INSIDE THE MINE, how to fight the Uguardians and the Ice Guardians
STEP 21  head to N wall and move around until you see a huge hulking magma golem standing by the N wallSTEP 22   jump on top of the golem to kill it, ALSO the Mine Key is on the ground where the Golem was standingSTEP 23 now ascend from the Mine Arena through a strange looking incessed mine wall that you can climb upSTEP 24   use Mine Key to open Gates to Advanced Castle, the Skeleton Commanders' WATCH TOWERSTEP 25  note the FIVE ground pressure plates, KEEP OFF the end pressure plate, this opens the wooden door on the E wallSTEP 26 avoiding the fifth pressure plate, familiarise yourself with the other 4 which only monsters can activate so you can freely move over themSTEP 27  now lure the Skeleton Commanders or their Minions onto the 4 pressure plates, they get imprisoned, when all 4 are set, nearby trapdoor unlocksSTEP 28 only THEN can you set off Pressure Plate 5 but no need to yet, your next priority is the now unlocked trapdoor, descend down to RUINSSTEP 29  you now see THE GEAR KEY and the route to THE TOMB (but you need Tomb Keys to actually get there) STEP 30   take all 3 wall torches to open a secret cache RUINS UGUARDIANSSTEP 31  explore around this area, find 2 x Tomb LocksSTEP 32  each Tomb Lock needs a Tomb Key to activate it and in turn, a magic bridge is activated nearby (could be temporarily) to allow you over to THE TOMB entranceSTEP 33 now return to where you grabbed the Gear Key at Step 29STEP 34 move to the S wall and move W until you come to the water channelSTEP 35 drop into the water and you are back at STEP 18STEP 36 if you cannot do that e.g. you are chased by Ugguaradians then simply go back and repeat STEP 17 descend the same trapdoor downSTEP 37   you return to HERDER ISLAND, if the stone door is closed, place an item on the adjacent pavement OR pick up the item, replace itSTEP 38  descend to THE MINE, find the GEAR LOCK - fight the Uguardians, NEXT are the ICE GUARDIANS, take them all down to achieve a big bonus! Swamp you come to a small long forgotten guard room in SE Ruins. look carefully for a secret buttonC 9.  Use first SKULL KEY to enter E RUINS. You drop down to Archers, CAUTION don't let them surround you, but you should be able to find the SECRET BUTTON C 10  Mid forest from Castle (trapdoor where you get the Bow) walk THROUGH stone fountain to cacheC 11   from Castle (trapdoor where you get the Bow) land on Platform: S *RUINS* place items/ remove items from alcoves W Wall, secret door opens NW Wallc 12   in Castle, Wyvern Hall, ROPE and trapdoor down to MID RUINS, see C 13 belowC 13   from C12, fight and kill all the troopers (tough going) you then access the Cache (secret button in North wall) C 14    from Ruins N wall. up W stairs to Castle (past spiders eggs) find bookcases - move through Fake Wall to cache on rightC 15   SW Ruins from trapdoor at C14, look for stone on floor of flooded passage, fake wall on rightC 16  Mid Ruins, in Adv Castle imprison 4 Skeleton Commanders in the cages, trapdoor opens, descend to Mid Ruins, take all 3 torches, secret door opensC 17     in Adv Castle imprison 4 Skeleton Commanders in the cages, CAUTION, SAVE THE GAME, now move onto 5th pressure pad, this opens TWO doors, one at entrance (Secret) C 18 N Mid Ruins (see Routes, K,L, M, N, O) find the short stub pier, on the end of it a magic bridge initiates leading to a CacheC 19   Cemetary Mid S, at E wall go through fake boulderC 20    in Tomb after descending to ground floor, use Tomb Key to exit, ascend ladders, see dirt on floor, fake wall right thereGREATEST ROUTESTO CASTLEsee "BASIC PROGRESS" below STEP L  TO MINEA Find SIDE GATES in Ruins Underwater ChannelsB ascend to Ugguardians BarracksC Go past Spider EggsD Enter Advanced Castle, find puzzle area where 2nd Gold Key was foundE descend