Man I'm dropping the difficulty love this mod but MAN it is hard, my main gripe is the reletive size of the enemy armies compared to your own. Its like Red Sands Expanded levels of absurdity. Also Pirates with AOEs from the get go? Get out of here that's a whole level of nonsense that if I were to try it people would accuse me of cheating. Great mod but MAN is it hard. I've basically gone from game being too easy with the Lucinde Mod due to the skeleton spam spell to man is this painful with this mod on normal difficulty. screw achievements I'll get those unmodded or when I've actually gotten the hang of these I'm going on easy
First of all I'm enjoying your mod very much, so thank you for making it :)
However there are some issues:
- At least one inhabited building is not targettable for attack, there is one in Monteville. I havent unlocked all maps yet so there could be more.
- There is an unreachable map in Bear Butte. I dont know if enemies are randomly generated but this one is guarded by a unicorn variant. Its on some small islet and there's barely any space to move, upon landing you cant target the monster and it wont attack either.
- I was so looking forward to dragon rider unit, and I finally unlocked one. However I feel it is currently underwhelmed, mostly because of summon dragon skill's leadership cap. I cheated to get 28 riders and I can only summon ONE dragon. At this point in the game its very weak, and you can only summon once too. I think it was reloadable in the original? For all the trouble to unlock this and even more to get it up to speed (princesses) I think it deserves an upgrade.
That's it for now, thanks in advance for considering these changes!
- That glitch came out from nowhere, but it's easy to fix it (each time it happens): use save, then just load and you can enter the building. This takes place only in Monteville for some mysterious reasons. Such advice could also be found at the "Advices and tips" file, I strongly suggest to check it out later.
- Sometimes the hitbox of monster/object is very small. Use arrow keys to move your hero and reach it.
- Dragon riders got massively nerfed recently at this mod. They're useful only in some battles now, still dragon summoning can help a lot. Even if it's just one dragon, it's power is very high for level 5 creature. At the late game Dragon riders can summon 3-4 dragons max, in newer version 1.5.1 (which is not translated yet) it can be buffed by 1.5-2 times.
Thanks for the tips, I didnt even know I could use arrow keys to move lol.
But I'm sorry to argue, one single dragon, even a black one, is not useful. At this point in the game it dies in 2 or 3 hits... even if you double that it wont make much difference. Oh and I play in impossible. But hey it's your mod and you do whatever you want with it, I'll just not use dragon rider, there are other units with better summons.
It's ok to argue, the more opinions the better. Dragon riders in this mod are mainly used by the Mage class. And I wouldn't just make things worse for no reason. This mod has been available for download for 2 years, since version 1.0, there have been versions 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.4.1, 1.5, now the latest version is 1.5.1. All these versions were tested and passed by me and very strong players exclusively on Impossible difficulty in order to squeeze the maximum out of the game. Working on Dragon rider is one of the inevitable conclusions in the analysis.
By the way, there are quite a few complete walkthroughs of different versions on Youtube, but they are all in Russian, unfortunately.
Personally I think they should be as strong as possible, considering they are one of the hardest units to get in the game due to well you needing princesses to recruit them and there is a finite amount of them in the game, really the only way I'd say a nerf would be justified is if their core requirements (That being to have princesses to recruit them to begin with) are reworked in a way you'd get them in enough numbers to make a difference. Regardless of difficulty stacks with few units in them tend to lose fights to stacks with a lot of units, I went thru this recently with my playthrough using the Lucinde Mod for Dark Side one of the key mechanics for that mod was being able to summon three units of skeletons as a regular spell with these stacks growing the higher your leadership ended up at, the result was that these stacks made most fights trivial mainly due to the fact that the skeletons could gang up and kill stacks with high HP but less units I had a fight with a small dragon stack and the skeletons killed all the dragons which were at most 2 dragons in a stack without much difficulty. Basically the core thing here is really depending on how many Dragon RIders are you as the player able to recruit, if they are limited in number then they should be as strong as you can make them knowing that they are in limited supply and not easy to replace, if you are going to create a method for the player to recruit large numbers of them then yeah they would deserve a nerf within the bounds of logic as they are after all riding dragons. Fairly simple solution here the way I see things in terms of balancing, best not to nerf a unit the player is going to not going to be spaming due to limited supply unless you intend to make it possible for the player to recruit more of them then the game allows normally in which case a nerf is warranted. That said if someone is rocking a stack of 100 Dragon Riders they very likely are cheating.
A much needed mod. I wish there was a patch to make it work with the Lucinde mod but I guess patching two mods for King's Bounty is not an easy thing to manage. That said I'm going to use this one for my new playthrough. Only things I'd like to see added in is unit experiance (Units getting experience as you use them like in WOTN) along with all the units from Warriors of the North that didn't carry over into Dark Side. By the way the EXP thing would be possible Red Sands added it to Crossworlds in a backwards added feature. Other then these additions ten out of ten, really look forward to the next English version take your time with the updates I'm aware this isn't a full time job this is a great mod and honestly a real gem, the bug fixes alone make this a must have.
Hi there. I didn't play KBDS for many years, and was eager to try this mod once I found out about it. There is a problem however: at least on my system, after installing, the graphics all turn blurry and unfocused. Did the mod also include "enhancements" who clearly for me failed? Is there a way to fix this?
Weird, really. I uninstalled the modded game, reinstalled from scratch and the blurry graphics are gone. I will now try to re-install the mod hoping those strange blurred effects won't reappear. Thanks for the quick reply.
Edit: indeed reinstalling the mod the weird bug did not reappear. Go fancy. Thanks again.
18 February, 2024 and still no english translation for latest version :(
Please, Molder, is there anything I can do to help you out with the translation? Or maybe there's way now to reward your job? (l remember Patreon is not an option)
I have been waiting ages for the translation. Love the game and your mod.
Hi again, Molder! Glad to see you are still around and working on the mod anyway. I'm always very grateful for your efforts ^^ And you have listened and payed attention to the feedback of the community through the years.
Yes, sure, give me both versions and let's see how it goes, what I can do about it. How many strings are approximately? To be translated, I mean.
Thanks for the mod. Enjoying it currently quite a lot.
Vampire's spirit skill "Dragon Voice" doesn't seem to applying to Bone Dragons. Oversight or intended? I will keep posting if I find any other interesting shenanigans or misshappens.
Yes, that's a mistake from vanilla. You can manually fix it, go into ses.kfs, find dark_witch_hunter.atom file and change "features=light,humanoid,mind_immnuitet" to "features=dark,humanoid,mind_immnuitet".

Making mod is much more fun than translating it, sadly.
I can give you last russian version and last english version. With comparison and a lots of time you can translate it.
Yes, sure, give me both versions and let's see how it goes, what I can do about it. How many strings are approximately? To be translated, I mean.

Last english version was 1.5, but I can't find it for now. You can use 1.4.1.
There are thousands, thousands of strings.
Vampire's spirit skill "Dragon Voice" doesn't seem to applying to Bone Dragons. Oversight or intended? I will keep posting if I find any other interesting shenanigans or misshappens.
Intended, but can be changed in future. 1 Morale to bonedragons will be suitable.
