!!!NEW (FINAL?) UPDATE!!!

Modlist is now finished!, we have now reached 122 mods (or whereabouts)! xD xD xD

Wrote also super-detailed 2/3 of instructions and included all my custom merged 2DA files (to save you the trouble), so what are you waiting for???

Stay tuned for more!

(This post will be maintained for status updates)

(Mods without links are because the mods couldn't be found online anymore. I may collect such mods and upload them here for safekeeping)

(If there are any mods that you remember and can't find them again anywhere, give me a shout and I will look through my files. I have some very old mods hanging around and could take a look)

Terrible instructions that don't even work. People like you are the worst kind of human beings. You clearly don't know the first thing about modding since none of the files are the right kind and you don't even mention the override folder. Congratulations for posting a stupid list that anyone could produce.

What instructions? There are no actual instructions !!! Now there are instructions !!!

LoL, I find your post exhaustively funny, so I will pin it until it gets boring.

Especially the bit "You clearly don't know the first thing about modding" which is truer than Truth itself.

I think it's made abundantly clear throughout the modpage that this is a W-I-P. Please google the acronym if you need to.

If you can produce a better or any kind of meaningful modding content, and not just a modlist, other than a single tryhard post, please do so.

It will certainly save me the effort of testing and finishing this modlist and use that freed-up time more productively elsewhere. Kinda like what you are doing....lol

I want to provide some disambiguation.

So many modding instructions say to place the Override folder into the main KOTOR folder, but actually you want to make the Override folder inside of the Files folder, which in turn is itself in the main KOTOR folder.

dunno if anyone else had the same problem as me, but the files were .obb, and winrar couldn't extract them as such. so i had to change the file type to .rar myself, and that seemed to do it. i know this is an old thread and all that, but hope this helps someone :)

Hello there and happy New Year! It's true, I just had set mine in Windows defaults and didn't think about it, but it's worth a mention when I update the modpage sometime in the future. For now, I will pin this post so others can see it easily! Cheers mate!

Gosh, this looks so complicated!
So I have my game downloaded on the phone, I also have my regular game on PC, under steam, simple mods installed on PC, they work correctly, and I want them on the phone too.

I took the 2 obb files from the phone onto the PC, extracted them ... there ALREADY IS an override folder there... ok!
I put my mods from the PC to the new folder within the copied-from-the-phone KOTOR... at this point I dont know WHY would I copy them there, isnt it faster to just copy them on the phone from my regular PC override folder?

But the main problem is: the path  storage>Android>data>com.aspyr.swkotor DOES NOT EXIST on my phone
Do I create it? why isnt this crucial step mentioned? I only have the 2 files in Android>obb folder, the game, the vanila game works on my phone, with the 2 files in obb folder...

And there's another issue: I CANNOT CREATE A NEW FOLDER in storage>Android>data>  to create my com.aspyr.swkotor folder.

As far as I understand the overly complicated instructions, what I should do is this:
     - install game on phone
     - copy the 2 files from phone (obb folder) to PC and unzip them in the same folder
     - install mods in the OVERRIDE folder contained in the unzipped folder
     - then copy the OVERRIDE folder on the specified path Android>data>com.aspyr.swkotor that DOES NOT EXIST  ????????

I dont understand the utility of unzipping the 2 files, when apparently I could just make a new folder on desktop, rename it override and put the mods there, like on regular PC version of the game... ANd obviouslym, why cant I create the necessary path?

Hello there!

As I write, this page does not contain the mods. It consists of a list of mods.

• So, all you have to do is click on the mod names in the list (they are camouflaged hyperlinks!) and download them into your phone just like that from your preferred browser.
• Then, use a file explorer (my preference is Xplore) and unpack the mods' contents (only loose files, not any folders) in the override folder you will create inside the internal/phone memory/storage>data>com.aspyr.swkotor folder.

This method will work for the majority of mods included in my list, but for some of them you will need to merge and tweak them in order to work properly. You can only do that on a PC as a computer programme is needed. But after all that is done, you can simply copy your merged files over to the folder I wrote above and play fine after that with your modded version of Kotor on Android!

Is there a place you can upload your mod list to? the links posted sadly are goingaway

The mod you are trying to view has been deleted and is no longer available. This may have occurred at the developers request because it is no longer active and was not released, or it may have occurred because it violated the sites Terms of Use. If this is a mistake and you are a member of this mods team and would like it re-activated, please contact us with the details.
Continue browsing the mod list, to find the profile you are after.

Hey, just checked a few of the links and they all seem to work? From either moddb, deadlystream and lonelyplanet. If something in particular is down and now unavailable and you can't find it anywhere else then I can see what I can do.

Ok ill extracted the obb files main first then overwrote using patch
Ive copied all the contents to my /storage/emulated/0/Android/obb/com.aspyr.swkotor/files
I downloaded a mod called Twi'leks as PC
it has a file called tslpatcher.exe and a folder tslpatchdata not sure what i do with it to install for android

Also do i need the origional obb files if i have copied extracted contents to files dir?
ill play with this a bit i guess.

---------------

I must be doing something wrong i created the override folder in my android folder.
/storage/emulated/0/Android/obb/com.aspyr.swkotor/override
[/img]

Hello there!

