I have been using this mod I liked a lot, but ended removing it up, cause there is no way you hit the right target when Mutt fights another badits camp dog. I would love to see Mutt in the shape of a farm dog; thats the ingame dog model I like the most. Hate to see how Lord Capons dogs look pretier than mine!
Oh good. He looks even better in the game. The longer coat gives him a sweeter expression. I'm not a fan of short-hair dogs or cats. Thank you very much.
I did have issues with it though with a new game this mod seems to add Jindra1403's "Easy Mode" mod. I have never downloaded that mod and I would never do that as it completely goes against my gamestyle preferences. Maybe the dog mod conflicts with another mod I'm using I'm not sure. My mod list below:
Every time I add Brown'nFlufffy to my Mods, Easy Mode pops up ?when starting a New Game. Now it's not an issue as I'll just add it later in my playthrough with zero problems but I figured people should know.
I think the "problem" is caused by the Localization folder and all language xxx_xml.pak Inside those .pak you got only a text_ui_menus.xml When I compare root KingdomComeDeliverance/Localization original text_ui_menus.xml, the only differences between this mod and original one are: Original: "Normal Mode", called "Easy mode" in this mod. And Original: "Hardcore Mode", Called "Semi-Hardcore Mode.
Maybe i'm wrong, but i think you can get rid of the mod localization folder, because it seems there's nothing inside about dog. I've done it and now i got original Hardcore mode if i choose new game.
It works on version 1.9.6.404.504 Great! In the inventory, the dog model is completely black, I don't know if this is a bug or a result of the model swap. Unless you want to take a screenshot of your character on horseback with the dog by his side, the glitch doesn't seem to bother you.
Want to change your dog's name?
Just go here: steamapps\KingdomComeDeliverance\Localization,
Select the language file of the subtitles you are using (e.g. English_xml.pak, German_xml.pak, Italian_xml.pak etc.),
Open the file "text_ui_soul.xml", preferably using Notepad++,
Find line "char_667_uiName", This is line 763.
It should look like this: <Row><Cell>char_667_uiName</Cell><Cell>Mutt</Cell><Cell>Mutt</Cell></Row>
Change the second "Mutt" to any name you want and save. From now on you can have completely YOUR dog :)
PS: If you have uploaded this mod, go here: steamapps\common\KingdomComeDeliverance\Mods\BrownnFluffy12331011617848481\Localization
Then in text_ui_menus.xml change the second "Mutt" the same way: <Row><Cell>ui_dog_name</Cell><Cell>Mutt</Cell><Cell>Mutt</Cell></Row>
Once this is done, your dog's name will also display in the inventory menu.
I've deleted the Localization Files in the mod, so you only need to change it in the default location, or if any other mods alter localization files.👍
Also this is model replacement in the config. I don't think it will be possible to make the dog not show up black in the pause menu, It's probably due to not having shaders/textures meant for the pause menu.
Finally a dog mod that actually works. Always wanted to have this dog because it looks like my beloved Pusia (she passed away 3 years ago but I'll never forget ;_;)

Dogs of Bohemia - Brown Farm Dog - Mutt Replacer
I've created variations for all dog models now, I believe?
to the "soul__AltDog.xml" file in the archive and all the bandit dogs will change to look like the main character's dog.
