retreat back up the castle stairs to the blue stones anytime - so pretty easy really

U try NOT to use up your precious bombs on these warriors, save all your bombs if possible, for 3 nasty spiders COMING UP right AFTER the 10 soldiers!!!

[if you find you are running out of food, did you get the 2nd and 3rd Brass keys? if not exit the castle now and get the Brass Keys from Crowwern Forest, to do that jump in the water near the Gold Key trapdoor but use the unlocked trapdoor to get the keys you need, then return to the water area anduse the 2nd and 3rd Brass Keys!)
