modify file mod.manifest with that, and this mod will work on latest verison (1.9.6) like a charm ! Basically delete all text and past that. And here " <name>Richer Merchants - 20k</name>" put 20k if you using 20k mod, 5k for 5k mod and etc
I HAD to get this mod. I could not find a consistent way of getting traders to refresh their money so I could sell, I went 10 days of waiting in a row and they were still poor. I tested many different things but realized if I just increase the money they have, I don't have to wait for it to refresh. If you have this problem, get this mod!
The mod worked for me. I edited the xml file in the pak file (you can open the xml with Notepad and pak with 7zip or WinRaR) so that the traders get 100k instead of 20k. Then I installed the mod like the author says, waited a day or maybe two for Konrad Hagen (Rattay Trader) to refresh his money and it was there. Went to the armorer down the street and had to wait a couple days for him to refresh to 100k as well.
If you had the same problem as me and can't get this mod to work, the only advice I can give is to try buying something from the trader that isn't refreshing their money and wait a day or two. This worked consistently sometimes and didn't other times.
HOW I GOT MINE TO WORK ON 1.9.6 (No Bugs/Crashes or Save Corruptions - Yet).
FIRST: BACKUP YOUR SAVES - Do not blame me or the mod author if this corrupts your save and you did not backup your saves! You should do this anyways before trying any mod - especially an outdated one! If you don't know how to backup your saves, just google it!
Now that we're past that, once you have the "RicherMerchants20k" folder in your Mods folder (or whatever version of the mod you decided to use), you want to go into the folder and open the 'mod.manifest' file - open it with notepad. Click to the right of '</info>' and hit enter to create space for a new line. You'll want to paste this in that new line: <supports> [TAB HERE]<kcd_version>1.*</kcd_version> </supports> (You have to tab the <kcd_version> line WHERE IT SAYS [TAB HERE] (DELETE "[TAB HERE]" PART). The </supports> lines should line up with the </info> one above, and <kcd_version> line should start one tab space out. Save the file and run the game, if you're standing right beside a trader already, they may not have the gold until they restock. I rode one town over and several traders had 20k. Some may need in game time to restock. The reason for it not working before (in my case) is if the game determines the mod isn't supported on the games current version, it automatically disables it. This new text in the mod.manifest file tells the game that the mod works on any "1.x" version (1.9.6 for example). This definitely is a forceful way to get the mod working while it's outdated. You probably shouldn't use other mods that could interfere with this one. Hopefully this helped someone as I was desperate to get this working in my game lol (I have the Epic Games Store version that was free a while back if that makes any difference)
Fortunatly, tabbing doesnt matter in XML. You could just add <supports><kcd_version>1.*</kcd_version></supports>It would work the same.
Here is the file content for people who prefer to copy paste : ?<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <kcd_mod> <info> <name>Richer Merchants - 20k</name> <description>Gives all merchants 20k gold.</description> <author>EddieShoe</author> <version>1.7</version> <created_on>2019-05-02</created_on> <dependencies> </dependencies> </info> <supports> <kcd_version>1.*</kcd_version> </supports> </kcd_mod>

i got 20000 at the very begining and it actually kind of of make my game tasteless to get that much of money :/
