Hi there ! I accidentally fixed the weapon shadows !
I wanted to introduce white skins for the vibroblade/vibrosword models. I converted the models into ascii with Mdlops, then changed manually the rows referring to weapon / skin for my own skins.
When i converted back the ascii file into .mdl it displayed perfectly.
Additionnaly i edited Alpha channel to delete texture transparency, but i don't know if it has any impact.
Gonna come back here trying to fix the other models for myself and tell you how well it went.
While the stretching shadows is definitely a thing, probably conflicting with a graphic texture mod or something, I've found that going into advanced options in the graphics settings and turning on 'soft shadows' helps to mostly alleviate the issue. At the least, it makes it much much less noticeable So still very worth it to use.
These are REALLY nice! Highly recommended. They look so cool that it sorta KINDA takes away from the awesomeness of finally getting your beautiful lightsaber, but that's just a personal opinion really. I do get the shadow stretching issue, but it's a tolerable evil.
I'm having the same problem - thin black lines dancing across the floors, radiating away from vibroweapons altered by this mod. Very noticeable in the Rakatan Settlement on Unknown World. Removing this mod's files from my Override folder solves the problem. Judging from the mod author's dismissal this is probably a mod conflict. I'll see if I can determine which mod this may conflict with.
This doesn't replace any of the unique melee weapons, like the ones found in the tombs on Korriban, correct? Just the basic, standard vibroblades, right?
