    Wanted to add this for anyone who wanted to make use of this.  If you go to the Posts of the Rich Merchant Mod, they have a walkthrough on how to edit the mod manifest to get the mod to work for the current version.  I did it and its working for the most part, pasted down below for ease

    HOW I GOT MINE TO WORK ON 1.9.6 (No Bugs/Crashes or Save Corruptions - Yet).

    FIRST: BACKUP YOUR SAVES - Do not blame me or the mod author if this corrupts your save and you did not backup your saves! You should do this anyways before trying any mod - especially an outdated one! If you don't know how to backup your saves, just google it!

    Now that we're past that, once you have the "RicherMerchants20k" folder in your Mods folder (or whatever version of the mod you decided to use), you want to go into the folder and open the 'mod.manifest' file - open it with notepad.
    Click to the right of '</info>' and hit enter to create space for a new line.
    You'll want to paste this in that new line:
      <supports>
    [TAB HERE]<kcd_version>1.*</kcd_version>
      </supports>
    (You have to tab the <kcd_version> line WHERE IT SAYS [TAB HERE] (DELETE "[TAB HERE]" PART). The </supports> lines should line up with the </info> one above, and <kcd_version> line should start one tab space out.
    Save the file and run the game, if you're standing right beside a trader already, they may not have the gold until they restock. I rode one town over and several traders had 20k. Some may need in game time to restock.
    The reason for it not working before (in my case) is if the game determines the mod isn't supported on the games current version, it automatically disables it.
    This new text in the mod.manifest file tells the game that the mod works on any "1.x" version (1.9.6 for example).
    This definitely is a forceful way to get the mod working while it's outdated. You probably shouldn't use other mods that could interfere with this one.
    Hopefully this helped someone as I was desperate to get this working in my game lol (I have the Epic Games Store version that was free a while back if that makes any difference)

      ?(You have to tab the <kcd_version> line WHERE IT SAYS [TAB HERE] (DELETE "[TAB HERE]" PART).
      Fortunatly, tabbing doesnt matter in XML. You could just add<supports><kcd_version>1.*</kcd_version></supports>It would work the same.

      Here is the file content for people who prefer to copy paste :
      ?<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
      <kcd_mod>
        <info>
          <name>Richer Merchants - 20k</name>
          <description>Gives all merchants 20k gold.</description>
          <author>EddieShoe</author>
          <version>1.7</version>
          <created_on>2019-05-02</created_on>
          <dependencies>
          </dependencies>
        </info>
        <supports>
          <kcd_version>1.*</kcd_version>
        </supports>
      </kcd_mod>

      It makes a very simple change to the Perk2Perk_exclusivity.xml. It deletes all of the exclusive rules. You can mod it yourself you just have to make a new blank tbl file (using notepad). So the change stays. If you're trying this mid playthrough you'll need to ingest some Lethean Water to reset your perks. Otherwise start a new game. You may lose some perk points when ingesting Lethean Water. A good workaround is to raise the level caps of your skills so you can get more perk points.

      "A good workaround is to raise the level caps of your skills so you can get more perk points." But this doesn't work. Raising level caps doesn't give you more perk points. You either stop getting them at level 20, like vanilla, or you get them every 6 levels instead of every 3 levels.
      If I'm wrong, please explain. Ive been looking into this for a couple days now with no luck.

    Doesnt this kind of defeat the whole point of these perks? wont they cancel each other out like the horse perks ...
    Now what I would like to see is a mod that changes the amount of perk points you get so that you can have all perks on every skill (beside these exclusive perks)

      tried it and yeah its pretty much useless. all the extra skills apart from the speech and main skills counter each other. so unless you want to buy skills for the horse and then get the reversed for an extra skill point lol. or get drunk on beer normally and wine normally.

      You can result in net gains in some areas over net losses in others.

      Example.
      Brute gives you +2 Strength and -1 Charisma and Speech
      Cloak and Dagger gives +2 Stealth and -1 Strength and Speech
      Juggler gives +2 Agility and -1 Speach and Charisma
      (Golden Tongue is a wash as it gives +2 Speech and -2 Strength)
      The result of taking these 3 together would be
      +1 Strength
      -2 Charisma
      -3 Speech
      +2 Stealth
      +2 Agility

      In some situations, it would make perfect sense to lose 2 and 3 to Charisma and Speech (respectively) and gain 1, 2, and 2 to Strength, Stealth, and Agility (respectively).

      Further, in cases like Savage and Burgher, you receive +1 to Strength, Agility, Vitality, and Speech with both perks! I'd say it's WELL worth 2 perk points to get +1 to 4 stats everywhere.

      Yes, there are several perks which, if used together, will result in a wash or possibly a net loss overall, but that's up to the player to monitor.
