Gear Lock on Tomb Level. you see this on an early training mssion but dont have the key yet. get back to the gear lock via a wooden door on FLOODED once you have the key!
for a thousand years legend has it that Queen Cassia has roamed the dark Beach, green beams have been seen to emanate from her limbs, as she screams into the night with shuddering piercing terrifying evil chants, known only to her some say. she is rumoured to be in possession of the famed Wizard's Virge, which has not seen the light of day for centuries, is she keeping it safe or does she have plans to use it to reduce the Plantagenet Castle to ashes?
MISSION: your crew face a brutal and stark way forward. first of all the beach is pitch dark and there are only three torches to be found in the entire game, where can the crew find a torch? luckily, not far from the starting location, just follow the seaweed! CAUTION: The evil Queen Cassia lies dormant somewhere in the Beach Woods, should your crew disturb her, she will surely utterly destroy your crew, even worse, previously mothballed forces of evil soon arrive to support their Queen, so you'd better be sure ! TAKE CARE!
after gaining a torch or two it is good info to be aware, that there are no more torches, HOWEVER there is a magic orb down in the beautiful Castle, get a number of crew trained up in how to use it?
the stairs from the Beach go to a fairly quiet Dungeon arena, the Chasm down from the beach goes to a fairly busy Dungeon arena but some basic supplies are now on offer in the centre of the Dungeon! grab them!
either way, your crew will need Iron Keys and quite a few, it might be an idea to keep one or two Iron Keys in your back pocket to see where they are needed! (e.g. EXIT)
STRATEGY! It might be good to prioritise the MORTAR in your efforts initially. to do this you must have two iron keys to proceed, if you have them ,take the Southern most pit in Castle Level in the Arena Basin, this descends you to the Southern Beach which is where the QUEEEN is dormant, do not awaken her (hug the Southern surf) and move to the opposite stairs, you will find that two iron keys are then needed! TIP! this mission is easier if you have cleared an adjacent area, to do that, use the paid TRAPDOOR down on the beach and clear that area, this comes in very handy getting the Mortar!
TIP! keep one frost bomb aside for a Wizard encounter! keep one poison bomb aside for a puzzle room encounter
AFTER THE MORTAR : use the "pay for" trapdoor on the beach, this descends you into a busy dungeon scene where plenty of bombs would really come in handy.
once your crew have the mortar then herbs are the next thing to consider, where might herbs be found?
early junior missions
There are two junior missions which can only done at the start of the game: 1. when you are skirting the balconey of the Castle Arena you go past two portcullises, each one you can see stairs going up, you then see stairs going down with a couple of books on a shelf, the stairs arrive in a flooded level
2. from Dungeon Arena Exit you find stairs going down to a Flooded level, turn left and move through a loose grating, then descend the pit down.
Elements receptors, Tomb Level : Fireball, poison bolt, lightning bolt, dark bolt, fireball, dispel, poison_bomb.

LOST CITY when taking down the skeleton Commander, THEN immediately return to lower basins to find a stairs to a new foraging mission! (marked by ivy)
