    I really like most of this mod, but would it be possible to have a version that doesn't just nerf soldier into the ground? 

    The point of soldier was to be good at combat and not much else. Scout had advantages outside of combat but with your change it overly buffed scout and gutted soldier to be just as vulnerable as every other class.

      Thanks for the feedback! I don't feel Soldier's been nerfed that badly, as a level 8 soldier still has more feats than any other class (I actually removed one feat from the scout progression), and higher base attack bonus (1/level vs. 3/4levels). It also has unique access to weapon specialization at level 4. With this mod specifically, soldier should be played as a ranged class in the beginning, since finesse comes free with lightsabers. I get your concern about the out-of-combat weakness of the soldier, but IMO it's not very noticeable in KotOR (vs KotOR II) because skill checks are rarer and less important. I suppose it is worth considering that since Strength, Charisma, and Intelligence are basically worthless to a ranged soldier, and Constitution isn't as important, you're basically railroaded into an 18 dex start. I might give the soldier one more skill point/level such that the first two points in Intelligence aren't completely wasted as they are now...

    So all characters are now melee focused?

      Besides HK and T3, yes, though I sympathize that you may disagree with my decision. Mission is the only one I might have considered building otherwise, but if you want to take advantage of her Stealth abilities to trigger Sneak Attack, you need to be within 10 meters (would be nice if Finesse: Melee Weapons existed in KotOR). Other than that, dual-wielding blaster pistols on Carth falls off hard, and Canderous has way too high Strength to waste on a ranged build.

      Canderous should be heavy weapons heavy armor guy and caidan should have been dual blasters. Making them melee is just wrong. Even in vanilla game ranged was not soo bad but with your mod you could fix it. make it better late game. Power of modding. Making everyone melee is just weird and lazy.

      In making this mod, I cared a lot about preserving the Vanilla game's power curve, and what items I did add were niche, not overpowered. Blaster pistols were meant to be strong early, weak late. Heavy weapons do not make sense with heavy armor - you'd need to pump Dexterity for hit chance (as it doesn't benefit from dueling), and at that point heavy armor is no better than medium/light armor. I also tried to preserve the Vanilla NPC builds as much as possible, only making slight tweaks, and I do think the creators meant for Canderous to transition to melee based on his original attributes. Plus, the notable Mandalorians are all about melee combat in the first and second game.

      You'll notice Carth and Candy start out favoring ranged weapons according to their feats, and you can obviously build them for ranged combat just as you could in the original - I barely changed their starting stats. 

      You're welcome to disagree but calling me lazy isn't just rude, it's silly. I'm doing this on my own free time for a game almost two decades old. I literally don't care if anyone downloads it - I made it for myself and am willing to share it. Sorry that you're not getting your money's worth /s. The tools have been out there for years - go make your own mod if you feel so passionate. Take elements from mine, idgaf. Just a heads up though - I'm locking this post. Good day, sir!

      Thank you! I spent a long time on this even though it's just file overrides and no "new" content. It's also my first and probably only mod, because it was made out of a passion for KotOR rather than a desire to be a modder.
