Make taris a more enjoyable experience with new weapons, combat, npcs, sound and area overhauls.

Permissions and credits
I introduce you to my Taris combat and areas overhaul for a more difficult and exciting experience. You can check the trailer to see modifications brought.




I am sure some of you like how combat heavy Kotor 2 TSL felt, and my mod is an attempt at giving Kotor 1 combats more time to shine. You will have more space to express your gameplay with completely new items, while the boss and side boss fights will feel more difficult. Some sceneries have been improved with new npcs, animations, dialogs and stuff. 

Content :

 Npcs and combat overhaul

- More basic units have been added
- More droid units have been added to give better use for ion weaponry
- Droids will now have a -5 damage resist against physical and sonic damages
- Every units should be slightly stronger (better statistics, increased hp, more varied and better weapons, some units have been given shields). Gamorreans will now have a small stun chance.
- Every shockstick wielding vulkar will now wield a vulkar knife. This weapon gives sneak attack, if you give your back against this weapon you will take more damages. The vulkar shockstick is still lootable after beating a twilek dancer.
- Some twilek vulkar npcs will now wield enhanced sonic pistols.
- Every boss and side boss units should be stronger.
- Entirely new units have been added (Blaster turrets, Iridonian bounty hunter, Mad engineer, Gran enforcer, various mechanics, twi lek dancers ...)
- Some animations have been added to bring more life to some areas.
- Every npcs appearances have been fixed to match their rank. More varied appearances for npcs (Red heavy sith soldier, mixed twi lek colors, ...).
- Every npcs names have been fixed to match their appearances and ranks. More varied names for npcs.
- Every npcs positions have been fixed to better match the sceneries.
- New npcs in unused areas.
- The patroling units paths have been slightly extended so they encounter the player more frequently.


Underused areas overhaul

- South apartments : Minor supplies added in unused room.
- Janice store : New workbench.
- Lower city appartments : Better loots for the 2 apartment puzzle areas
- Hidden bek base : The unused corridor is now a garage with a workbench, a garagehead (who manages a small shop) and multiple scenery objects. (1 small problem : the ithorians do not bear fight animations, so if you decide to attack hidden Bek base the garagehead will appear a bit buggy but he has low hit points so its a very minor inconveniance). The cantina has now more npcs and life to it. A gamorrean pazaak player will be available. (1 small problem : when you finish your pazaak game, you have to talk to the npc again to have the final dialog). Every npcs have dialogs and most npcs have matching audio to bring more life to the base. Patrol units in hidden bek base will travel between the cantina and the garage to bring more life to the base and give some extra decision making if you wish to attack the hidden bek base.
- Undercity : New minor loot and vulkar gang members near the crash pod. New gamorrean elite in front of the first sewer's entrance.
- Sewers : New workbench near the broken droid. New minor loots, gaz mine and malfunctioning droid near the zalbar broken door.
- Vulkar base 1 : New workbench near the broken droid.
- Vulkar base 2 : Minor loot in the unused room near the hangar bay door. Plastic crates and security droids added to the garagehead desk corridor.
- Sith Base : Turrets added in 2 corridors.
- Davik estate : New minor loot, plastic crates, incomplete droid and security droids in front of the hangar bay door. Turrets and mines added in unused corridors.


Additional content : Items and stores

- Entirely revised stores to give them more identity.
-> Larrim will display alien weapons and onderonian stuff.
-> Kebla will focus on weapons, armor and combat stuff, including some implants.
-> Zekla will display implants and medical stuff.
-> Janice will display some skill related stuff and a mining laser blaster bearing the old weapon model + old weapon skin, for pure nostalgia about Kotor 2 TSL.
-> Garagehead will have some exclusive item for scoundrel and an anti droid shockstick.
- Entirely revised basic weapons + unique weapons (such as companions weapons, bendak blaster or prototype vibroblade), making some upgradeables and adding various properties to bring the best out of Kotor's sandbox.
- Most of the new items bear icons, skins and descriptions.
- Entirely new sets of basic items (30+), inspired by Kotor 2 TSL that you can buy in all the stores. They bear a color scheme to match their effects : Red is for Strength, Yellow is for Dex, Green is for Con, Cyan is for Wis, Pink is for Charisma, Purple is for all skills and intelligence related items.
- 12 new sith and republican weapons, upgradeable, purchaseable (sith weapons : kebla in uppercity, republican weapons : igear in undercity), and some lootable (Trask will come equipped with a republican pistol, you will also loot a sith shortsword instead of the prototype vibroblade on Endar spire). They bear exclusive icons and skins.
- 2 lootable sith armors added, heavy sith armor fully upgradeable (they bear a different name and description vs the disguise quest item, you will not lose them after talking to Gadon but the new armors will not trigger Sith disguise interactions with npcs)
- Dia now drops an exclusive vibroblade which grants +1 attack vs humans
- 1 lootable vulkar knife for gang members.
- 2 lootable gamorrean axes.
- 1 lootable rakghoul venom inoculator (is a poison blaster basically) + a prototype vibroblade alongside it, because my mod replaces the prototype vibroblade with a sith shord sword.

- 2 new music options for the upper city and lower city cantinas.

