Water and Cooking cauldron fireplace sound stuttering
hello, thanks for the great mod. I just discovered this bug when you go near water stream or cooking cauldron the sound effect stutter. I reinstalled the game and removed every mod to make sure that no conflict between mods just a notice
This mod isn't a "real" mod in that it doesn't modify anything in the vanilla code or add anything, it just updates two vanilla commands so it's likely caused by another mod. I'd test it with just this mod to see but I dont remember this being an issue and I played at least 20 hours with this mod on.
Do people still get things like cups, small wooden stakes, troughs and minor objects disappear at a threshold of about 20m in game despite settings turned up and this mod?
I'm struggling to understand why minor objects still are getting eaten by a LOD issue?
I'd imagine its for all the usual reasons - performance preservation. I've played another small studio production made with cryengine (sniper ghost warrior 3) and it was really poorly optimised.
- Added "engine\NPC_RenderDist_Extreme.pak" to the pak.cfg file in the game's Data folder - Added the "NPC_RenderDist_Extreme.pak" file to the game's Engine folder
I also have Optimized Graphics Presets (the updated version that got removed from Nexus) installed, as well as Texture Streaming improvements, but I don't think they directly affect NPC render distance.
In big cities, like Rattay, there is a performance culling thing going on that overrides it. So this mod mainly works out in the open and in most towns/castles that are more open.
The optimized graphics presets may override this pak because from what I remember, it also has its own pak files, it might be worth removing them from your pak.cfg and seeing if that fixes it.
Make sure engine\NPC_RenderDist_Extreme.pak is at the very bottom of your pak.cfg file
As someone who worked a lot of the OGP mod and tried to re-release it (but blocked due to 2nd author not authorizing it), I found that these core commands work very well on higher-end PCs (you can paste them in your autoexec.cfg):
https://pastebin.com/b2nENQZA
All OGP does is group vanilla console commands and makes it easier to swap through pre-defined settings while in-game.
To test if this MOD is working correctly, open console and run these commands to see what the values return:
WH_AI_LOD_DistanceMin If it's 100 (Default Value) you may have not installed it correctly or something is overriding it. WH_AI_LOD_DistanceMax If it's 130 (Default Value) you may have not installed it correctly or something is overriding it.
This is in mod description (in case anyone stumbles upon this that didn't install correctly): How to Install (manual only): 1.) Download the version you prefer (low, medium, high, extreme). 2.) Backup your pak.cfg, for steam, found in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps\common\KingdomComeDeliverance\Data\pak.cfg 3.) Drag the Data and Engine folders into your Kingdom Come Deliverance root directory. Steam root directory example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps\common\KingdomComeDeliverance NOTE: If your root\Data\pak.cfg file has been modded or doesn't have all DLCs, simply add this line to the end of it: engine\NPC_RenderDist_<your_version>.pak
However awesome this mod might be at fixing an age old problem, it seems to messed up, at least for me, Black Peter from spawning after the tourney since he never ambushed me.
You're saying Black Peter didn't ambush you after the tourney ? Well it did for me I can confirm that, so it must be something else on your end, or a conflict with another mod, but it is not this mod's fault
Yea it wasn't your mod, for some reason black peter's ambush was delayed and didn't occur right after the tourney was completed, occurred a couple days later, never seen that happen before. Sorry about that.
Not bad at all. The NPC "far" LOD is optimized quite well. Too well that when you use binoculars mod and zoom too close NPCs clothes look a little funny. See video in description for example. I've since also updated my graphics settings so far buildings don't render so poorly when using binoculars
Most of my graphic settings (10850k + 32 GB Ram + RTX 3080 10GB): Most of the core LOD settings are at the bottom of the config if you want better tree/building/castle details when using binoculars mod: Pastbin URL
I have this user.cfg in my root directory, and in launch options for steam: +exec user.cfg Alternatively you can name user.cfg to autoexec.cfg (then no need for commandline)
Incredible, this is an essential mod, I was always looking for something like this since every time I arrived at a tavern all the NPCs appeared at once, I am just doing the hunting mission and it is the first time I can see Sir Hans Cappon hunting

These are the core ones I use (3080 gfx card)

You can add these to your autoexec.cfg
- Added "engine\NPC_RenderDist_Extreme.pak" to the pak.cfg file in the game's Data folder
- Added the "NPC_RenderDist_Extreme.pak" file to the game's Engine folder

Any idea what the issue might be?
Thanks in advance
