The thing is, it's sensible not to update your game once it's been modded as updates can and will break mods, which is why it's also sensible to say which version the mod is made for.
Geez, I've never seen anyone so offended by a harmless suggestion. It's just so people can tell if the mod is compatible with their game version or not. That's what I came here for.
Great mod, been using it on my first playthrough! Is it compatible with the new 25M update KC got today? I'm kinda scared to start up the game and break my saves
Not sure but I've played a few hours yesterday and had no issues whatsoever. The mod seemed to be working as intended, i didn't need to wash every few steps
I noticing most of these mods just delays the amount of time until the clothing is 100% dirty... There is no way to increase the 0% clean state to a much longer duration without partially being dirty appears after a period of running around (your shoes and pants should get dirty more likely than shirt and hood, but somehow your entire outfit becomes covered in green dirt halfway through that duration.
You can use high values and whatnot, but in the end the number builds up extremely fast, there could be a hidden value not mentioned anywhere.
It does not help that the devs does not document the attributes found in the XML files.
I had one way possibly in the past, using a attribute. https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance/mods/146?tab=posts
ClothDirtyingUpdatePeriod If you set this value to a high number the large amount of 'movement' needed before dirt gets updated will be applied...
Meaning if you set it to 500 units, and the zero/full speeds are set at 0 to 500, moving a distance equal to 500 units of movespeed, results in 100% dirty.
So as a estimate: ClothDirtyingUpdatePeriod = 10,000 (means you move up to 10,000 units before it 'updates' your clothing). FullSpeed = 20,000 (the clothing will update 2 times before it reaches 100% dirty). Updates 2 times to max dirty. ZeroSpeed = 40,000 (this is set double the full speed as it means you move at half speed). Updates 4 times to max dirty.
It'll take some testing to see how 20000 units goes, it's probably about 1-2 fast travel between Skalitz and Rattay.
Some people might take issue that the clothing is 'perfectly clean' for the first 10,000 units, then suddenly 50% dirty, then another 10,000 units and becomes full dirty. I take issue with the gradual dirtying process adding a minimum visual dirtiness of 50% as soon as you travel 10-20% of the total distance.
A way to see how bad this dirty system is, wear a black hood and run around, you will see that giant green splotches will appear for even a minor amount of distance travelled in Rattay.
There is another mod in the past that's interesting: https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance/mods/76
This modifies the wash buckets meaning it's possible to make it clean much more than normal, making bathhouses redundant.
Yeah unfortunately that only delays the inevitable, in the end we're still left with this wonky fully body dirtiness. I think the dirtiness texture overlays themselves could be adjusted and toned down a bit for each level of dirtiness for the more upper body items? But that would be a MASSIVE undertaking.
Maybe do a mod that simply replaces the 'dirt' texture to be less visible and green.
The texture is uniquely used for different models it seems, but if they are shared across multiple assets it might be easy to just take the texture files and make them more pale and transparent to be less visible.
The main problem here is that I am not sure how many 'levels' does the dirt texture applies... I think there's about 2-5 levels. Then the issue is does the texture apply to clothing even after wearing multiple levels? And is the dirt textures on it's own, or is existing in every existing clothing textures (as a 'dirty' version) of said clothing?
I would say it might be the former, it would be a massive undertaking for Warhorse to take every 'clean' clothing and make it look dirty... It's much easier to take a overlay over the clothing and draw the dirt texture to 'splotch' your outfit all around rather than to draw the texture on every individual piece that is visible (saves a lot more resources too).
Unfortunately that is a task for someone else. Believe me, you don't want to see that happens when i try to make a texture :P I'll stick to my databases
Hey man, great mod, works fine for me. Just wanted to say, you should add the word "Clean" or something in brackets, so in the future when people look up clean mods then they'll find this instead of the old outdated ones. I got lucky, I was looking and only found it because it was in the "recently updated" list. But yeah, works fine, dirt still builds up but it takes a waaaaaayyyy longer time, which is exactly what I want.

That's obvious isn't it?

Also why is yours a Zip file? Isn't it supposed to be pak format?
But anyway it's in the wrong format because i goofed up, again! Fixed now though, new version up.
Well that was embarrassing, but i have the correct files uploaded now. Thanks for the heads up.
