Thank you for your hard work on this mod. Please know I realize that a troubleshooting update to a mod five or six years later, for a game that released almost 20 years ago, probably isn't in the cards, but I thought I'd leave the comment in case it proves useful to you or others.
Visual issues are caused by this mod's "fx_" files when used with the current (Aspyr) version of the game on Steam. I noticed the following:
The "clairvoyance" effect, e.g., when Kreia is talking to the Exile telepathically, appears stretched and distorted, turning it from a "ripple"-style effect at the edge of the scene into a blocky, VHS-style "static" effect that covers the entire scene, partially obscuring it. Looking at the mod's texture file, the effect doesn't seem to be showing as intended. (This is the same issue as mentioned in the comment immediately below mine.)
The "shock" effect, e.g., the effect that spreads across droid enemies when they're attacked with T3's shock arm, appears as a pattern of thin, multicolored / brightly colored lines instead of an effect resembling arcing electricity, which I assume isn't showing as intended.
Other issues might be present elsewhere in the game, but when I noticed these at the beginning of my most recent playthrough, I opened this mod's archive and removed the "fx_" files it added from the override folder, which fixed the issues above (albeit just by restoring the game's vanilla effects, obviously).
I found the clairvoyance problem. I just removed the fx_clair01.tga file, as stated in a comment below.
I'm having the problem of the spark except it's on their shields. I did a process of elimination and found that it is fx_tex_16.tga that is the culprit for the shields. deleting that one removes the effect about the shield. I'll see if any of the other wraps cause this effect when i get to those points of progression in the game.
Update: yah, most of the Tex files show up in game as scratchy lines for any wrap effects. Several other effects show up as the rainbow shifting static. Others are monochrome. I don't know if this was the intended effect or not but it doesn't look very good to me either. i ended up just deleting all of the tex files. It's better than losing all of the fx files. I would like to know where he got these files from so that we can try and contact the creator or other modders who can make the effects look better.
Thanks for making this mod! I have come across an issue, I'm not sure if anyone else has (I posted in the forums about the issue with no responses). In this pack there is a file named:
fx_Clair01.tga
I figured out this file handles the "ripple" effect seen during the telepathy conversations with Kreia. After putting it into my override folder, the effect became glitched and looked like watching something on an old VHS tape or something. Removing this file from override folder fixed the issue. Just thought I should let everyone know in case this is happening to someone else as well.
Do we necessarily need to keep the holdover textures from KOTOR 1? I only ask because my computer gets cranky if I have too many files in the override folder, so if I could take out some of the files, I would appreciate it.
First, thank you for this awesome mod. Just started a new playthrough and I love it so far. I only have one little problem. On the Harbinger I found a Jedi Robe but when I put it on my female MC the textures are all messed up. I believe this has to be because of this mod since I only have this and the other parts as texture mods installed. The only other thing it could be would be the Restored Content Mod but I never had problems with that before. I tried finding the robe texture but I'm not really familiar with what I have to look for. If it helps I could try making a screenshot.
Certain characters, HK47/50 and Vogga appear semi transparent and I'm also getting error messages about C_Hutt02b.tga not being a valid bump map or something everytime I go to the Nar shada docks.
