One sticky post with most asked questions so u dont have to scroll to find the answers

    1. What is PTF?

PTF stands for Patched Table Files. Instead of overwriting the whole table the game uses, it patches and overwrites only the added/altered entries so mods that alter the same tables are compatible with each other. Unless they alter the same entries, of course...

2.Not getting perk points when installed midgame

Use Leathan Water potion to recall all points that would have been awarded at the matching level.

3.Does not work on version 1.x.x.x.x

Working on game versions 1.9.4 and UP

4.Does this mod add more level/perk points to those skill trees that had perks added?

    Yes.

5.Does it works with Hardcore mode?

    Yes.

6.Is this compatible with Polearms Unleashed?

Since PU is PTF made the perks from PU will be added into base game perk.xml same way as Perkaholic polearm perks.
    They will merge together.

Skill.xml in PU is same as it is in Perkaholic so one will overwrite other depending on your mod_order.
This isn't going to cause any mod conflict.

    Save to use with PU.

    Very good, thanks so much.

Works on 1.9.6 no changes needed.

I love the changes but I do have a question. For the perks that add defence by 5% and such, is that a passive effect that affects your character generally with any weapon regardless what perk tree it was in or is it only active while holding that perk trees weapon type, lets say an axe weapon for example?

I was confused when I saw that.

Ehm, should it be just one "text__perkaholic.xml" file after extracting? Because I moved it into the mod folder and its not working.

EDIT: okay for anyone wondering you need to extract it using 7zip and not default windows extract tools.

Hello! Loving the mod but for some reason when I reload my game some perks haven't saved that I've unlocked. Any idea how to fix this? (solved cause I was dumb)

      Thank you!

Never had this problem with it.

Are you loading up the right save?

I was able to narrow it down to me being dumb and having a few days where I went back saves and wasn't reapplying perks and then I thought it wasn't working haha. Finished my playthrough today and your mod worked great from beginning till end. Thank you for your hard work!

Hey. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong but when downloading either of your mods all that I get after extracting is a text_perkaholic xml file. I'm assuming there's meant to be more files?

Ignore this - I was extracting through Windows built in extractor. All the files get extracted when I used 7zip instead.

    Hi !

I've just picked up this mod but the part I'm most interested in is the perks of bow, polearms and unarmed. So I picked up the "Perkaholic PTF - Bow Polearm Unarmed only". It's perfect!

But I notice that the descriptions of the others skills have been changed. For example: "You get Speech perk points at levels: 4, 7, 10, 14, 17, 20." whereas Speech perk points are every 4 levels. The same goes for Agility, Defence, Fencing, Axe, Mace, etc.

Is that just the description? Or is there a real change in the way you get perk points?

I've tried looking in the .xml files for where these changes might be, but can't find anything (apart from the description in the "text__perkaholic.xml" in the "English_xml.pak" package).

    Thank you for answers.

Is the real change for the main file. Leftover in text_perkaholic.txt for optional file. I was lazy to edit every localization file for Bow Polearm only.

      I'll fix that soon.

Edit: Localization of optional file corrected.

Any idea why I wouldn't be seeing the mods added? I've extracted the file into the Mods folder and no matter if its a new playthrough or old, I'm not seeing the perks.

    FIXED

Bump, I'm having the same issue. Running version 1.9.6 folders in the mod folder unpacked with 7zip. New game and perks are vanilla. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have mod_order.txt in mods folder?

Do you have any other mod that comes with system.cfg?

I found that I didn't need a mod_order.txt it auto loads them alphabetically by name.
I found that it wouldn't load until I renamed my Mods folder as mods and then secondarily I had to remove one layer of folder for the mods I had in it as well as it only seemed to be checking one layer into the mod folder for the manifest file. So inside the mods folder I just have mods\Perkaholic
Inside that is the data, localization and Mod manifest. when you extract to start with it had mods\Perkaholic-(bunch of version stuff)\Perkaholic
Hope this helps someone as I was pulling my hair out haha

PTF Perkaholic won't cause you that problems.

Do you have any old non PTF mods?

Do you have right game version?

The archive I downloaded from here contains only a single file: text__perkaholic.xml.

Is this right? Other PTF mods seem to consist of a Data folder and a mod manifest. When I unpack text__perkaholic.xml into /mods, nothing happens in the game. I tried creating a new folder, too, but no effect again.

Upd.: Problem solved - unpack with 7-Zip, NOT WinRar.

Why isn't this comment pinned everywhere!?

I had a few mods having issues even when ran alone and I did not realized there was a bunch of missing files because I unzip that mod with winrar...

If they think I will pay for it after such a bad trial result, they are sorely mistaken.

A very good point. Use something like 7zip to unpack it, because some unpackers do not show all of the contents of the archive.
