It is a cosmetic gene. Honestly, should have been included in the notes, and also this is how more people should be pursuing mod creations that are all the same species of Dinosaur.
Script them into being cosmetic gene variants. Although we might have to consider scripting an entirely new gene for model variants that also have their own texture variants.
I'm guessing it's not a common thing yet, but I did see someone created skins that are added to a dino rather than replacements or a separate species sort of how they added the JP skins or the raptor squad skins. This is what i'd like to see down the road... either way very nice work!
That's a lot harder bacause pteranodon's don't have AI, they are a set of animations and the aviary dosen't support more species, because of that plus a few more reasons adding new species or pteranodon skins that don't replace is currently impossible
This is an interesting idea, I wonder though if instead of multiple species in a single aviary, you could instead have like a secondary aviary with a separate species? to me that seems like the most likely way to make it potentially work. That's all conjecture of course, I know very little of how all this works...
