EDIT: MOD IS NOT COMPATIBLE FOR PATCH 1.5-1.6. Pardon for the inconvenience.
Note the new installation instructions, also note the important changes to enable the new hidden perks.
Extract the contents of the zip in your game's Mods folder. If you don't have one create a Mods folder under your KC:Deliverance default installation folder.

    UPDATE:
Not sure if anyone still wants to use this mod, so I haven't updated it yet. Plus I'm not sure how it would work with the Hardcore mode dlc.
If you want to use this, kindly post a comment here or message me. If you just want the perk packs, I updated it to 1.6 so you can go to my other mod page.
If anyone wants to help maintain this and my other mods, I'd be glad to share it with you.
Will be in hiatus for a while since I'm preparing for Google interviews. Hope you enjoy my mod!

Please post any bugs you may encounter with the mod. Thank you!

Thanks for the update! I'm very interested in playing with your mod. I'm also a bit lost how it could work with Hardcore, but could be an incredible mix. No rush at all :)

That's also part of why I haven't updated it yet since I'm not sure how it would work with the hardcore mode. I'm not yet sure how the hardcore mode affects combat or what. If you're interested in maintaining or updating this, I could give you access to the mod and teach you tips to update it.

Of course I'd be glad if you could show me how to update it, as I've never played with it and sounds like the balance I'm looking for, but can't guarantee I'll be able to update it in the future. In fact, I'm waiting for a more polished KCD version, as v.1.6 is a bit messy.

Really like what the description specifies, I'm looking for this kind of balance (SemiRealistic) so that armoured full plate opponents are a real threat and there's further differences between armours.

However, there seems to be a bug when using it with KCD v.1.4.3. Testing against 4-5 cuman archers shooting at the same time to me, their hunting arrows bounce the brigandine and get broken like 90% of the times. It would be such a nice addition if AI would have different kind of arrows within their inventories, so they can switch if they can't penetrate your armour. In fact, that's what I'm looking for, but in the actual game state, it looks funny when you're just standing in front of them for minutes while they shoot haha :D

EDIT: To make sure, the bouncing arrow is a work-as-intended feature. There's no bug with KCD 1.4.3 patch.

I know I probably won't get an unbiased opinion posting in a dedicated mod discussion, but how does this mod compares to Ultimate Realism Overhaul? Based on the descriptions both seem to do similar things, but I like that this mod adds perks, while URO seems to nerf the meats gained from game which is tweak I long waited for. I'm sure there are other, more pronounced differences. Would really appreciate the opinions of people who tried both mods.

Hi Sparrow. I can't really tell you how this mod compares to URO since I haven't used URO personally. This mod was based off the original Realism Mod of Ehren23 which probably had the highest downloads for a mod aiming for realism in the game (prior to URO). The original mod has since been taken down by the author for some reasons. I've reworked upon that mod, improved upon it, and balanced the game out making it challenging and as close to realism as possible without compromising playability.

I personally use this mod with the semi-realistic version, and would really recommend that version to people who first come from playing vanilla, but if you're looking for a more difficult challenge then you could use the realistic version. You can also switch between those two versions anytime you want.

First impression I had of URO was that it touches nearly the same elements that this mod focuses on which is combat, but URO was designed as a complete overhaul for the game. The focus of this mod is simply on the combat features of the game and as such I've managed to focus my efforts on that alone, making this mod well balanced and without any breaking issues in terms of combat.

Best way for you to find out is to try both mods and see what works for you best. You can also pick parts of URO to use with this mod if you want, such as the economy and food changes. Hope you enjoy the game!

Hi, the differences are mainly in the armor defence values. Semi-realistic makes it sort of close to realistic armor defences but still doesn't make your fights last hours or minutes. If you're coming from vanilla and want to try using this, then I would recommend the semi-realistic version first. Then when you feel that the challenge in the game is already lower, you can just swap the realistic version in.

The realistic version is designed for more hardcore realism gamers, battles will last an incredibly long time if you want to take down a plate armored enemy and you're not that skilled enough in battle.

Are we supposed to use only this version? Meaning we are to delete the realism overhaul, and use it instead, or have both of them?

I'm not sure what you're referring to? what version are you talking about and which files exactly? The optional files are by default set to be placed in my mod RealismReworked, though you could technically just use it without it or place it somewhere else.
If you're referring to the semi-realistic or realistic versions then use only one of them.

Will this mod work smoothly alongside new 1.4 patch or are there gamebreaking issues?

I've got a suggestion for you: Can you swap the Bludgeon's damage type with the fist's to make it a non-lethal weapon? The Bludgeon has annoyed me to no end, it's supposed to be a non-lethal weapon but everytime I use it people usually just die.

If swapping the damage type isn't possible, can you increase the chance for a KO when using it? And if that isn't possible, can you just give a slight buff to the overall chance to KO on headshot?

      Hi thanks for your suggestions!
With regards to the bludgeon, I'll try looking into it.

With regards to the other suggestions, it's not currently possible to just limit it to the bludgeon given the way the devs designed the game, also you can get a KO with the headcracker perk only I believe. Which I've balanced to lower down since it is too OP.
