With these textures now every time I enter the game I have to disable and enable HD Textures to remove the smoke effect with square pixels. Improvements or mod update is needed to fix those loads.

Don't notice this bug. Can you place screenshot of this buggy smoke?

Looks really good, no performance hit as far as I can tell in gameplay.   Not a criticism since I expected it, but load times are increased a good bit, especially at start. If you ever do a light version or find a quicker way to load I'd try it, but not world ending :)

Wow, mod is out from WIP! Good sign!
    And what about this:

    you wrote:
"I received a message from a modder who gave me his file to continue working on. He will be credited when I finish, but I can tell you that with the current settings, it's MUCH better regarding the popup issue. Popups of terrain on ground and nearest objects are annoying...

The roads mod has some whitish noise

yup, the roads in Skalitz look like they have white snow on them now with this mod installed...i deleted the entire roads folder,,,as i tried to delete textures one by one to find the culprit, but ran out of patience after 45-60 minutes od painful trial and error...kcd 1 has 10x longer loading times than kcd 2 for some reason

its NOT the road_trail_01_diff.dds and the road_trail_02_diff.dds, or the soil_mud_road_05_single_diff.dds...thats 3 i can remember i thought are the culprit but werent...but i tested a few more, cant recall which ones, i think i also tested all the "mud" ones without luck

Great news, thanks...I tried to narrow down which texture is the culprit...I deleted them one by one in the end, from the roads folder, and after i deleted the last one, the roads became normal again....i simply cant understand how is this possible,,,which texture is the culprit then ??, it cant be all of them as each is replacing a different road type....it could be some sort of filter...or alpha channel....because i opened every single one in Paint.net and i didnt find a single problem with any of them....

--true that im no professional at this.

until you find the issue and fix it, im still using your mod, without the roads folder...and so far nothing weird has come up,,everything looks good...(im using all your retextures, including verdant etc)

So from your perspective, the only issue right now is the roads?
And thank you for taking the time to investigate it! That really helps. I'll take a closer look and get it fixed in the upcoming update.

I didnt notice any other problems so far...Im playing the game right now with these installed...so...but even the roads shouldnt have any problems, and yet they turn white.

Ill let you know if I encounter anything along the "adventure" :)---i mean, while i play the game and complete the story and quests etc

The problem must be in the "roads" folder...without that, the roads look like vanilla....(obviously), but theyre also not white anymore etc

Heres 3 screenshots of the white, milky roads.

      https://freeimage.host/i/3xiBQZG

The texture responsible for these roads...IS NOT WHITE in your mod..so i have no clue why is this happening...maybe its the alpha channel, or a
filter applied to the texture...or that fcking rat, whatsitcalled, Orban Viktor, Hungary's president stole the people's money again..it could be anything really :) lol

    Hello, thx for the mod.
    Texture mods are ever welcomed.

Can i ask if u have a ETA for the next update? i want to start my first playthrough ever, and I was wondering if it's worth playing it without these textures or installing them

kobeworld, its most definitely worth it, even without waiting for the update..especially the Verdant mod, but these too, its a noticeable improvement.
--these retextures makes KCD1 looks more similar to KCD2, more detailed, more realistic, more crisp etc. KCD1 has aged very well, but check these mods out, the screenshots dont really give them proper justice...its kinda like
an ULTRA HD DLC Retexture pack of sorts..youll see it if youll try it

    Great work will be following.

My biggest issue graphically in this game is texture lod pop in. Especially grasses, trees, puddles, hats, chickens etc
Would love to see if anything could be done about that

Have you tried any custom settings? By creating a user.cfg, there are some mods and guides out there for it

For me this problem exists too. Tried many guids, different mods with user.cfg. Even Uber graphics mod with 20-30 fps on my 7800XT )))
But problem with geometry popup in several meters is still there.
But strange that not in all places this is noticeble... Good place to see - entrance to Ratae with arc where 2 guards stays. Bricks on this arc and floor textures have noticable change from different distance.

I received a message from a modder who gave me his file to continue working on. He will be credited when I finish, but I can tell you that with the current settings, it's MUCH better regarding the popup issue. The only problem I have is when the fog flickers, but I'm looking into fixing that too.

AWESOME WORK, HIGHLY APPRECIATED 👍👍👍. It's really admiring with how much love and craftsmanship you put into our beloved KCD 1. And so much new details which haven't there before this mod - e.g finally the woodstructure of cabins and its beams is clearly noticable, I really LOVE THIS MOD.

You definetly have improved it from one version to the other; now the strange looking black pebble stones in rivers have disappeared. BUT there are still some really strange looking wheel- or waymarks on unpaved ways. They are mainly black, almost looking like someone has lost tar on the streets, and these textures definitely don't match to the surrroundings; visually they stick out pretty unpleasantly.

E.g you can find them on the streets between Peschek's mill and Woyzek, and from Woyzek to Neuhof.

Thank you so much for your kind words and detailed feedback! 😊 I've already read your bug report and I'm actively working on fixing these textures. Of course, everything will be properly adjusted in the upcoming updates. Your help is greatly appreciated, there’s no way I could test everything alone in a reasonable time. With feedback like yours, we can truly perfect this mod together! 🙌

You Sir, are a real gentleman 😉.  Thank's a lot for your kind words!

FYI, and maybe this helps as well: This weired, dark spots and tracks in variations between dark grey and black, have improved anywhere between version 1.2b and version 1.2.5b of your mighty mod. I think it still has to do with the former black pebble stone issue around rivers.

If you directly spawn in front of the main entrance of the Neufhof stables/ranch, you can find a big amount of these "tarred" spots and textures in different blends of grey and black. Raining weather within KCD seem to amplify this visual "glitch". Its maybe also a shader problem.

      Sincerely, Alex
(Sorry for my English. It's not my mother tongue.)

Exccelent work! Thank you! Waiting your updates!

P.S. How I can check - does my game have HD textures pack? What files to exist I can check?

You're very welcome! 😊 In the graphics settings, you should see an HD Textures option (ON/OFF). If you don't have that option, then you don’t have the HD texture pack installed. For this mod, HD textures are not required, but they are recommended for extra detail in areas I won’t be modifying. Thanks a lot for your support! 🙌

And thanks that you doing your mods! I know how much time and hard work this requres. My respect!

The only downside to me is that some of the modded textures are a bit sharp for my liking. Now i use 10% added sharpness which helps with certain textures but then it becomes to sharp using your mod. Otherwise its amazing.

Thank you for your feedback! I haven’t applied denoise yet, as the textures are still a work in progress. Once everything is finalized, I will fine-tune the sharpness and apply denoise where necessary to achieve the best balance. Your input is appreciated, and adjustments will be made as the mod progresses!
