Hello guys, I have automated this process. You need to drop the file into a folder with a program written by this author, after which they will immediately throw the save, after which it will start and write the level that you want the batch file to do everything else. Here is the batch file if you want inside, I also wrote that do what if. Бат файл
This mod could use a readme. A few questions: 1. Does this get installed on desktop? If not what folder? I'm using steam so my game save files are located steam\userdata\xxxxxxxxx\102500\remote\
What is the command line prompt?
If you install this to desktop and run exe file it auto closes. So I'm assuming it needs to be installed somewhere else.
Is it possible to set the game level beyond 45? Like 60 or 70. I plan to start a new game already maxed in level in order to enjoy the looting aspect of the game, already had a lot of fun with the good pacing but having consistent challenging fights that require the use of my full skillset with quests that give truly legendary and powerfull equipment... would be just a dream coming true. Thanks for the mod regardless if this functionality exist I will set it to 45 for now.
Without more extensive modding, the short answer is 45 is the max level defined in game. You can set it to a million, but there are no levels defined past 45 in game, so enemies will die instantly.
According to this guide there are several areas with a cap of 99 & one with 100: https://drive.google.com/file/d/14HUgLc7xlX3rj3YTemyPGeFu3btdmlaU/view?usp=sharing
Edit Is it possible rather then setting area levels to an arbitrary number to simply set them to the original level cap for the area as outlined in the pdf I linked?
Unfortunately, that max level value is not defined in the save game (at least I don't think it is), and I do not know of a way to find this value in the space binary file. If you can explain to me how that works I will happily change the tool to max out to the correct value.
As there a hundreds of spaces, it's hard to say what translates to what. As for the level of 45+, the game only defines levels until 45 without more mods, enemies above level 45 will die instantly and deal no damage.I have no idea why level 100 was specified, my guess is they built those ranges before they determined what the final level was going to be.
Okay, follow up question- using your tool you can't affect the levels of the first area of the game because you have to reload the area. Is this type of level modification possible with the base files and not the save files to circumvent this issue?
Yeah this tool can only work on manipulating save data. Chests are spawned when you first step into a zone but enemies loot is spawned on death. It might be possible but the simspace format is unknown to me (in fact I have no idea how I got lucky enough to find a trick to locate the space level.)
Make sure you have .netfx 4.8 and you extract every item in the zip. This is a command line tool, so open a command window where you have the program installed then run: KoaR.AlterLevels.exe "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\107335713\102500\remote\9190114save90.sav" 45
It should write a whole bunch of output like this for each space it ran through. Space:dgn_wellofsouls_7 oldLvl:1 newLvl:45
Are you running a non-US version of windows? If so can you please try the new version I just posted. I think the issue is localization culture. I am using US windows, and some of the parsing does not specify a culture. I've changed the program's culture to be invariant so it should hopefully now work.
If I have version 4.8.03752 .netfx. I just extracted the files in the container folder of the game, I didn't know if this was necessary but the program still doesn't start. I added it to the exceptions of the windows firewall, deactivate the antivirus, although at no time has a pop-up window warned me of a possible risk just for testing. I have also tried to run the tool from the .zip file itself without decompressing it, doing this I have noticed that I get a warning from smartscreen of windows that blocks it but even allowing it from the compressed file itself it instantly closes, I have deactivated the SmartScreen functions manually but still does not run when files are unzipped. I have also tried the new version that you have posted because I use a non-US version but the result is the same .. :(
I've uploaded another, can you let me know if this works? What version of windows do you use? I'll try testing different locales. I tried using now both "en-US" and "fr-FR" and both of these worked.
