Normally nothing is going to be overwritten, unless you have previously installed ReShade for Kingdom Come 2. The crash could be caused if dxgi.dll and D3D12.dll are in the folder at the same time. Only one of the two files should be in the folder. If both files are in the folder, you should try to delete the dxgi.dll file. When you start the game for the first time, it may look like it freeze and crash. I recommend giving the game an extra 20 seconds to load, even if it looks like it has frozen.
I assume that ReShade is not yet well compatible with Kingdome Come 2.
Well done dude! This is a stunning preset indeed. I have to admit I did tweak the settings a tad (saturation and contrast), to be more to my liking. Other than that, unlike the first preset I used, I was pleased not to have that nasty white flash when starting the game up. The minor flash on save is fine, so cudos for that.
My frame rate is steady - no issues on my 4060TI on ultra settings, and the sunsets (and sky in general) look epic. Overall I'm really impressed as a good preset can make a whole lot of difference.
Do you know if this might fix shadow flickering issues? Like in this video, except mine happens mostly outdoors on rooftops. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGb9cFfefWw
For me the brightness or UI was def wonky as well without using the low bloom version, but even though that issue was fixed I sadly lose about 10 fps with this enabled.
something to note for those having too bright/white HUD with the original version, perhaps try using this no bloom mod in addition to this reshade? otherwise i tested the less bloom version of the reshade and it works too
I assume you mean the brightness of the HUD. If you have HDR enabled, you could try turning it off (let me know if that helps ;D). Otherwise you can try the Less Bloom Version in the optional files. The Less Bloom Version should not affect the brightness of the HUD too much.
Just an FYI. I put only this on my game and the WHGame.dll error showed up. I followed all of the recommended steps to fix that error to no avail. Said screw it and deleted the Bin folder, followed by a repair. The game launched with a fresh Bin folder. As soon as I added this reshade (to test), same error appeared. Dunno what's up. When I re-installed reshade, I pointed directly to this presets .ini file so it would only install the necessary extensions.
I was able to use the following reshade presets without the error: obnoxiously titled PERFECT KINGDOM COME DELIVERANCE 2 RESHADE PRESENT (https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance2/mods/184) Vibrant Colorful Life (https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance2/mods/84) Nature (https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance2/mods/170?tab=description) Rabbit's Realistic Kingdom (https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance2/mods/144?tab=description)
That is very strange. The only thing I can think of in this particular case would be to rename D3D12.dll to dxgi.dll (or leave it as dxgi.dll, depending on which version is in your folder). I can't imagine what else could trigger a WHGame.dll error. The WHGame.dll error currently occurs in most cases even without ReShade.
Probably an issue on my end but this seems to have broken KCD2 for me. Slower to load the game at launch and hangs at loading a save forever.
Edit: After a windows update/restart seems to be resolved. Probably just windows being windows. I still find this to be a bit too "dramatic" or fantasy but could likely be tweaked to make it look really nice.
I also had problems when I started the game for the first time after installing ReShade. I assume that it is due to ReShade. Changing the files name of dxgi.dll to D3D12.dll fixed it for me. But I still don't know why to be honest :D
The game loading slower is actually a Game issue, and it has something to do with NPCs and AI not loading properly. The devs are aware of it, the only way to fix it, is to travel back and forth between maps, at the moment.
