With this mod enabled, the icons for Mercenary Club Model # Edge Type 1 and Heavy Polearm Model # Catun No. 2 were turning invisible. When disabled, the icons for these weapons stopped turning invisible, but then an icon for a Nodachi was turning invisible! After reinstalling the mod (exactly the way I previously installed it) these problems seem to have been fixed for now.
Reporting a possible bug; After following the directions prescribed by the mod author it would seem a great many hats no longer have icons at all. They just appear blank. I suspect that's because I've deleted icons for them that aren't actually in the mod.
The Hachigane and Flared Helmet are for sure bugged now, and a few other non-armor hats as well but I didn't think to write them all down when I first saw them. Thankfully however I was wise enough to backup the folder, so it's an easy fix. For anyone else it's probably not the best idea to delete everything, just the icons for weapons.
There are no icon files in this mod. Icons are auto-generated from the 3D models from weapons and armor (except shirts, they're just textures), this mod just adjust the coordinates and zoom when generating icons, but the game won't generate new icons unless you delete the outdated ones. This only affects weapons for now anyway, so it can't be bug in this mod. From my experience, some equipment had invisible icons briefly a few times but grabbing it, equipping it and placing it in the inventory again fixed it (maybe closing and opening inventory too), so try this if it happens. It's probably just the game being too slow when generating the new icons.
Deleting only the weapon icons is technically better for now but also more time consuming because you have to manually search for all of them and I'm not sure they'll all be grouped together. Making back ups is always the safe option and it's always recommended, although there shouldn't be any reason in this case. The files in that folder weren't there when you installed the game, they were generated when you were playing and the game should be able to do it again.
Point being, after deleting the icons like instructed it caused several objects to stop displaying an icon in game. After I restored the files the 'invisible' items where fixed.
AWESOME work! i m taking them and wanna add to my potential work in progress community pack if you don't mind EDIT: oww, i just discovered what it will take to do, will see if i can made up reasonable solution for icon replacer, still appreciate your work!

Still need to track down a bug that is making Plate Armor not show any icon tho... didn't touch anything related to it...
But these icon files were there even without ever having launched Kenshi - just fyi
