About this mod

How is this different than other color mods?

Most of them dye armor but don't change the existing Vanilla color maps, that determine WHERE that color shows - which means you only see a splotch on the chest, or a spot on the head.

Changelogs

I have redone (or created new) color maps for most of the armor in the game - so now the entire armor gets colored. And I'm still making more!

This affects all NPC factions - now they look distinct and show their true colors.

I have preserved details like material texture, leather straps, metal rivets, etc. instead of just "dipped in a paint bucket" effect that turns everything to mud. All you have to do is install the mod and go, and any NPC faction that had colors defined - and most did - will each look unique, even if we're all wearing the same Vanilla armor. (For factions without a color scheme, I have been creating them in colors that I hope fit their style or theme.)
NEW IN 1.2! Additional 'slimmed' meshes to reduce clipping! Note that 1.2 REQUIRES Kenshi version 1.0.55!
Thanks to the generous work of Timor1234 on their mod "Fixing Clipping Issues," and their even more generous permission to modders to use their meshes, there's no longer a need for complicated dependencies. A number of overlap meshes are included, and after having seen how it was done, I have made more - with more on the way!

Also, Ninja Tabi Boots, because I wanted Ninja Tabi Boots with a real custom texture and I can't believe there isn't one and I don't want to upload yet another "this just does one small thing" mod so yeah, here you go, it's inside.

2.0 Upgrade in the works!
I wanted to get this out with its improvements now (NO MORE SAMURAI CLOTHPANTS SHINYBUTT) and additional detail, but even more Good Stuff is coming - compatability with popular mods, more new anticlipping meshes, and other fun and exciting prizes!

While this mod has a great many more followers on the Steam Workshop, the Nexus will be its home from now on. I'd like to make color presets available for download so you don't even have to make your own plugins, plus additional patches for other mods as optional files - sorry, Steam, you only allow one file, you lose.

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE

In 30 seconds you can customize the player's faction colors to anything you want. All armor you wear in game will become this color scheme. Tired of those colors? 30 more seconds to change it. Make a dozen different settings for my mod, and choose whichever color scheme you feel like using when you start the game!

HOW I DO DIS

If you just download this mod and use it, all NPCs will show their faction colors - these colors were already defined by the dev in the game but you hardly ever see them - and your faction will have a default Blue / Dark Grey color scheme. If you like that, you're done, happy dismembering. Otherwise, see my instructions in the Articles tab.

RECOMMENDED:

I strongly recommend you get the "Shirts For All" mod, and place it right before this one. The "undershirt" items - Turtleneck, Vest Dark Leather Shirt, etc - aren't "real" objects and cannot be dyed by this or any other mod.   (UPDATE: I figured out how to dye them and they now all become Faction Secondary, to contrast with your main chest armor Faction Primary =) )
However, Shirts For All has remade ALL underarmor and made them actual mesh objects! Then get the Optional patch file from this mod, and they will be properly colorized. Order should be:

Shirts For All
Faction Armor Colors
Faction Color Shirts For All Patch

Yes, the chainmail from this Shirts For All does in fact clip through a great many things. It seems the racial parts map may have changed since the original author was active. Have no fear! I am working on new meshes for all of them, and a new Shirts For All-Faction Colors patch is in the works!

This mod is still under development and more items are being added currently, as well as ongoing work on improving existing textures.
