Why are you guys not even trying to dare just downloading, extracting the mod to the mods folder and simply trying it ... ffs, it wouldn't even take 3 minutes lol
As I am posting this, I have used it for awhile but there seems to be some problems with a pair of arm guards plated and gloves. I keep getting them named as "@ui_nm_turnaj_ramena & @ui_nm_turnaj_ruka" and the description remains the same as well. I don't know its default name in vanilla but I am pretty sure what was being overwritten has changed in the last few months of patches. Thus I am hoping the modder can update it a little. If not it would be nice if he can reply with a possible fix or if we can somehow manage to repair it ourselves.
I tried it now with KCD 1.4.2. I downloaded the archive from here and it works for me. Bear in mind that my mod will not rename all the items, it mostly concentrates on weapons and armour for now. If nothing gets renamed then I can think of a few things: - You have a mod that overwrites the "text_ui_items.xml" file. You should check any installed mod, you can open them with a simple archiver (winzip, etc.) - Maybe there is a problem with directory names, "Mods" folder not in the right place, the extracted folder should be in the Mods folder directly, something similar perhaps. Not sure about the game having any options for mods as of yet. - Last thing that comes from the first is to rename the folder to "zzz_Inventory_Sorter_Tagged" to avoid overwritten files.
Thanks for replying. I think you might helped me, not sure. I have mod "Roads are dangerous Tetzke" and it ihas english_xml.pak which then has text_ui_soul.xml.
I'm not sure whenever it should interfere with text ui_items.xml though.
Anyway, if it does then there's one more thing. I'm using Polish language in the game, should I rename your file from english to polish then for it to work? Or leave it like it is?
@edit Okay cool. It worked. Thanks god, I'm at the point where comparing armor and weapons is a chore and this mod helps it. Thanks for you work! Cheers.
I am glad you managed to make it work! :) The files here only apply to the English names so if you use another language in-game that can be a problem. Of course you can replace the Polish xml but item names and descriptions will be in English too.
This might be asking for a lot, due to how this is made, but would it be possible for the tagged version to retain the original item names and only add the tag in front?
In this form, yes. :D For ease of update reasons I want to write a program that loads in all the text and info about items then stores the modified name values in a database. That would make it possible to do it with a keypress once done. I am currently working on a website, but after I am done I might start to work on this. So, might happen. :) Other than that this might be your ally, though I am not sure if it still works or not and have not tried it myself either: https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance/mods/316/.
Hey! Dunno, I have not checked others. Categorization and names should be different. You can check the pictures included. Also, I corrected names for a few items that were inconsistent or downright wrong. All in all, you should choose whichever looks more usable. There are two versions here to start with.
Hi, Nice work! Assigning tags without working with the file directly is great! Making versions for other languages easily. I also changed inconsistent item names too, but that can be different in other locals, so hopefully an official patch will correct them eventually. Wanted to write something in php to help the sorting. Like you can pretty much create a list out of a few xmls which will show the items category, weapon and armour type, etc. with names and changing the item xml would be also possible. In the end it was not that big of a job just to go through the file manually but the openness of the game is great.

I have no idea if I'm doing something wrong or if it's outdated.
