    !!!

    Found the 40mm Grenade mod!

    Over at Skymods:

    https://catalogue.smods.ru/archives/204414

But it seems it isn't strictly necessary as the bug it fixed was fixed in one of the official updates -- so if the dependency is deleted, either through manual editing of the metadata.lua file, or by going into the included mod editor and simply removing the dependency that way (opening page, right side panel, lower section).

I did a quick test of Provo and his grenades without the 40mm mod, and it worked without a problem.

Edit metadata.lua to delete the dependency lines for 40mm grenades. You will be able to load the mod but the grenades and associated merc will probably crash the game if you try to use them. But the rest should work - I'm using Ladrillo right now.

That's a bit steep, setting the 40mm gas grenade as dependency while the author of that mod does not publish it on nexus nor answer your kind suggestion to do so (months ago) ...

Someone should just copy his 40mm gas grenade mod and put it up here. Obviously author of the dependency seems gone from this game.

And now the author of the 40 mm gas grenade thing took it off completely. How nice.

Really enjoying Ladrillo! He is a true Jagged Alliance M.E.R.C. merc - congratulations, and thank you!

P.S. Hope this Nexus virus warning is fixed soon so I can download the latest update.

I downloaded the latest update from Steam and, hoping that it would be OK this time, installed it. Unfortunately, instead of Provo, a mannequin has appeared again, and your bookmark is missing in the browser. I have no idea (or knowledge) to do anything about it.

Try again, a hotfix was immediately uploaded. There’s some kind of save bug in the editor, and I keep having to manually fix it. You might need to unsubscribe and resubscribe.

Something is wrong. I installed the latest version and all required mods. Provo, who had been hired earlier, disappeared. and in its place a mannequin appeared. What's more - after uploading the required "More IMP Voices" mod, some ladies started speaking in male voices. Fortunately, I always keep older versions of mods until I feel confident with new versions. Only the version of your mod from 29/08 restored Provo, but it is silent, because of course I uninstalled More IMP Voices. Take a look at these dependencies.

      hi lester--

made a mistake where i forgot to update the dependencies in editor (which overrides the steam workshop settings). the dependencies are:

      nationalities lib
      show nationality
      40mm grenade examples

More Imp Voices hasn’t been a requirement for weeks. all of the above dependencies are soft (no nationality mods means no flag appears, no 40mm grenade examples would just remove an AOE effect from provo’s new grenades) and shouldn’t break your game.

I think what is happening here is you installed the original Provo or Dustoff mods which are no longer supported (and which I should officially deprecate– i planned to do this but didn’t think it would be relevant for the Nexus Mods version since I’ve never uploaded old versions here). until this update i also had warnings the old mods were not compatible with M.E.R.C., which I should put in the description again. sorry, that was pre-M.E.R.C. pack content and all i can do is promise to try and be more clear about versions going ahead.

Thanks for the answer. The mod is cool and I don't want to give it up.
Is this version from Nexus already fixed and can be installed, or should I use Steam instead?
      P.S.
I removed the old Provo from mods a long time ago, and when it comes to grenades - the game itself requested this addition when I tried to install the mod.

I recommend the Steam version of M.E.R.C. and to stick with that. It is likely to receive more consistent updates. A lot of issues I was having with the mod editor were due to maintaining multiple versions of my mods, so I am likely to stick with updates to the M.E.R.C. mod-only, or releasing future mercs as plugins. Nexus version is likely to receive less frequent, but possibly more polished updates.
