There is a troubleshoot guide on the description to help you guys if you experience problems. Also make sure at any given time that you have only one realistic weight file version in your mods folder. Check mod description CHANGELOG
Realistic Weight - 1.0.0 version initial version - this version has a bug that also reduces horse inventory limits Realistic Weight - 1.1.0 version released that brings horse weight inventory capacity to realistic levels. Enjoy Realistic Weight - 1.1.0 lite version - with starting weight limit at 55 instead Realistic Weight - 1.2.0 version changing some file structures - no new gameplay changes - THIS VERSION IS BUGGED UPDATE TO 1.2.1 Realistic Weight - 1.2.0 HC version - added intergrading hardcorish mods' implementation into this one due to conflicts Realistic Weight - 1.2.1 version - fixed my mess in 1.2.0, sorry this should work now Realistic Armors - 1.0.0 version release Realistic Armors - 1.1.0 - Reverted defense values of armors to vanilla levels, adjusted some weight armor values Realistic Weight - 1.2.2 - Fixed saddles increasing horse weight unrealistically. Best saddles now will increase horse weight limit up to 60ish Realistic Weight - 1.2.2 HC - Same changes as 1.2.2 Main (saddles) ABOUT 1.2 UPDATE:
THIS MOD DOES NOT HAVE A VERSION LIMIT LIKE OTHER MODS IN MOD.MANIFEST, AS FAR AS WH DOES NOT MESS WITH FILE STRUCTURE IT SHOULD WORK FINE FOR ANY VERSION.
TESTED WITH 1.2 PATCH - WORKS JUST FINE.
IF YOU USE REALISTIC ARMORS FILE YOU MISS THE CHANGES ON ARMOR WEIGHTS WH DID THOUGH.
IF YOU EXPERIENCE STRANGE WEIGHT LIMITS AFTER 1.2 UPDATE THERE IS AN OPTIONAL FIX FOR WELL BUILT PERK THAT MAY STRAIGHTEN THINGS UP.
ABOUT 1.2.4 UPDATE
Mod is partially broken in new 1.2.4 patch in Hardcore mode of the game if Henry has "Bad Back" perk
I notice you say 0.4kg is equivalent to 1lb..and maybe I am nitpicking but based on the weight values the extra could be seen as quite important to us players...surely as a kg is 2.2lb...0.5kg is a more realistic weight factor than 0.4...? Not sure how this would impact your weight rebalance etc but seems important given the reductions as pertain to realism.
If average loadouts are compared to modern military...at least over last 150 years..average carry would appear to be generally around 50-60lbs(more over short distances bit not sure that really applies here)...but of course this ignores,as they didn't use it,the question of armour...which historically although of a weight..was usually fairly evenly distributed over the persons frame..thus diminishing it's weight load effect..(Modern day Special Forces seem to place the limit of burden for effectiveness...at around 1/4 to 1/3 of the persons body weight being able to be carried without detriment.)
I dont do the calculations based on kg, I do it directly on pounds, I am a bit confused what are you suggesting? Limiting your weight by that much means you cant ever wear a plate armor without being encumbered.
i think he means that because armor (when worn) was destributed over whole body as "clothing" it should have less of an impact on weight limit compared to when it is "in a backpack". I know this would be impossible to mod, but it maybe would be sensible to increase base weight limit. So that weight is realistic when armor is worn and a bit unrealistic when armor is in a backpack.
I cant possibly make one file for every person's taste, I do not have the time to maintain this and to be honest its a simple xml edit and repack, you can do it and put in whatever suits you, keep it local or upload a new mod or whatever. These are Warhorse files not my property. I can point you the file if you want to
i would like the files plz. also is there an equipment load? or just overall carry weight penalties? id love for a deeper weight system with speed and stamina penalties for heavy armor, while also receiving damage and poise buffs for going heavy. is anything like that possible with kcd2? if not anyway i may be able to get close? thx for your time and your mods.
Hi.... great idea in general, but KCD does NOT use pounds / lbs as a weight measure but more something like 1/3 of a kilogramm.... i did check on this in KCD 1 and did find some reference to this in the official sites as well as by comparing real armour and weapon weights to the values in KCD.... there is even a funny name for this weight value but i did forget it. So if you adjust for real carry capacity and actual weights please dont use the lbs but use the 1/3 of a kilogramm then it fits better
That makes a lot of sense, thanks! I could not understand how they could explain 14.6 lb. gamesons and 26 lb. cuirasses, but the converted values seem a bit more realistic. Overall, even with these new numbers, Warhorse's armor weights seem to be a bit high for field armor.
St3veTheGun, any chance you could make a seperate saddle carry weight limit option? I'm playing hardcore mode with all perks, so using the Bad Back perk definitely isn't possible with this mod. Thanks!