So, when you have mods that use the TSLPatcher those can't be install as is within the Sndroid version of Kotor. What you have to do to make those work, is install them on your PC version of Kotor and then transfer the edited files (which most likely have been installed within the override folder - but always check to make sure by reading the instructions that come with each mod) into the override folder in your android phone.

Hi, thank you for posting this list and instructions to install the mods on Android! I do have a question about step 4: are the two files unpacked in the same location, making it under one folder effectively?  I unzipped the two folders, extracted it to the same folder on my computer.  It did not tell me to overwrite anything, however. And there is already an 'Overrite' folder from one of the unpacked two folders.

Hey, yes that's fine, as long as all the files are in the proper (and same) folders.

Hey, has anyone tried modding KOTOR on Android 12? I guess Android 12 hides a bunch of stuff in the data folder and even though it "appears" that you copy stuff over it sometimes doesn't work. Like "The Quest" for example, I couldn't get custom portraits to work. Only reason I am asking is because I tried a simple face retex for the female player (Fens - Female Player) and it doesn't seem to be showing up in game. I made sure to place the overrides folder in the correct location, so I dunno. I imagine on a rooted phone it might work maybe.

Any feedback would be great, would save me a lot of time.

Hello there!

Sorry, unfortunately my Note 9 doesn't have Android 12 so cannot test/verify this. Are you placing the the modded files in the override folder inside the android>data folder?

If that doesn't work for whatever reason, an alternative solution would actually be to pack your override folder inside the obb file instead and see if that works for you.

So im trying this out, i downloaded the "Modlist" file, and the instructions say i need to move 2 files over, but there is only one .XLSX file, is this the wrong file? or did i miss something?w

Oh no, you didn't miss anything, that file is just a spreadsheet list. I have not yet uploaded my manually merged files as I'm still testing my mod setup/list on Android.

So your guide says to use the PC version of Kotor while other guides only extract the .odb files. Is there a need for the PC version? Or is it just redundant?

Found the answer.

Just copy the "dialog.tlk" fron the main file in odb. to folder "/files" then create, "modules", "movies", "override", "streammovies", "streamsounds", "streamwaves", folders to "/files". And then you can install the mods, and when it is done, move the "files" folder to "Android/Data/com.aspyr.swkotor/"

Saves about 2.5GB of useless files.

Hello hello, hid the duplicate message so no worries there!

Some of there tools I used for Kotor modding that are mentioned in the guide require the PC version of Kotor to work. So my approach was to install Kotor on PC first, then copy-paste and replace original PC fils with the extracted files from the Android version of Kotor. That was how I could get all the presented mods to work fine for me without issues after using said tools (especially for merging and combining certain mods), so I kinda recommend this approach as it has been tested (by me). However, if there's any shortcut that works just fine that's not a bad thing!

Sorry for the Necro, but you only need diag.tlk from the main obb(if installing mods that utilize tsl patcher), decompressing all the contents of both the main obb and patch obb waste alot of space(around 1.9gb lol).
Also some phones only see the mod files(override, modules i.e) if they are in Android/Data/com.aspyr.swkotor/files/
This is great work btw. Thanks for utilizing your free time to do all this testing. I had always planned to finish a mod list my self and this is motivational. I'm still learning how to edit certain files to resolve compatibility issues so maybe one day, barring permissions issues.
Maybe if your still active we could work together via dm/discord and get some more added to this list instead of myself making a new 1 alone lol

Hello there! What "necro"? This modlist was last updated less than 6 months ago, there's (some) more to come! xD

Appreciate the advice you offer, as some people will definitely find it helpful. For me I just traced exactly the steps I followed to get it to work for me, so there won't be any uncertainty on my part but I understand they may not be applicable to every phone/user out there. Btw lol'in too at the 1,9gb being a lot of space in 2021! xD xD

I still have a few more things to add to this guide, mainly the more involved modding/merging stuff as you can see from where I left it off. The reason for that is lack of free time due to studies/work/etc, but I do plan to return to it eventually and finish it off in a nicely rounded way.

All help is appreciated, so whenever you want and have progressed with your modding effort just send me a message on nexus and we can take it from there. Compared to other games, I found Kotor modding (even on android) relatively straightforward - thanks to old Bioware and simpler NWN1 days - so if you need a bit of help don't hesitate to ask, as I will try to reply when I can! ;)

I've ran into an issue when leaving taris. You get to see the harbinger go by then game crashes. I'm pretty sure it's caused by KotOR restored content mod. Have you tested KotOR restored content mod yet?
The only big/new content mods I have that differentiate from your list is the above named mod and BOSSR. So I'm thinking it has 2 be one of those. I'm going to more testing on my build in the meantime.

Yeah, it sounds like your issue was caused by one of those. I have not tried either of those big mods yet, exactly because I wanted to avoid complicating things. My guess would be on the Kotor Restored Content mod as I've heard/read that it can be problematic like that.

first off SUPPER HELPFUL,
I have loved this game and only dreamed of modding it to make it 1000 that much more enjoyable, as someone who just started getting in to mods i am thankful someone took the time to compile the mods in to a list for reference.
i got KSE to work and am slowly working on more advanced stuff. i was wondering if there is a guide to using Kse and keeping most of the PC in Balance.
thanks

Hey guys I have a question, since some mods requires to move files to the modules folder, do we need to copy the module folder to our phone as well ? Thanks.

Hello there, yes that's the way, or you can just copy-paste over the files that are inside the "modules" folder.
