Why does the armor go into the Cover tack slot instead of the Armor tack slot? Does the Armor slot just not work? I rather assumed I would be able to put the armor on under my mount's caparison.
The mod is bugged and it glitches your horse unless you manually modify the armor.xml file.
Instructions from Deejerz88: This mod designates saddles as the wrong armor type. Maybe it didn't in a previous update, but it definitely does now. After buying a saddle and it not updating my horses capacity, I did a little digging and found the problem. For anyone that wants to fix it, follow these steps:
1. Go into your \Mods folder and open the .pak archive file for this mod using an archive tool (7-zip). 2. Navigate to: Libs\Tables\item 3. Open the armor.xml file (right click and choose "edit"). 4. Control + H to bring up "find and replace" 5. Type: (Horse Saddle) --> <row armor_subtype_id="" armor_type_id="4" into the Find What box 6. Type: (Horse Saddle) --> <row armor_subtype_id="" armor_type_id="10" into the Replace With box 7. Hit Replace All 8. You will need to repeat this step for Spurs, Horse Shoe, Horse Bridle, changing the id to 8, 11, & 12 respectively. 9. Save the file and exit Notepad 10. It will ask if you want to update the Archive, choose yes.
hey, would you be able to upload this edited version that you guided us through? the OP of this mod is not gonna fix this i am pretty sure. but if you did it, you could just upload it as a "fix for mod" version, which would still be allowed.
Hey everyone, I've updated this to a PTF edition and undone the horse tack edits that messed with saddle and horseshoe buffs, I'm also trying to adjust it so that the rattay and sasau armorers sell them. I've just asked the author for permission to upload.
Edit: I have permission to upload, but meanwhile here's a link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1PZyPRw8EKHYK16rLdmubr73GJniDaEhu?usp=drive_link
Do you happen to know if it would be possible to have saddles not reduce horse speed? I'd like to ride my horse at full speed but a horse without a saddle just looks weird imo.
But after I remove the original Version and replace them with your Version I got anytime I load a save, this message: "You have removed a Mod that add new content to the game".
How can i disabled this message? since the old Content of the Mod is not removed/add with your Version? or maybe rename your version to the same and replace the original Folder with it?
Greetings, i downloaded that mod from your link but it is still be absented in all horses sellers after long time playing (3-4 hours). What i have to do for them to appear?? I will be waiting for your or others answer. Thanks alot.
Im running into the same issue, The horse armor is in the game as I can spawn it in, but it is not in the shops vender, I suspect it has something todo with a mod that alters names, such as the sorted inventory mod.
Which merchant is selling the armor? the armorer in sassau doesnt have these. i waited so much in game for them to reset still nothing. is it master ora or someone else?
This conflicts with the Sorted Inventory mod. In fact I'd wager it conflicts with any and all item mods, but definitely any that modify horse equipment in any way, shape or form.
I've moved Sorted Inventory lower in the load order (to the bottom, in fact)... Who knows whether this will work? Incidentally, I've already made the changes to the XML that TikiTh0rsen suggested.
Great mod. However, the numbers are bewildering - at least between the half- and full-mail items. They both have the same protection factor and durability, despite the obvious implications of each in a basic-mechanics sense, not to mention the price difference.
This is what I'm wondering too. I noticed the body armour slot for my horse just now so I look up on the wiki where to find any. "No horse body armour exists in the game currently so this slot is either for future updates or modders." Okay. Doubt on the future updates, but surely modders have done this. Oh, looks like there's only the one mod, but hey, that's all I need. Wait what? It replaces caparisons instead of adding to the slot that is supposedly built into the game? Surprised pikachu face.
horse can't seem to run with this mod installed, teleports about 5 seconds late when whistling for it, and makes my character unable to run after dismounting the horse

What armor_type_id did you update the Saddles to?

Has nobody figured out how?