Mod is partially broken in new 1.2.4 patch in Hardcore mode of the game if Henry has "Bad Back" perk. With these circumtances, Henry has 0 weight limit
Overall, apart from this, great mod and it worked flawlessly previously in console-opened Hardcore mode
Edit: partial fix for this issue - removing bad back from list of chosen perks. download this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance2/mods/114?tab=description
and in console write next sentence: cheat_remove_perk exact:7ce6444f-78ab-454c-b008-cdf981b4df4b i_know_what_i_am_doing:true
Warhorse changed armor weights ... but was it an improvement? Where were they before? I've seen no historical evidence that gambesons were anywhere close to 14 lbs. as we have now in KCD2. Same thing with 15 lb. helmets, and 26 lb. cuirasses. Oddly enough, only chain armor seems remotely close to realistic weights (for some). Plate, brigandine and laminar armor all appear to be 50-100% heavier than historical data suggests. In game, my lighter/every day armor set weighs 98.5 lbs. My battle armor weighs 124.2 lbs. in total. Most internet searches imply that the range for medieval plate armor was between 35-55 lbs. I think that may be a bit light, but anything over 75 lbs. would be more or less jousting armor, not field armor.
Please help me spread my mod request to other authors. I want to experience the execution animation in kcd1. As long as I make a mod that makes the enemy lose the battle and become unconscious instead of dead, I can reproduce the post-battle execution in kcd1, which will greatly enhance the fun and immersion of the game. 《天国:拯救 II》Nexus 的怜悯杀戮请求 - Mod 和社区
Please could we get a version that is HC but without the XP reduction? Wanting to use it with Scaled XP Hardship mod, but both xp reductions are insane xD
I guess this mod probably isn't for me as I don't want my Henry to be the only person in plate having to walk while his enemies run & ride horses. I think if it affected all NPCs as well as Henry I would really enjoy it.
You are not supposed to play over encumbered, giving NPCs limited weight is doable but it would mess your game. Just imagine lord Capon not being able to ride his horse because hes overweight. The idea is to slowly be able to wear a plate set piece by piece at around 15 STR. I played both KCD 1 and KCD 2 with this mod and there are not any balance issues, Henry is enough overpowered already. But all is subjective, maybe try the other mods that are more forgiving
Hey St3veTheGun, thank you very much for this mod, its awesome! Though after the 1.2 update seems like the mod is not working anymore, my inventory total weight went from the 120s to 160s.
I didnt download the patch because I suspected that it would break the mod so unfortunately I cannot upgrade it and test it :/ For the time being at least
Did you try changing the mod manifest file version to 1.2? File is located into mods/RealisticWeight
just open it with notepad and edit this line <version>1.2</version> => just put 1.2 here
Sorry St3ve, I was actually wrong about it not working. Its working as intended, what actually happened was that I just got the "Well-Built" perk and its pretty strong, it increases carry weight by 1 pound per level of strength so it went from the 120s to 159. Its a very strong perk, maybe it would be less "OP" if it gave 0.5 pounds per level of strength?
Also, yes I did edit the mod manifest, I just deleted the whole "version" part of it and its working fine.
Well Built should get you up to 130 maximum weight limit at STR lvl 30 if you have all the weight perks. Did you have this weight limit before the update also? If yes, the mod works after the update, you just got a mod conflict to begin with. Can you delete temporarily all mods but RealisticWeight from your mod folder and see if something changes?
I tested my game, the results are a bit strange I guess. My strength was at 22 in this comparison and I have these perks active "Hard-Working Lad", "Pack Mule", "Strong as a Bull" and "Well-Built". Take a look at this, "inventory weight / total weight". Game with all my mods: 117/148 Game with only Realistic Weight - 1.2.2: 156/144 Game with no mods: 156/394
Seems like armor is way heavier now after patch 1.2, my Milanese cuirass went from something like 5.5lb to 26lb.
Well definetely not working as intended. Glad finally WH intergraded my armor weight changes. Realistic Armor file also changed weights for Cuirasses and some other armor pieces before the patch - from what you re saying it seems more realistic now by vanilla. Anyways I ll update my game to 1.2 in the weekend maybe and get back to you
Yeah, weight of items in vanilla 1.2 seems to be pretty realistic now. After you check it out do you think you could make a separated file with only the "Realistic Weight" part of the mod? It would be awesome if you could, I have no clue if that would take a lot of work or not.
Holy damn, forget that I asked that. haha I got confused with another mod for a second, some other mod is changing my armor weight and I'm trying to find it. Sorry.
Its ok, just updated the game to 1.2, the mod works just fine. I ll update the description. Without any edits to my file (try redownloading it and leave only RealisticWeight folder in mods) you should not see weight limits above 130 at max STR and weight perks. Also you should see horse inventory limits around 200, or maybe 250-260 with horse equipment.
I redownloaded the mod and started the game using only Realistic Weight - 1.2.2, my max inv weight is 144. A bit strange, right? That is with 22 str, using these perks "Hard-Working Lad", "Pack Mule", "Strong as a Bull" and "Well-Built".
edit: adding some information. I used a savior potion, it gave me +1 strength and vitality buff, went to 23 str and my inventory max went from 144 to 153.
Damn it somehow it might or might not work, I dont understand. Anyways I uploaded a new fix for 1.2 under optional files, download and add that alongside realistic weight file - should make well built perk to work correctly.
Just tested it, seems like its working now with the fix. I have 23 strength and my max inv is 114. Do you think that's what its supposed to be with 23 str? btw I'm going to sleep now, I'll check this chat in 10 hours or so. Thank you very much for the help and attention!

base weight limit: 50
+1.5 per str level.
So lvl 5 Henry has limit: 50+4*1.5 = 50+6 ~= 56 lbt.
