Hi, I probably found an issue with your Mod and K1 Restoration Patch 1.2

When trying to install your Mod onto a clean installation that only had K1R
1.2 installed before installing your mod and no other modifications,
then I get the following Warnings in the Install Log when trying to
install with the 4th option (K1RCP Kebla):

    1st Warning

    • Error: Destination file "Modules\tar_m02ac.mod" does not exist at the specified location! Skipping section...

    ...
    2nd Warning:

    • Error: Unable to locate archive "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\swkotor\Modules\tar_m02ac.mod" to modify or insert file "m02ac.git" into, skipping...
       • Warning: No valid m02ac.git file was opened, skipping... • Done. Some changes may have been applied, but 2 errors and 1 warnings were encountered!

     • .
    ...
     • Done. Changes have been applied, but 2 warnings were encountered.

idk what this means and btw my real names brentley but short for brent lol

For your specific installation, since you only have K1R installed, you would want Option 1. "Select this option if: K1 Restoration and K1 Community Patch is not installed. OR: K1 Restoration is installed but K1 Community Patch is not installed and the player wants HK-47 to be recruitable from Kebla Yurt's Store."

Option 4 is only for installations that have both K1R and the Community Patch installed.

      Hope this helps!

Hi, I probably found an issue with your Mod and K1 Community Patch 1.9.1 released 22.December 2021.

When trying to install your Mod onto a clean installation that only had K1CP 1.9.1 installed before installing your mod and no other modifications, then I get the following Warnings in the Install Log when trying to install with the 4th option (K1RCP Kebla):

    1st Warning:

     • Warning: A file named tat_m17ac.mod already exists in the modules folder. Skipping file...

    ...
    2nd Warning:

     • Warning: Invalid field type "Float" or data specified in section "gff_m02ac_YOrientation_0" when trying to add fields to m02ac.git, skipping...
    ...
     • Done. Changes have been applied, but 2 warnings were encountered.

If I try the 3rd Install Option (K1RCP Apartments) then I only get the first Warning. I repeated the process of doing a clean installation of the base game and then adding K1CP 1.9.1 and indeed noticed that K1CP 1.9.1 is adding a "tat_m17ac.mod" to the Modules Folder.

I hope this is helpful and of interest for you. And thanks for your hard work on this mod, awesome idea.

Thanks for taking the time to report this! I have released a patch that should address issue 1 from appearing again. But if you run across it again let me know and I'll do a deeper dive.

The 2nd warning is interesting but not consequential to the mod working. It only affects which direction HK will face when spawning in. I do have that logged though and will address it when time allows.

Thanks again and let me know if there are other concerns!

If I could make one suggestion, in HK-47 dialogue he implies heavily that he knows that you're Force-Sensitive (which you're not supposed to learn until you've rescued Bastilla from the Black Vulkars). Maybe change that if possible or play this mod alongside with this one: https://www.nexusmods.com/kotor/mods/1

An excellent point! When I tried to get to that dialogue in testing on Taris I didn't see it, but the question of course is when will it show, because it definitely exists like you pointed out. If you have a better idea on when or what triggers that dialogue I'd appreciate some clues. A search function through his dialogue file isn't revealing too much sadly.

I'm not a modder, so I wouldn't know where to start... :P Maybe make a script that spawns HK and Yuka Laka after the Swoop Race??? You know, just for simplicity's sake. Probably easier said than done...

Hey having a bit of an odd bug where HK is just this untextured, bright white. Other than that, it seems to be working working fine. I suspect it could be because I have the HK-47 SWOTR Style mod too. Only his model seems to be working fine. Should I have not used an appearance mod?

I suppose it would depend on how that mod is placing the model files. Check him on Tattooine, or anywhere else for that matter, and see if he is still white. I will look into things on this end in the meantime.

As an update, I installed the SWTOR style mod to an install of the base game plus K1 Restoration and K1 Community Patch and this Recruit HK-47 on Taris mod and he appears as the SWTOR style mod says he should. Same story for a base game install and this mod. I would check if you have any conflicting mods that are messing with apperance.2da like SWTOR style does as well as any mods that may also be playing with HK's model textures. It sounds like you definitely have a conflict, just a matter of where. I'd definitely look into mods that alter appearance.2da like sWTOR style does.

So funny thing just happened. I wander into Yuka Lakas store and HK is untextured again. See this surprised me as I did a fresh install of Kotor after I assumed this mod caused it. So I spent the last five minutes reinstalling the SWTOR mod over and over and getting the same results. Thinking I had a corrupted installer, I downloaded the SWOTR HK mod again and what do I notice in the optional folder? Nine files. Guess how many were in my original install. Well less than nine. Honestly can't underestimate the stupidity of the end user.

So yeah, my problem was totally my fault and I have no idea how it happened. You're mod works perfectly I'm sure and I look forward to using it on my next playthrough. I'm sorry for any time of yours I wasted.

My only explanation is, hey I was a blonde baby *shrug*

Does not seem to be working for me, I do not have any conflicting mods, and have ALOT of experience modding this game specifically...the patcher shows no errors so I'm confused

Have you started from a new save? If you have entered the Taris Upper City South module (where the mod makes changes) before hand, then your game has stored data of what that module looks and acts like, meaning the mod changes won’t load as the game doesn’t think it needs to pull all the information about the module again. If you’re still having the issue after a new save, as many details as possible on what you are or are not seeing will help get to the bottom of what’s wrong.

I sure did, I tried twice just to make sure...is it possible because I'm using a skip Endar Spire mod it's not working? I'll try to play thought the Endar Spire just to be sure! would be worth it to ensure this mod works, really like this idea!

Are you using any mods that change Taris? If so, what are they? Really if you have a mod list of your whole build that would be ideal so I can recreate the issue on this end.

I'm sorry I do not...but more than likely it's on my end, I have mods all throughout my game so it is probably me!

Best thing I would advise in this case is make a backup of your game folder and then download a fresh copy of KOTOR with this as the only mod. If it works then, the issue will be one of the mods you have installed. If you end up finding out which one is causing a conflict please let me know.

I've just uploaded a new patch that reorients how files are installed that I think will solve your issue of this mod not appearing to work. Give it a try when you get a chance =]