Requirements : 

I strongly suggest you install these 4 mods first : 
Rakghoul fiend fix
Mandalorian blades
Selven Legend
High quality blaster

The first mod will give a unique appearance for Rakghoul fiend, alongside boosting its stats.
2 npcs will use the mandalorian blades. So if you dont install it they will stick to blasters.
I didnt rework Selven's difficulty, because the Selven Legend mod does the job perfectly.
My ranged weapons use the weapon models from the High quality mod, so download the high quality blasters first.

Weapon damages overhaul

More enemies on Endar Spire is the same thing but for the first encounters of the game, also buffs the basic ion blaster.
More enemies on Dantooine is the same thing but for the next part of the game.
My weapons balance modifications go even further with my weapon damages overhaul, bringing way more viability to ranged weapons especially, if you wish to experience it fully as i intended it.

Compatibilities :

This mod is compatible with K1CP or other visual mods such as Taris dueling arena overhaul or diversified wounded soldier on Taris. However it will be incompatible with any mod that alter the taris scripts, placeables or characters on Taris areas, as my files will override any other files. Hopefully, i will work on a compatible version later, but i am not working on it at the moment.

Installation : 

Keep in mind that my mod should be likely installed at very last compared to other mods, because it replaces numerous Taris files to make everything works. If you install it first, and then have mods that modifies the taris files, it might cause a lot of troubles i cannot expect, it might also work just fine but it really depends on the mods.

1 single patcher will now be available with 2.0 : You have to run each part of the overhaul. Run them by the order displayed, it is a bit tedious but it is required to make everything work fine.

2 optional musics have been added for the cantina areas, you can play them to preview. You have to copy my files and replace the files bearing the same names in your streamusic folder. Be sure to delete the files bearing the same names as they wont be in the same format (my files are in mp3 so thats why you can listen to them).

IF YOU ENCOUNTER ANY PROBLEMS WITH MISSION VAO JOINING PARTY :
Download the additional file and launch the patcher. It should fix the problem, but you will need to reload a save prior to Undercity section.

Last words :

My mod still requires some work and will be improved over time. It has somehow became more than what it was originally intended. I will continue my work on making the Taris area a more enjoyable experience.

I hope i did not go "over the top" with the number of enemies or the balance made to bosses. I have written all the additional dialogs in hidden bek base myself, with a bit of fun in mind for the interactions, i am not a native english speaker so if anything sounds wrong or has any mistake, please tell me. FUTURE 2.1 BUILD PATCH NOTE :

- The Rancor is now a fightable encounter, it has 50% dmg immune against most of the dmg types except sonic. He has a 50% chance of stun DC14 (you need a high fortitude character to take the dmgs). The classic severed arm datapad has been updated to relate this fact. More mines will surround the rancor corpses pile. The chewed corpse will now be displayed before the enter, to give a "reason" for the rancor to go back to the vulkar entrance each time you lose the aggro. The rancor will fight the gamoreans and the droids if you manage to bait them into the arena (pretty hard to pull out). It will now drop a trophy that can be sold for some credits.
- Fixed gamorrean gambler and drunk hidden bek names
- Fixed some upgrades to items.
- Tweaked some items :
Sonic pistol will be dropped in lower city apartments
The rodian enforcer will drop the double bladed sword in lower city apartments
Disruptor rifle will now only be lootable on Davik Estate
A disruptor pistol will be lootable in sith base instead of the disruptor rifle
The bowcaster now has a 25% stunt chance
The prototype vibroblade deals more dmg to droids
Mission vibroblade gets 1 more energy dmg from upgrade
The gamorrean chieftain axe is no longer upgradeable
- Tweaked stats for npcs :
Nerfed droids hp in davik estate
Nerfed turrets hp but higher dexterity in davik estate

- More sonic and quarterstaff ennemies
- Vibroblade and vibrosword are now reserved to higher class enemies, lower class will wield short swords
- Some techs and mechs will use ion blasters
- New armor items and basic armors rebalance (Republican helmet and armor on Endar Spire, new armors lootable and in store), modified puzzle areas loot accordingly
- A heavy turret will now fight alongside the Mad Engineer side boss in Vulkar pool area.
- A new datapad will be lootable on a corpse, before the door that contains multiple rakghouls in the first sewer area. It will give some lore reasons for the rakghoul to be here, and warns the player about opening it for more decision making.
- Rakghoul will now be a different faction from gamorreans in first sewers so they will fight each other
- Twitch poison blade has been nerfed
- Entirely revised security checks to make security skill viable :
Low security doors/crates are a bit harder to bash, and require a DC21 instead of a DC12 to be checked
Security doors/crates are very hard to bash, and require a DC24
Heavy security doors/crates are nearly impossible to bash, and require a DC32 to be checked
- New Scavenger droid units with unique appearance will replace the sentry droids in the second part of the sewers. One vulkar gang member has been replaced by a scavenger droid in undercity. The malfunctioning droid in the first part of the sewer has been replaced by a scavenger droid.
- A new kath hound will be displayed in hidden bek base with a unique dialog. New dialog options for the Bek captain sitting next to the hound.
- The droids that needs to be repaired to assist you will deal more damage but will be squishier, so you have to commit with the repaired unit. You have now a dialog option to destroy them. When the unit dies, it will drop 1 part.
