its the fx_tex_16 file that effects the energy shields. Different tex files will also effect force powers and different kinds of shields. They all show up as scratchy multicolored or mono colored. None of them look right sadly
Trying to squash a potential bug that I have noticed on the android version that I do not experience with the pc version of game concerning the stealth utility effects and various shielding. It appears that the characters go to a metallic appearance completely on the android version when they do not on the pc version. I removed CM_Baremetal changes to each player in appearances.2da and still get the effect. Not sure why. Maybe the alpha channels in the textures. I would like to squash this if possible for the android version. But need more input from other players. So I can track down whether it is just an issue with changes in my personal install or whether it is in fact the textures themselves. I have attempted a few reedits of the textures and still get the same bug. Anyone experiencing this post and let me know. Would like to determine if it is able to be resolved before moving on to sith lords. I do not want to leave this issue hanging unless it is not able to be fixed. In which case the metallic effect is tolerable although I would dump the alpha channels if need be. This bug is important enough because to be frank. The android version of this game is far superior to the pc version in every way. Would not want to leave the issue hanging.
Hey Curtis, I don't know if this will help, but I noticed that the problem of rainbow shields only happens when the fx_tex_14.tga file is placed in the Override folder. If I remove the file the problem disappears.