to Herder Island approach, enter Herder IslandF  descend pit to THE MINE TO TOMBG requires MINE KEYH enter MINE as aboveI use MINE KEY to enter Skeleton Commanders' WatchtowerJ descend on GEAR KEY pit down, TOMB APPROACH is here TO WOODEN DOOR WITH 4 HUB KEY LOCKSK  enter Forest L  do this by first entering Basic Castle, go down the same trapdoor where you first grabbed THE BOWM   you land in RUINS but take the side passage, enter FORESTN   now find one of the short water canals, enter any of themO this takes you to the Wooden Door with 4 Hub Locks TO CLAYMORE ROOM P head to Zarchton Lagoon, the one where 3 alcoves have to be filled with 3 unwanted objects to open the trapdoorQ  move past the trapdoor, find lever, this opens Claymore roomTO WATER TELEPORTER ROOM   (teleporters may be on or off)R  head to SE corner of Ruins, by Ornate Lock (Castle)S  Jump into under water canal next to trapdoor T  move through fake wall to Teleporter Room U  if Teleporters go ON then OFF again, that was your first visit! Visit early to get the "initialisation" completedHOW DO WATER TELEPORTERS WORK?V   first they must be "initialised" so visit the room as early as possibleW  then once you have visited "THE TOMB" the tomb teleporter "switches on"X   then once you have visited "THE ADV CASTLE" the adv castle teleporter "switches on" etc RAISED CASTLE TELEPORTERSY   See Cache tip C20 - head through portcullis into puzzle hall (fake wall in centre) stairs lead to Raised Castle TeleportersTo SECOND MINE LOCKZ  Once you have the first Round Key it now becomes essential that you head to the 2nd Mine Lock. Do this by returning to the MINEremember you fought the Uguradians and the Ice Guardians, these now need to be finished off completely, hunt them down, a secret door then opens in Ice Guardian baseTO CEMETARY Go straight from the Barracks Room in Ruins N (next to Blue Stones) TO  GATES WITH 2 ROUND LOCKSif you have 2 Round Keys then you also need a spare Iron Key. with that, head to CASTLE where the 2 treasure rooms guarded by Spiders and Wyverns are. ascend the ladders with your Iron Key!TIP there is an Iron Key near the Gear Lock in Cemetary! TO LOST LEVEL  (where 2 Ice Guardians have frozen in time)Once you defeat all the Ice Guardians (there are 4) in THE MINE, a secret door opens, showing a TRAPDOOR, this trapdoor leads to LOST LEVELMASTER SHORTCUT ROUTESthese are alternative routes, sometimes faster sometimes just an alternativeTO HERDER ISLANDShortcut through Castle, THE SPIDER CHAMBER, use Iron Key to ascend 1 level, ascend a 2nd level no key needed, move further into castle - use stairs UP to underwater channel > HERDER ISLAND TO THE MINEMake sure you kill all the Ice Guardians in THE MINE (there are 4) a secret door then opens revealing an inner sanctum in the Mine. This inner sanctum has a shortcut back to THE MINE from the Castle (Skeleton Commanders watchtower)TO THE TOMB when Catacombs Level completedwhen you have worked your way all around the level back to the Claymore Room, the shortcut from the Catacombs back to THE TOMB is open (located on upper balconey)(Remember you can get to Claymore Room from Zarchton Lagoon)STORYYour schooner hit rocks further along the beach after a bad storm and your crew were washed up onto a deserted shoreline, surrounded by boulders and trees. In the distance a huge building rising several stories above the tree line can faintly be made out. And at first, the crew are at a loss to see any exit off the beach or any way to reach the building, but soon your Minotaur spots a hidden trapdoor in the shallow tide coming onto the shore. Sadly, even with his impressive strength, the trapdoor could not be prised open!  