1.02 Initial release 1.03 Fixed a critical bug where Guilt-type nightmares could be selected but fail to apply because their severity was nil. This happened when indulgence was below the "moderate" threshold, but guilt was still chosen via weighted roll. The system now properly detects low-severity guilt and applies a "light" nightmare if appropriate. Added internal logging to help catch similar issues in the future. 1.0.4 Storm nightmares can no longer occur if there was no rain during sleep. Previously, rare cases could trigger a storm nightmare even in clear weather. 1.0.5 Reliable perk assignment: Perk is now assigned via STORM, ensuring it persists correctly after loading a save game or restarting the game. 1.0.6 Necklace-type sleep items no longer stack — only the best one applies. New sleep items added. Good Night’s Sleep now requires indoor or medium+ beds, no nightmare, and ≥7h rest. Lastly, a new rare buff — Pavlena’s Blessing — may appear when sleeping peacefully with her necklace in poor beds near nature. 1.0.7 Fixes a bug where bed quality was sometimes logged as "unknown", causing Pavlena’s Blessing and other sleep-related buffs to fail silently. The system now consistently tracks bed quality, even when using fallback beds or smart objects.
I would need to test it and confirm from the author. Camping mod is probably spawning in normal bed intities so it would work with this mod, but can't say for sure. Also, if beds get better in better camping kits, that would mean you would get bonus from those beds agains the nightmare probabilities, though i don't know if it registers as sleeping inside :) I'll try to test it in near future, i definitely want to make it work with this mod, since i'm big fan of KCD1 camping mod as well.
There are 3 types of tents, which I saw 2 in my game so far but I think none of them should protect from heavy storm. Also I made polish translate of your mod here: https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance2/mods/2051
1.02 i loaded in to new update and was unable to move for duration of nightmare debuff lmao . as i lay here starving to death with people shouting at me to leave i feel at home
I'm playing with the 1.05, are you saying you can move when you get the nightmare? I just tested on my end, what nightmare you have when you can't move? I got the default one and it's working like it should.
i think it was the bed rather than the mod he never arose, truly henry had just given up on his vengance haha, took mod off but it seems if i sleep on the ground i cannot stand up not sure whats doing it
Can you tell me exact bed, also if you updated try testing on new save if it works differently. I'm more in playing mode now, so i'm also testing lot of mods on this new 1.3.
Edit: slept on the ground, got "guilt" nightmare, no problems.
Hey, i lately found out that Instant Herb Picking 2 is conflicting with my mod. I don't get stuck to the bed, but when i stand up, Henry kind of sits back down and then i'm stuck.
ahhh it may have been 3rd person mod as the files were in a different spot i didnt check it till later, also instant butcher/herb pick may have done it to me also, and id start getting up off the ground and fall back down into sleep position
I finally have to put thought into where I lay my head.
This is a great mod idea and the way you incorporate different game mechanics into the probability of nightmares is clever. I haven't yet bothered to pay any indulgences or do pilgrimage (negate indulgence requirement?), and due to story-related kills (civilian deaths), I tend to get a lot of nightmares. Nothing big yet, just the slight debuff. Still, very cool and thank you for making this mod. Adds a lot of immersion.
My motivation was the fact i loved it in first game. Some say its annoying, but for me it was perfect, it kind of slows down your playing and once you're feeling weak you usually stay in town do some alchemy and prepare for trips outside. I just love that. I have lot of ideas for the "guilt" nightmare, but i wanted to keep guilt nightmare kind of "simple" at the launch stage. So i left it as it is now, so it just checks your indulgance if it's over the limit for first severity then you have chance to get them when you sleep. Indulgance is just one part, you have your default nightmares even you have been good boy, in KCD1 they happened every morning, but i created this system to be dynamic, so you can little bit to affect to your sleeping. And then there's storm nightmares as well, so if it happens to rain when you sleep. Debuffs aren't that bad, but they will make your days more dynamic, especially in the start since you can't carry a lot, and when you get debuff taking out of your strenght you really need to think what you carry.
Very well thought out mod, thank you for your work. Just a couple of questions. I noticed that the nightmares perk was in my main level perks and I had to spend a point to acquire it (this was on a pre-existing save). Just wondering about this bc it wasn't documented. My character also has what seems to be a permanent debuff, Gates of Hell. I paid my indulgences, thinking this debuff was due to my crimes, but it hasn't gone away. Wondering how to manage this debuff.
You should have Nightmares in your main level perks automatically, and no need to spend points to take it. Once you sleep you might get these debuffs and they should disappear when timer goes out. There's no permanent debuffs, or at least i haven't meant them to be like that.
Can you confirm this by starting new game just for test and see if it works like you described? I did fix few bugs lately, so there's a chance they could affect functionality, but that chance should be pretty low.
Ok, I just started a new game and got as far as when you're able to spend perk points, and it's doing the same behavior as mentioned. It shows up as a new perk that I am able to spend a perk point on. I also got the Gates of Hell Debuff, however it has the blue ring that's slowly ticking down, whereas in my other game, it was completely gray and stuck there.
You're right! I tested it and it seems in my months of development it was working on the first versions of the mod, then i forget that since it was kind first things i had to get working and later then it got somehow removed! I will work on the fix, but don't know when i'm able to release fix.
i get one of the pictures on the status bar, it's of a person chained or screaming. henry just stays in bed like he's paralyzed. can't move to look around unless going into camera mode. he acts like he's trying to get up but won't.
Just downloaded the mod and everytime I started the game I crashed to desktop before getting to the main menu. I removed the mod and started up fine? No idea why this is happening but thought it was worth reporting.
I installed manually. I've uploaded my log here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1R1LRaw300SsMeEW8NlqmR_30B1NHE6M_/view?usp=sharing for you to look at.
I can't really find anything unusual from the log, only thing which is different from usual setup is that you are using quite a lot mods and don't have mod_order.txt, but that might mean nothing.
