Welcome to modding! Has anyone shown you the wiki or the modding discord yet? You should look at the naming conventions and adding a manifest! Also, I can point you to the fuse animation, if you want to try your hand at figuring out how to shorten it.
Npcs? It should only affect the salvo perk, but he needs a mod manifest with modid, and then to rename the pak and xml to use the same name, lowercase no numbers, to not cause potential issues. He could also offset the bow to keep it working like my mod, but I think it would be more interesting if he looked into the weapon fuse next.
Its also possible to do reloads via the animation: https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance2/mods/832 No one has done it for the bow yet. I tried doing it for the cannons, but needs a lot of tweaking. Only problem now is that you can only have one animation mod active, so holding off until that is fixed myself.