The following morning your Sorcerer finds that in one corner of the rocky beach wall, a person can pass through the apparently stony barrier! Through the rock face he finds a stairway down, to flooded dungeon passages of mystery and horror. Eerie skeleton archers patrolling the passages, fire arrows of death at anything that comes near.BASIC PROGRESSSTEP A   move along the seashore WESTuse TAB to get a map of the BeachSTEP Blook at the map, MID WEST of the beach shows a rocky wallmove along until a corner of the wall goes at right anglesSTEP C  you see some sand has blown into a huge creviceMove West through the fake beach wallSTEP D you find stairs downmove down the stairs to the flooded dungeonSTEP E save the game now, as this is a test of speedYour team will drown if you are too slow, so save/ load it several timesSTEP F look out for the "Mortar & Pestle" but find the ladder upif most of your team has survived move South from the ladderSTEP G drop back into the water, NOTE the iron lock 1, now find the deeper trenchit is quite small but find the ladderSTEP H a secret wall button unlocks the entrance to a permanent sanctuary resting zonereturn to this zone in future and be careful not to fall into the deeper trench after the Secret Button was pressed (as it's just wasting time)  STEP I find the iron key 1it's close by, use the sanctuary area to recover and get someone in the team to muster some potions!STEP J   find the brass keyit's close by, use the sanctuary area to recover, NOTE the iron lock 2 by the Trapdoor S, get someone in the team to muster some potions!STEP K use the Iron Key 1 in Iron Lock 1find the Trapdoor N, note the brass lockSTEP L use the brass key in the brass lock. Trapdoor N unlocks, find iron key 2 adjacent.descend Trapdoor NSTEP M  most of your team DIE during the descentdo not worry!!  This is part of the game, hopefully you have some potions made by your Alchemist before he died!STEP N  with your surviving crew set off into the Bewildering Forest - caution VICIOUS DOGS!exit from the forest back to the Dungeon. note the ORNATE LOCK which unlocks the Castle EntranceSTEP O NOTE then that the Trapdoor N leads to the Castle using Iron key 2, you can now unlock the Trapdoor S which leads to the Outer Forest, Caution : Mosquitos, be ready! STEP P the Eastern Forest stairs lead you to flooded passages and a choice of routes. you must decide which way you goEach route is achievableSTEP Q if you proceed N in shallow water act fast, pick up blue and green crystals and THE ORNATE KEY, ascend ladder as per step Fremember where you saw the Ornate Lock, check step NSTEP R  use Trapdoor N as per STEP L to make your way to the Ornate Lock as you now have the Ornate Key at Ornate Lock (as per Step N) note the Ladder, ascend the ladder to check Wooden door next to SKULL LOCK, note locationSTEP S  use Ornate Key, enter castle, SAVE THE GAMEin Castle Reception, the most threatening creatures are the Mosquitos and the Flame etheralSTEP T take down the least threatening creature firstthis gives you a "safe room" to retreat back toSTEP U now engage the  most threatening creatures, the Mosquitos and the Flame etheral to get them out of the waytake down remaining creaturesSTEP V now pull the 2 levers, find the SECRET BUTTON that unlocks the W portcullisPLACE an item on the alcove, next portcullis opensSTEP W  descend W trapdoor to S STAGE in Ruins levelweave through Archers to flooded passage OR enter Bleak Forest STEP X   you can retreat from Bleak Forest back to S STAGE if you need toeither way now descend Trap Door S as in step OSTEP Y again   choice of routes. you must decide which way you goEach route is achievable, if you did not explore 1 route before perhaps now is the timeSTEP Z if not, as per STEP Q proceed N, you  now see that previously locked portcullises have raisedENTER THE NEW AREA see STEP P, you must decide which way you go, this guide deals with deep water routeSTEP 1  you must get organised for this route!
