About this mod

A mod that fully replaces Master Xehanort's battle dialogue and main story cutscene dialogue in KH3 with the voice of, or approximating, Leonard Nimoy, created through the use of clips from BBS and AI voice cloning.

(Adding a note here to mention I did make a small alteration to dialogue in the final scene, changing a line from "A perfect world, pure and bright" to "pure and balanced" instead, to try and easily clarify a mistranslation that made Xehanort's motivations seem confusing. I may look into how to change the subtitles to match the new line in the future.)

Update 1/12/24: All battle dialogue and cutscene dialogue has now been replaced. For all intents and purposes, this would mean the mod is completed, however obviously there'll probably still be (hopefully little) things to clean up, so I'm kind of relying on feedback in the comments if any of you have opinions/would like something changed. I'm open to criticism and ideas. As far as Re:Mind goes, for now I'm not planning on replacing the dialogue in those cutscenes, at least not in the near future, both because I just don't have a whole lot of time for it and because I personally hardly ever replay Re:Mind anyways, so I'm not really very motivated to complete it. If it seems like people really want it quickly, I may come back to finish that sooner, but outside of that main story is how it'll stay for now. (The battle dialogue for the Re:Mind and Data fights should be 100% replaced though.)

Thanks again to everyone who's shown support for this project, I really appreciate it, and I hope you'll be happy with what I've come up with here!
(Also, I added a bunch of new videos showing off the cutscene and battle dialogue in case you'd like to check that out before downloading.)

Update 1/6/24: Sorry for the long period between updates, just been pretty busy. 6/7 Main Story cutscenes have now been fully replaced with new dialogue. The only scene from the main game missing now is the ending with Xehanort's monologue, which I have worked on already but am still not totally satisfied with the quality as of now. I hope to add it soon, as well as begin work on the Re:Mind scenes. Additionally, I have improved all of the existing scenes with (in my opinion) more natural/accurate sounding dialogue readings, and also improved or replaced completely a big chunk of the previous battle quotes. (Hopefully you'll agree that they're all an improvement.) Thanks to everyone who left comments or showed interest in the project, it has been helpful in staying motivated for this, and I hope you all enjoy the update!

Original Post:

Hi, all! One of my biggest disappointments upon KH3's release was with the lack of Leonard Nimoy's iconic voice as Master Xehanort, although we all knew it couldn't be helped. It didn't help that neither of the voice actors Square replaced him with (although great actors in their own rights) turned in performances that fit the character.

So the goal of this mod was to rectify this issue, by replacing all of Xehanort's audio in the game with as many clips from the other games as possible, as well as with audio created from AI voice cloning, in the case of the dialogue for cutscenes.

As stated in the title, this mod is WORK IN PROGRESS. It's listed as such because as of this version, only the first three of seven total cutscenes featuring MX have had their audio replaced (and even those have some awkwardness that still needs ironing out). The battle dialogue however, in the base game and Re:Mind, has been completely replaced, which is why I decided to release it in this state, to hopefully get feedback on those elements that have been worked on, and see what people like and dislike, and how much interest this garners.

As a note: AI technology, at least in my hours working on this so far, still has its limits. I have put in a lot of effort to try to match the infamous tone of Nimoy's performance, but it has been difficult to say the least for the AI tool to always replicate. (If anyone has any tips on how to improve this, I am 100% open to it.) I say all this only to say, I understand it's not quite perfect yet, so please don't be afraid to give me your blunt feedback. My ultimate goal is to have a finished product we'll all be happy with in the community as a replacement in the game, and although I don't have all the time right now to dedicate to only this, I am dedicated to getting it slowly finished over time.

Thanks for checking it out, and I hope you enjoy!
