Breaks healthbar, and caused other problems.

Same here. Healthbar outline box is present but red health line, and yellow stamina lines are absent. Same with enemy, and horse stamina/health. Compass itself looks good though.

How am I supposed to use the compass in the darkness? The black letters are not visible without light background!

You could use a torch indeed - as every good Christian should at night.

      1. Torch doesn't light dark sky.
      2. Compass UI is an abstraction and doesn't represent real compass in your hands. So it is not affected by ligh/shadow casting.
      3. Professional UI designers always take in mind that this must be the case when player gets complex background that prevents to see UI elements, so they make light (or white colour) background for dark (black colour) letters and vice versa. Vanilla compass is not good but also is not so bad because it has white background to help to read the letters in that situation.

I'll work on that this week, and upload an alternate version.

Could you please make a version without the aiming reticule? I'm considering switching to this mod but that is a deal breaker for me.
