Still working in 1.9.6, just rename the mod "HigherStakes" (without space and quotes) and create a "mod_order.txt" file into your mod folder then add "HigherStakes" (without quotes) into the mod_order.txt. Plus you can remove the localisation folder of the mod, the mod still work without it and so it won't change the language of your game if it's not in english.
If this still does not work try this : create a "mod.manifest" file into the HigherStakes folder and put this into the mod.manifest :
I use the game with the Italian localization, this mod converts all the dialogues with the NPCs in English; removing the mod's "Localization" folder fixes the problem.
i dont think the mod works but some people in comments claim they know how to fix it. i tried their fix and im not sure if it works or not after following their steps
It didn't work at first for me. Not sure why but I did figure out how to make it work.
First, I added a mod.manifest file in the Higher Stakes folder then I changed the pak filename from Higher Stakes.pak to HigherStakes.pak as well as the folder 'Higher Stakes' to HigherStakes because the mod.manifest addition by itself didn't do the trick. It worked once the filename was changed. Also, I made sure to add a line in my mod order txt file as well.
Just a suggestion if anyone has any trouble installing it by itself.
Also, thanks for the mod! I've always liked playing Farkle but increasing the stakes makes it that much more fun.
so i did what you both said in these comments, but i dont notice any difference. when haggling the most i can give in a game of dice is about 70 grochen. i changed file name and copy and pasted a manifest file from another mod, and i put the name of mod in the mod order file. but still i dont notice any difference. i wish somebody would make a version of this mod but make it properly, so that people who download it dont need to change it to use it, and i even changed it like people suggest and it still wont work.
I've searched for a good while but cannot find the files to potentially change the Chumps game money values. It appears to be known as Floating archery in the game. Any chance you can help direct me or look to making a mod to change the values from 10-50 to values of 50 or something perhaps?
Only if you win. Otherwise a good way to lose a lot of money.
For me money is already too easy when I can loot 20K worth of gear from a bandit camp and carry it back to town. I really enjoy the dice and archery activities, but felt that they were a waste of my time.
I lose more on dice than I win and the argument for the mod is correct. I couldnt be bothered to stop and have an archer contest or dice game for 50g. Great mod.

Download, extract, place folder in KCD/Mods.

NWM. I got it. Made a copy from another existing properly working mod.
Upvote this solution.
To get this to work I had to manually download the file then copy it into the Mods folder.
If you are using vortex for other mods you will need to add a line with 'Higher Stakes' to the mods folder
You may want to pickpocket a rich dice player anyway to steal their loaded dice and in this instance you can also take their (dishonestly made) money.

Playing over and over again to legitimately get all of their money is a pain when the limit was just a 100 groschen.
